Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 – The Secrets Hidden Within Hogwarts

"What was that?"

Logan sat frozen inside the Room of Requirement, his breathing uneven.

"Slytherin's… regret?"

Before he could think any further, the entire memory world completely collapsed.

The shattered sky fragmented into countless pieces of light before his consciousness was violently dragged back into reality.

Huff—

Logan suddenly opened his eyes.

Instinctively, he pressed a hand against his chest while quickly surveying his surroundings.

The Room of Requirement remained exactly as before.

Cold stone floors.

Practice marks everywhere.

The Ravenclaw diadem still resting nearby.

So he really had returned safely.

Only then did Logan finally relax slightly.

Still…

Slytherin's final words continued echoing endlessly through his mind.

What exactly happened inside that cave all those years ago?

And why did Salazar Slytherin regret it so deeply?

Just then—

Ding.

Mission updated.

Main Mission: The Mystery and Shadows Behind the Scenes.

Extended Mission Unlocked: A Buried Secret.

Mission Description:

After accidentally uncovering memory fragments hidden within Ravenclaw's diadem, you realise that the truth surrounding Hogwarts' founders differs greatly from recorded history. Salazar Slytherin's memories and final regrets have deeply disturbed you. As a future legend, you will uncover the hidden secrets buried beneath time itself.

Mission Rewards:

Legendary Points × ?

Mana Growth Potion × ?

Skill Experience Card × ?

Ocean Heart ×1

Mission Hint:

This mission has no time limit. The host may investigate legendary artifacts left behind by the founders for additional clues.

Logan's eyelid twitched violently.

"Bloody hell…"

This was absolutely a chained mission.

And not just any chained mission.

A giant trap disguised as an opportunity.

The more generous the rewards became, the more dangerous the mission obviously was.

Even discovering fragments of truth from the founders' era already granted rewards at this level.

Which meant whatever secret waited at the end…

Would likely be terrifying.

Logan immediately began analysing the situation rationally.

Could all four founders have died inside that cave?

Impossible.

If that happened, Ravenclaw wouldn't have had descendants later.

Slytherin wouldn't have eventually left Hogwarts.

And Hogwarts itself certainly wouldn't have continued developing normally.

Besides—

After witnessing Gryffindor personally, Logan genuinely struggled imagining anything capable of killing that monster.

The man punched legendary magic to death with his bare hands.

Still, at least the mission lacked a deadline and carried no punishment for failure.

That made things manageable.

And honestly…

If he backed away every single time a dangerous mission appeared, when exactly would he ever gather enough Legendary Points to complete his forbidden spell research?

Eventually, Logan exhaled slowly.

The danger probably remained controllable.

After all, centuries had already passed.

Surely the secret wouldn't suddenly crawl out of history and attack him personally.

Right?

This mission was absolutely worth investigating.

Having made up his mind, Logan decided to continue searching for additional founder-related clues whenever opportunities appeared.

Finally calming down, he returned the diadem carefully to its original hiding place before leaving the Room of Requirement.

Outside the windows, the night sky remained dark.

Apparently, time inside the memory fragment barely affected reality at all.

Good.

That meant he could still return to the dormitory and catch some sleep.

.....

Morning arrived quickly.

The sleepy first-years gradually woke beneath the cruelty of biological necessity.

Logan slowly pushed aside his blankets while fighting overwhelming exhaustion.

So tired.

Staying awake all night inside the Room of Requirement definitely accelerated his growth tremendously…

But long-term sleep deprivation might kill him before Voldemort ever managed the job.

Which was more important?

Health?

Or power?

A difficult question indeed.

Unfortunately, abandoning nightly training entirely felt unrealistic.

Not only did he need the Room of Requirement for spell practice, but future investigations into Hogwarts' secrets would also require sneaking around after curfew.

Perhaps reducing practice time slightly while prioritising sleep would help.

If only someone could teach him proper time management.

Preferably an actual master at it.

While washing his face, Logan suddenly noticed Harry glancing toward him strangely several times.

It looked like Harry wanted to say something.

"What is it?" Logan asked casually. "You look nervous."

Harry hesitated awkwardly before quickly shaking his head.

"Nothing."

Logan narrowed his eyes slightly.

Was Harry still traumatised by the three-headed dog from last night?

Probably.

Not thinking much further about it, Logan instead focused on checking his system panel.

.....

Overall, nearly all his spells had improved significantly.

Logan also gradually discovered something important:

The easier a spell was, the faster experience accumulated.

Simple charms like Scouring could reach proficiency extremely quickly through repeated practice.

Meanwhile, more advanced magic required vastly more effort.

Among all his abilities, Transfiguration proved the most difficult to level.

If repeatedly casting the Scouring Charm granted ten experience points…

Then practising Transfiguration perhaps granted only one.

This made Logan suspect spell difficulty directly influenced experience gain rates.

Still, last night's progress remained incredible.

Both Levitation and Shield Charm had reached Proficient rank.

The Disillusionment Charm improved rapidly as well.

Meanwhile, Lumos had somehow advanced to an absurdly high level.

That result genuinely confused him.

The spell itself should have been simple.

Yet for some reason, his experience growth with Lumos vastly exceeded nearly every other spell.

Learning it felt as natural as breathing.

After some thought, Logan finally formed a theory.

Perhaps because the unfinished Sun Spell shared similarities with light magic, the spellbook system automatically enhanced his affinity and understanding toward Lumos itself.

Honestly…

That sounded surprisingly reasonable.

Which also reminded Logan of another problem.

He still hadn't properly tested the Sun Spell itself.

After all, he spent most nights training alone inside the Room of Requirement.

There was little point casting an incomplete solar-type spell onto himself just to experience its effects personally.

Perhaps later…

He could find an unfortunate volunteer to test it on.

Meanwhile, his current combat abilities still lacked several important offensive spells.

Sleep-inducing curses.

Petrification magic.

Destructive attack spells.

Surely he couldn't rely forever on weaponising Levitation Charms against people.

At some point, he definitely needed to expand his spell arsenal further.

After all…

Those future forbidden spells wouldn't invent themselves.
