Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 – Professor McGonagall’s Counterattack

Professor McGonagall glanced at Sean calmly before speaking in a stern voice.

"If Mr Potter and Mr Weasley had also recognised my Animagus form…"

"Then I might've believed they stayed up too late studying last night."

The classroom instantly burst into laughter.

Draco immediately gave Sean a huge thumbs-up from his seat.

"Amazing, Boss."

Sean merely smiled faintly.

"It's not over yet."

"Professor McGonagall won't let me off that easily."

Sure enough, the moment Sean finished speaking, McGonagall addressed the class loudly:

"In today's lesson, you'll begin learning the fundamentals of Transfiguration."

Then her sharp eyes landed directly on Sean.

"Mr Sebastian."

"You seem exceptionally well-read for someone who arrived late."

"In that case, perhaps you'd like to demonstrate for the class."

Hermione's hand instantly shot into the air.

Unfortunately, McGonagall ignored her completely.

Meanwhile, Ron looked delighted.

"Harry, Sean's doomed," he whispered excitedly.

"Professor McGonagall's definitely taking revenge for earlier."

"She didn't deduct points before because she was waiting for this!"

Harry, however, focused on something entirely different.

"Ron…"

He stared toward Sean's wand in confusion.

"Why is his wand green?"

At the front of the classroom, even Professor McGonagall briefly froze after noticing Sean's unusual wand.

Still, she quickly recovered and placed a matchstick onto the desk.

"Very well, Mr Sebastian."

"Please transform this matchstick into a needle."

Sean remained perfectly calm.

With a faint smile, he raised his wand lightly.

"Transfigure."

The matchstick immediately began twisting.

Under the shocked gaze of the class, it smoothly transformed into an exquisite silver embroidery needle.

Even more shocking—

Delicate decorative patterns had been engraved across its surface.

Professor McGonagall's eyes widened slightly.

Then she quickly placed a mouse onto the desk.

"In that case…"

"Turn this mouse into a snuffbox."

Several students instantly gasped.

Transforming living creatures was significantly more difficult than ordinary objects.

Even Hermione looked nervous now.

Sean silently observed the mouse for several seconds.

Professor McGonagall's lips curled slightly upward.

"It's alright if you cannot manage it, Mr Sebastian."

Clearly, she didn't believe a first-year student could accomplish this level of Transfiguration.

Sean didn't answer.

Instead, he calmly raised his wand again.

"Transfigure."

The mouse immediately squeaked in terror.

Its body began twisting rapidly.

Moments later—

A beautiful white snuffbox appeared atop the desk.

But the transformation didn't stop there.

Fine silver patterns gradually spread across the box's surface.

Then the entire classroom fell silent.

Because the decorative patterns weren't ordinary at all.

A dragon soared across the surface beneath a full moon hidden behind drifting clouds.

Below the moonlight stood Hogwarts Castle itself.

And before the castle…

Was a woman quietly holding a cat.

Loneliness and sorrow lingered within her elegant posture.

Hermione suddenly gasped loudly.

"That's Professor McGonagall!"

The classroom erupted instantly.

Even McGonagall herself covered her mouth slightly in shock.

Sean calmly picked up the snuffbox before offering it toward her.

"For you, Professor."

For several seconds, McGonagall simply stared at the gift silently.

Then—

She suddenly began applauding.

"Outstanding."

"Absolutely outstanding."

She looked directly at Sean with unconcealed astonishment.

"It's difficult to believe you're only a first-year student."

"I haven't seen talent like this in many years."

"The last student who possessed such skill was…"

McGonagall suddenly stopped herself.

Her expression became complicated.

Then she shook her head firmly.

"Never mind."

The students' curiosity instantly exploded.

"Who was it, Professor?"

"Please tell us!"

"We want to know!"

The entire classroom became noisy immediately.

Professor McGonagall clearly looked reluctant to answer.

At that moment, Sean suddenly stepped forward smoothly.

"There's no point revealing it directly."

"Let me give you a clue instead."

Sean smiled faintly.

"They were once known as the Marauders."

"Feel free to research the answer yourselves."

Professor McGonagall's pupils trembled slightly.

She instantly understood what Sean had done.

The Marauders' history was complicated.

As a professor, openly discussing them would be inappropriate.

Yet Sean's answer redirected the students perfectly while also encouraging them to visit the library.

An elegant solution.

McGonagall unconsciously gave Sean a grateful glance.

Unfortunately—

Gratitude didn't mean mercy.

"Mr Sebastian."

Her expression immediately became serious again.

"Since your Transfiguration skills are so advanced…"

"Please conjure a shield next."

The classroom instantly quieted.

Sean's smile finally stiffened slightly.

Conjuration magic.

That belonged to advanced Transfiguration far beyond first-year level.

Even Sean couldn't perform it yet.

After several seconds, he finally sighed helplessly.

"I can't do that, Professor."

McGonagall nodded with visible satisfaction.

"Since you cannot…"

"Slytherin loses five points."

Ron immediately looked delighted.

"I knew it!" he whispered proudly toward Harry.

"Professor McGonagall definitely wanted revenge!"

Unfortunately for Ron—

McGonagall immediately continued:

"However…"

"Given Mr Sebastian's exceptional Transfiguration ability…"

"Slytherin gains ten points."

The entire Slytherin side instantly erupted into cheers.

Even Draco nearly jumped from excitement.

Ron's face froze completely.

Meanwhile, Professor McGonagall quietly observed Sean with increasing appreciation.

The class finally ended amidst laughter and discussion.

The moment the bell rang, countless students rushed directly toward the library.

Clearly, everyone wanted to investigate the Marauders.

Draco hurried over to Sean excitedly.

"Boss!"

"Who exactly were the Marauders?"

Sean glanced lazily at Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle.

"Interesting."

"Everyone else went to research it themselves."

"But you three came straight to me instead."

Then Sean added casually:

"Though your father probably already knows."

"You could always ask him."
