The skies of Antarctica were clouded grey as a blizzard rolled in from the east. Along the cost, three modified Sachsen-class armoured frigates were lodged on the coastline, abandoned. A trail in the snow of tank tracks and footprints led deep into the barren snowy wastes. Eight pairs of tank tracks and hundreds of footsteps led towards a monolithic cavern two-hundred kilometres from the coastline. A cavern hollowed out of ice, with an otherworldly blue glow.
At the entrance of the caver, tied to each pair of modified Thermal Kruiser Artillery tanks was a retrofitted Zeppelin, four total, modified for the extreme cold and pressurized. This was the most advanced technology of the time in this alternate timeline Earth. Just as Germany had lost the First World War, Baron Wilson Jaius embarked on a rogue mission to the Antarctic based on a discovery his father had made in an expedition. The Baron took the entire Secret Lüftkräft-3rd Division, during the chaos after the surrender, hiding the last traces of its existence after the war. The Baron had his orders to hide the existence of the 3rd Division, and he decided this was the perfect spot, the place where his father mentioned.
Boots that stepped over snow for hundreds of kilometres suddenly crunched on black alien rock. What was originally two hundred men, were now eighty. Men who had families and lives, had signed up for the experimental division, knowing their fate was to never be remembered. The elements had claimed most of them, and supplies were thin. Except this alien cavern was not what anyone had expected to find.
The Baron set foot on the black soil, looking on. 'The cave seemed to go on forever', he thought. Then he led them deeper, eighty soldiers, three zeppelins, and eight tanks. Thus the Lüftkräft 3rd Division disappeared from history and the Earth.
