"Lucian, will you please go out with me?"
A beautiful girl with brown-colored shoulder-length hair did a 90-degree bow. Both of her arms were forward, offering a pink love letter held by her hands.
She offered it to the handsome boy in front of her.
The handsome eighteen-year-old boy, Lucian Halloway, scratched his head in awkwardness and smiled wryly.
"You do know that I have a girlfriend, right?"
In response to Lucian's words, the brown-haired girl, Claire, immediately retorted, "I don't mind! She's only your girlfriend!"
"Since you two aren't married yet, I still have a chance!"
Hearing her words, Lucian shook his head in refusal, his voice firm and unyielding, "Sorry, I refuse. I love Seraphine the most."
"I've already decided to be with her for the rest of my life. If not for being in school yet, I would have already married her."
Listening to his firm refusal was like sharp knives cutting her heart.
Claire held back her tears, clutching the love letter she held in her hand tightly.
Not wanting to show her sorry state in front of her crush, she tried to regain her composure, smiling forcedly, "I see... I wish you two the best."
After leaving those blessings, she immediately ran away, not wanting him to see her disheveled.
Seeing Claire's retreat, Lucian didn't catch up to her.
He only saw her as a friend, so the best he could do was be firm in his refusal, so that she wouldn't have wishful delusions and false hope.
"Sigh, I had assumed making my relationship with Seraphine public would deter others from confessing to me, but it seems it isn't enough."
As he sighed, the afternoon sunlight illuminated his handsome face.
His silver-colored hair gleamed with a metallic luster under the sunlight.
His deep ocean blue eyes stared in the direction where Claire had previously run off to, before shifting his gaze away.
'I'll have to console my angel later. She doesn't like it when I'm with other women.'
Recalling Seraphine's possessiveness towards him, Lucian didn't mind.
It was his choice to be with a yandere. He was just as down bad to her as she was to him.
Although Seraphine had her delusional quirks of referring to herself as a Seraphim from Heaven, Lucian found it cute and never treated it seriously.
For him, whatever she was, Seraphine would always be his.
Although she had also threatened to send him to Heaven if he kept interacting with women other than her, he didn't treat it seriously since murder is a crime.
'I should skip school now and cook her favorite food.'
With that thought in mind, Lucian left the schoolyard and headed to the classroom to get his bag.
However, just as he was about to leave, a blinding holy light flashed in his vision.
Resisting the urge to close his eyes, Lucian wanted to know what the source was.
But before he could move, he felt something pierce his back.
Crimson blood splattered on the green grass.
Coughing up blood, Lucian lowered his gaze and saw a spearhead made out of golden holy light sticking out from his chest.
It hit his heart squarely. But weirdly enough, he didn't feel any pain.
Rather than pain, Lucian felt like he was being bathed in warmth, as if his soul was ascending from the confines of his mortal coil.
He felt his strength leaving him as a wave of weakness washed over his body.
Feeling his eyelids become heavy, he abruptly opened as if he was shot with adrenaline, especially when he heard the familiar voice of the one he loved behind him.
"Darling, didn't I say not to meet women other than me? Why did you break our promise?!"
"You won't blame me for sending you to heaven, right? Right?!"
"After all, I'm only doing the end of our deal."
"After I'm done, when the two of us are both in Heaven, I'll have your soul all to myself, with none of those vixens bothering our two-person world!"
Laboriously turning his head, he saw the gorgeous but lovesick face of his girlfriend, Seraphine.
Lucian wasn't surprised that she killed him.
What made his eyes widen in disbelief was the three pairs of white, feathered angelic wings protruding from her back.
Not only that, a golden halo emanating soothing golden holy light floated above her head.
Seraphine's long, knee-length, pastel pink-colored hair that faded to white at the tips cascaded like a silk waterfall under the afternoon sunlight.
Her golden-colored eyes gleamed brightly with a rose-gold tint as she looked at him with possessiveness and lovesickness.
In both of her hands, Seraphine tightly gripped a spear made out of sacred holy light, piercing it into Lucian's heart.
Looking at Seraphine's beautiful, lovesick face, Lucian couldn't even bring himself to hate her.
Although Seraphine had threatened him not to be with other women, she was also quite fair.
Since the two of them became lovers, she never interacted with other men, upholding her end of the deal.
Her world revolved around him, so seeing him with other women just after she warned him weeks ago, Seraphine couldn't stand it anymore.
With those vixens around, she felt like she was about to be NTR-ed, so she could only take matters into her own hands.
Although she trusted Lucian and knew he wouldn't cheat on her, Seraphine wasn't naive enough to trust those women around him.
Holding the holy spear tightly, Seraphine thought, 'Since they dared to confess to darling even when he already publicized our relationship, if I indulge them, they dare drug and kidnap him next!'
'As long as I send him to Heaven, those vixens will no longer be able to bother both of us.'
'I'm sure darling will understand my good intentions.'
Lucian didn't know what Seraphine was thinking. He could no longer care, as it was becoming more difficult to keep his consciousness, especially when his body's strength was dwindling due to blood loss.
As blood oozed out from his perforated chest, Lucian eventually breathed his last.
He died.
