Chapter 24 - Danger is approaching

After eating two plump mountain deer carefully selected by Raven, Kalon curled up in his cave and fell asleep.

The gold and jewels painstakingly accumulated by the Kobold were scattered across the floor, and Kalon lay amidst the dazzling treasures, his shining scales reflecting the luster of the riches.

Kalon's consciousness, in a semi-dream and semi-awake state, began to consciously suggest to himself, influencing his subconscious through self-hypnosis, thereby affecting the energy generated by the mysterious runes—the Heart Energy Vortex, as Kalon temporarily called this magical energy.

At first, it was indeed difficult. In a semi-dream, semi-awake state, his consciousness could not effectively produce a logical thought, just like many people in dreams who don't even know they are dreaming, let alone maintain a clear consciousness to complete a logical thought.

Occasionally, a clear thought would just begin to emerge, only to suddenly transform into another thought, much like the continuous, jumping scenes in a dream, or like a person with ADHD.

But with his continuous attempts, he began to grasp those fleeting moments of clear consciousness and gradually extend the duration of that clarity.

When he first managed to sustain a clear consciousness long enough to form a complete, logical thought, he suddenly sensed a point of consciousness in the space where the Heart Energy Vortex resided, looking down indifferently from above. This point of consciousness had a mysterious connection with the runes hidden within the Heart Energy Vortex.

At this moment, Kalon suddenly understood. It was the fundamental consciousness of all living beings, his true nature and original spirit. And it, along with the entire space where the Heart Energy Vortex resided, was his own subconscious ocean, with the Heart Energy Vortex being the eye of that ocean.

This was also the first time he could actively observe the situation in this space, rather than only being passively sensed when entering deep sleep, as was previously the case.

Kalon's consciousness connected with his original true consciousness, and he suddenly felt as if his consciousness had a real field of vision, which was rapidly expanding.

He saw the surging Evil Dragon Blood within his body, and blood vessels like mountain strongholds, growing from small to large. His vision continued to expand, and his red body lay quietly in the cave filled with gold nuggets, jewels, and various rare minerals. At the cave entrance, the Aurumvorax was boredly curled up on the ground, yawning and meticulously cleaning its face with its furry paws.

In addition, he could clearly see various magical elements that could not be observed with the naked eye but actually existed in the world. These magical elements also had unknown particle fluctuations, colorful and vibrant, making it difficult to truly describe this sensation. Kalon even felt as if he could touch these elements by simply extending his claw.

This feeling was like deep meditation among mages, or perhaps more akin to the 'observing the world through the use of the mind' as described by psychics in his previous life. However, this state was very mentally taxing, and Kalon only maintained it for a few minutes before actively disconnecting.

This is the origin point of biological perception, and it is what grants all living beings in the world the ability to perceive. The strength of this perceptual ability is linked to the creature's true nature and the power of its soul and spirit.

He roughly estimated that his current perception range was approximately a circular area with a radius of a hundred meters. Of course, thick mountain walls and rocks would also obstruct his perception; in open spaces, his perception range would be even greater.

A joyful thought arose in his consciousness ocean. He began to enter true deep sleep. Once his spirit recovered, he could begin to try actively using the power of the Heart Energy Vortex for an experimental self-enhancement.

"Roar," the Blue Dragon Dos raised his head, learning from Kalon to issue the command for the Dragon to encircle. The Young Dragons landed on the thick branches of giant trees, menacingly looking down at the panicked Green Goblin screaming in the forest camp.

The leader of the Green Goblin Tribe was a strong Goblin variant, a Hobgoblin. This brutal and brainless Hobgoblin still wanted to lead his tribe to break out and escape into the underground tunnels, but few of his timid and cowardly Goblin subordinates followed him. He hadn't run many steps before he was pinned to the ground by a volley of wooden spears with iron plates, fired by the gradually encircling Kobold Warriors.

The commotion and chaos in the Goblin camp were quickly suppressed by the Kobold Warriors. Bodies strung on long spears made the chaotic and noisy Goblin quiet and orderly, each one trembling on the ground.

But the Young Dragons now shirked responsibility. Even the Green Dragon Antagena, who most wanted to acquire dependents at this moment, was unwilling to accept these dirty, smelly, green-skinned dwarves, let alone the proud the Red Dragon Klenaya. She even wanted the Kobold Warriors to kill all these green-skins and bury them in the Dragon's orchard as fertilizer.

Finally, the Blue Dragon Dos made up his mind. He learned a bit of the art of passing the buck from the Red Dragon, so he called over the Kobold Leader and instructed, "Bagg, you are temporarily responsible for managing these Green Goblins. Don't let them cause trouble. They must learn to have order, just like you Kobolds. The rest will be decided after Kalon wakes up."

"Yes, Lord Dos." Kobold Leader Bagg, given a random name by Kalon, humbly bowed his head.

"Then let's take our spoils of war back. According to Kalon's instructions, you Kobold will also have a share of the spoils. Go back and rest well; the next battle will come soon. We must clear out all tribes not belonging to the Dragon's dependents within the territory before Kalonawakens," the Blue Dragon instructed.

After speaking, the Blue Dragon took the arrogant Young Dragon and ascended into the sky, returning to the Dragon Nest.

The spirited Young Dragons did not know that hidden danger was approaching. Powerful enemies from afar were already on their way. The powerful Ogre Tribe from the fertile bay was advancing towards the Dragon Nest Mountains through a jungle so tall it seemed to block the vision of eagles in the sky.

The Banshee enslaved by the Ogre Warlock quietly flew ahead to scout and indicate the direction. The tall Ogre Tyrant Morgor strode carelessly at the forefront, with two strong Ogre Warriors carrying his weapon beside him. This was a heavy, unadorned long axe; its blunt blade did not seem very sharp, but the Ogre Tyrant's strength was the best edge for this unpretentious axe.

The aged two-headed Warlock, accompanied by all the Warlock of the tribe, walked beside the long litter carried by four brutal Werebear slaves, in the middle of the several hundred Ogre.

Giant ogre Fafna, heavily protected, reclined on the litter, her right hand propping up her cheek. On her outstretched left hand stood a small forest Banshee, the next generation's master for the Banshee had been enslaved by the Ogre Tribe.

At this stage, the Banshee could not yet fully master her power; unconsciously emitted sounds could affect the minds of other creatures. A Banshee fully unleashing her innate ability could even easily control powerful warriors among humans.

But at this moment, the Banshee, singing a melodious song, was treated as a toy by the Giant Monster. Her tempting and manipulative voice was treated as music, completely isolated within the small space of the litter. The other Ogre could only see the Banshee's futile open mouth without any sound being produced.

Following the Ogre was a small group of humans, surprisingly those daring merchants. The merchant Aiersu was not like those unprivileged merchants who occasionally came to try their luck or venture out to open new business opportunities; he came from a financial officer's family in the Catha Empire, possessed substantial wealth, and frequently traveled between the empire and the Orc Kingdom across the sea.

Even in the Orc Kingdom, he had deep connections, as evidenced by the two powerful Orc warriors surrounding him at this moment. These were descendants of ancient Orc, reserve warriors of the Orc royal family's personal guard, fierce Orc warriors.

The other ten human warriors in the small squad also wore excellent leather armor and sharp weapons, emanating a cold and fierce aura honed through life-and-death struggles, and among them was even a mage, a figure of considerable noble status in human society.

Originally, Aiersu intended to habitually make a quick profit from the Ogre Tribe using leftover scraps from trade with the Orc Kingdom and some unused inventory. But when he heard the Ogre Warlock say that the tribe planned to conquer some young, and small Dragons and even sell those Young Dragons to him, he was greatly moved. He personally risked danger, bringing his guards along to follow.

Aiersu couldn't help but admire his own foresight. When he first led his family's merchant fleet here, he discovered the Ogre Giant, who was so beautiful it seemed otherworldly. He was immediately struck by her beauty and even considered abducting the Giant Monster to offer her to a powerful figure in the empire. That way, he would surely gain appreciation, perhaps enter officialdom, and no longer be just a member of a financial officer's family.

However, this rare Giant Monster not only possessed mysterious and powerful mental abilities herself, but the Ogre Tribe also had a rare atavistic Ogre Tyrant and powerful Warlock. It would be very difficult to accomplish this task with his own strength, and besides, it was too far away. Moreover, as a merchant, long-term and sustained income was also a factor he needed to consider.

Thus, he abandoned his plan, believing that cultivating a controllable trading partner might be more beneficial to him. Now, the time for his foresight to pay off had come.

These mysterious Dragons, as a superior race in the Aikania World, was almost the dream companion and contract object for all humans in the world. As long as he could bring back these Young Dragons, those noble mage lords and powerful figures in the empire would flock to him, and he himself would become highly sought after. His ordinary days would soon be over, and he would no longer need to rely on others' power but become a true noble.

Thinking of this, Aiersu's eyes grew fervent. Perhaps he could even keep a Dragon for himself, forming a contract with a Young Dragon. Then his newly founded family would have powerful protection and reliance, and he wouldn't have to worry about not being able to keep a Young Dragon, because he was bringing back several of them.

Aiersu gazed at the gradually descending night. He hadn't realized this wild land was so beautiful.
