All Might's Quirk. One For All.
A power passed down through generations.
It pushed the human body way beyond its normal limits. In a way, it felt pretty similar to the Eight Inner Gates.
Honestly, Arthur wanted it. Badly.
If his own Quirk, World, ever lost its time-stop ability, then what he needed most was raw, close-range power.
And One For All?
That was basically perfect for him.
Arthur didn't care about the so-called "main character" or anything like that.
He had been thrown into a world full of superpowers. Of course he was going to chase strength.
The real question was… would All Might ever choose him?
All Might had been seriously injured years ago. Ever since then, he'd been looking for someone worthy to inherit One For All. Someone who truly wanted to protect people.
Arthur knew himself well enough.
He wasn't that kind of person.
If All Might was looking for someone like Izuku Midoriya, a selfless hero type…
Yeah, that definitely wasn't him.
At that moment, Naomasa Tsukauchi stepped up to All Might and lowered his voice.
"All Might, this student violated Quirk regulations. He used his Quirk without authorization to attack, even if he did catch the robber…"
All Might blinked, then broke into an even bigger grin.
"Haha! You've got it wrong, Tsukauchi! I called this young man in to help. I'll take responsibility for it."
That instantly changed the atmosphere.
It was obvious what he was doing. He was covering for Arthur and giving everyone an easy way out.
Everyone there, including Arthur, paused for a second.
Since the No.1 Hero had spoken, Tsukauchi and the others didn't push the issue further.
After a quick nod, they loaded the robbers into the police car and drove off.
Before leaving, a few of them gave Arthur a long, curious look.
"All Might!"
"Can I get an autograph?!"
"I've always been a huge fan!"
As soon as the police left, the crowd lost all restraint. People rushed forward from all directions.
All Might scratched his head, clearly used to this kind of chaos.
"Ah… yeah, I should probably get out of here."
He bent his knees, ready to jump, then suddenly glanced at Arthur.
"Hey, kid. Wanna come with me? I'd like to talk."
Arthur paused for a second, then nodded.
"Sure."
"All right!"
All Might gave him a thumbs-up, then launched himself into the air.
He shot up over fifty meters like it was nothing.
Arthur clicked his tongue under his breath.
"Yeah… that's ridiculous."
He activated World again.
A rush of wind burst out as the Stand merged with his body. He pushed off the ground hard.
Arthur followed into the air, though not quite as high. Around thirty meters.
Still impressive, but not on All Might's level.
"Wait!"
Momo Yaoyorozu reached out, trying to stop them, but they were already gone.
She watched them disappear into the sky, her voice dropping to a quiet murmur.
"They're both… insanely strong…"
For a moment, she looked down at herself.
Compared to them, her Quirk felt…
She shook her head quickly.
"No. Don't think like that. I just need to work harder."
Turning around, she headed home.
"I still have to prepare for the U.A. recommendation exam next week."
About 2km away from the scene, on top of a random apartment building, Arthur and All Might landed on the rooftop.
All Might grinned again, flashing that signature smile.
"Not bad, kid. Keeping up with me like that."
Arthur dismissed World and sat down on the edge of the balcony.
"So? What did you want to talk about?"
All Might raised a brow.
He was used to people freaking out around him. This kind of calm attitude was… new.
He cleared his throat.
"You look about high school age. Are you already enrolled somewhere? Or preparing for entrance exams?"
"My schooling's suspended," Arthur replied flatly. "No idea if I'll even get into a high school."
"Oh? What happened?"
"I hit a classmate."
Arthur said it like it was nothing.
But thinking about that loud, explosive idiot, his expression darkened slightly.
All Might's smile stiffened.
Yeah… strong, but definitely not successor material.
Arthur caught the look instantly.
Guess that answers that.
His interest dropped to zero.
"If that's all, I'm heading out."
"Hey, hold on!"
All Might raised a hand to stop him.
"You've heard of U.A., right? The top hero school in Japan."
He puffed out his chest proudly.
"If you're interested, I can recommend you."
Even if Arthur wasn't right for One For All, someone with that kind of potential?
Letting him slip away, a potential hero would be a waste.
Become a hero?
Arthur paused.
Even though he had been thrown into this world and gained a powerful Quirk…
He honestly had zero interest in becoming a hero.
What he cared about was simple. Getting stronger, having fun, and living however he wanted. Nothing more.
Japan's whole "Quirk regulation law" thing?
Yeah, he hated it.
Not being allowed to use your powers without a license was just annoying.
Arthur's personality leaned somewhere between good and bad. Rules were the one thing he couldn't stand.
If joining U.A. meant getting One For All from All Might, then sure, maybe it was worth it.
Otherwise?
He wouldn't even bother.
Seeing Arthur go quiet for a while, All Might blinked.
What's with this kid?
U.A. was basically every teenager's dream school.
Why did he look like he couldn't care less?
After thinking for almost fifteen minutes, Arthur finally spoke.
"Alright."
Right now, his Stand hadn't fully awakened yet. If he wanted to grow stronger, U.A. was pretty much his best option.
Besides, a boring life wasn't his thing.
U.A. might actually be interesting.
As for rules?
He'd deal with them when they came. Worst case, he'd just get expelled. Not a big deal.
All Might let out a breath of relief.
Talking to this kid was weirdly exhausting.
Then suddenly, a sharp pain hit his chest. He forced it down, but a faint trace of blood still slipped from the corner of his mouth.
"Tch…"
He steadied himself and spoke again.
"Alright then. Give me your name and contact info. I'll talk to the U.A. principal and recommend you."
Arthur gave him his name and phone number.
The moment that was done, All Might left in a hurry, almost like he was trying to get out of there as fast as possible.
Arthur watched him go.
"…Right. He's seriously injured."
He muttered to himself.
"well, I won't be getting one for all"
With a quiet sigh, Arthur jumped across the buildings and made his way back to the street.
As he walked, his eyes drifted toward a fast food place nearby.
A few high school girls were chatting inside, laughing casually.
Arthur glanced at them and smirked.
"Yeah… I can kill some time here."
....
"Move, Deku! Stop blocking my path!"
A loud shout cut through the street.
Katsuki Bakugo kicked over a trash can, glaring at Izuku Midoriya, who just happened to run into him.
"Whoa, Bakugo, chill out."
"Haha, look at him, he's about to cry."
The two guys behind Bakugo laughed, clearly enjoying the scene.
Midoriya stood there stiffly, his voice shaking.
"K-Kacchan… your injury… is it okay?"
He had rushed over earlier after hearing All Might showed up nearby.
But by the time he got there, it was already over.
Now he was just heading back, disappointed…
And of course, he ran into Bakugo.
Bad luck.
Midoriya's words only made things worse.
Bakugo snapped instantly.
"Shut up! You Quirkless loser, you pitying me?!"
He raised his hand, small explosions popping in his palm.
Boom. Boom.
His right thumb was still wrapped in bandages. There were bruises on his face too.
Midoriya flinched, barely holding back tears.
"N-no… I just… I was worried…"
"Hey, isn't that the spiky-haired guy? The one who always bullies that green-haired kid? I heard someone beat him up last time. Guess he didn't learn anything."
A familiar voice cut in.
Midoriya and the others turned.
Arthur walked over casually, with two girls around his age behind him.
One had glasses and gave off a quiet, studious vibe. The other was more stylish, wearing a simple dress.
Both were pretty, and clearly focused on Arthur.
Arthur smiled at them.
"Wait here for a bit. That broccoli head gets picked on way too much. I'll deal with it."
The girls watched him walk away, eyes practically shining.
"Arthur-kun is so nice…"
"Right? He's strong but still helps people."
"He's definitely hero material. Like All Might."
Arthur walked straight past Bakugo's two lackeys.
"Move."
They froze for a second, then quickly stepped aside.
"A-Arthur…"
Even they didn't dare push it.
Bakugo, on the other hand, looked like he was about to explode for real.
"You… bastard…"
Arthur stopped in front of him, hands still in his pockets.
He looked completely relaxed.
"Seriously, Bakugo? Still picking on Midoriya to vent? That's all you can do?"
He tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk on his face.
"…Or what? You still haven't been beaten enough?"
