"Do you need any help?" she as Kyle.
Her white hair fluttered in the wind, her green eyes sparked, her steps light and gracefully. Her ears pointed out, telling she was an elf.
Everything about her seems to radiate.
"I'm trying to find my way back to exam hall, but I have no clue where it is"
She was impressed, most people she had meet always stared at her like she was some goddess which gave her a nasty feeling. But here was someone who didn't even spare her a glance.
"Maybe I can be of assistance" she said.
"I'll really appreciate if you can" Kyle replied. He lifted his head and saw something floating around her, on closer inspection it was a small human with fairy wings.
'No wonder his girl's mana signature was strange'
"This is Sophie, a high level wind spirit and my summon". She saw that Kyle's eyes were fixed on Sophie.
Shopie flew and whispered to her ear "Silv, you've got to be careful, his no ordinary human "
Silvia nodded, "Let's go then" taking the lead.
"Let's introduce ourselves" trying to break the awkward silence "I'll go first, my name is Silvia"
"Kyle" he responded, letting his Gare wonderful to the sight around them.
'Why those this name sound familiar, it's heard it somewhere.' Then it hit her, this was the cousin Olivia talks about. She had told me that he was coming to sit for the exams.
She stopped abruptly "As in Kyle Lucas". She paused "Olivia has told me all about you"
As they walked, bystanders mistook them for a couple. That's how rumors spread that the school belle had a crush on the crazy new transfer.
"It all makes sense now, no wonder he's so crazy strong" the crowd whispered when the passed
"You never cease to amaze me" Duncan said. "Do you Cerci"
Cerci brought the cup of coffee to the table. "I told you he would suprise you but you didn't believe me. Now see for yourself"
"I expected it, but isn't this overkill. He destroyed a mana crystal at this age. His potential is terrifying, he might surpass you one day"
"I know, that's the reason I wanted him to come here. So you would groom him in the right path" she answered. Cerci walked to the windows and saw Kyle and a girl heading for the hall. "If raised properly, he can be a beacon of hope for humanity. But I brought him here so he could live a normal life"
"You and I know very much that Kyle won't be able to live a normal life. No matter how much he may try to hide it, everyone would still notice his strength" Duncan said, looking her in the eyes. There was warmth and sympathy in his voice.
"l don't need anyone to tell me that" She sighed and left the window, taking her sit
"As long as I'm here, I'll keep him safe" Duncan said
"Is anything the matter?" Silvia asked when she noticed Kyle had stopped.
"Nothing" he responded. 'That's odd, I clearly felt Cerci's mana just now'.
They arrived at hall, Silvia waved Kyle good luck before heading back.
"Hey Silv, did you felt that" Sophie said. She flew and sat on Silvia's shoulder.
"Yeah, it's ths same feeling from earlier when you told me we were being watched"
When Kyle entered the hall, the noisy hall became dead silent, all eyes now focused on him.
They had just finished the mana assessment and where waiting for the results to be compiled and announced. Kyle sat at a corner, when the guy who had scored 850 came up to him.
"I don't know what stunts you played to deceive everyone, but I won't fall your cheap tricks" he said
"What the hell are you talking about" Kyle snapped, irritated by the guy's rant.
"I, Ceasar of house Nephastus promise to reveal your deceit for what they are. I challenge you to duel." casting his towel down.
"I refuse" Kyle stood up from where he was and headed towards the door.
"You're a coward, do you think you can just walk away from your crimes" he yelled, drawing people's attention.
'Just where I wanted him to be. You can't possibly refuse it now can you'
He smirked when he saw that people were now focused on them, "Are you afraid. Don't worry I'll go easy on you" His voice calm and sardonic.
Kyle turned and looked him dead in the eyes, "Why should I accept it? What's there to gain? Why should I derive joy from crushing a mere insect? You're not worth my time. If you think I cheated, fine. I don't give a damn about you,but don't go spouting nonsense" Kyle said coldly, making a shiver run through Ceasar's spine. He flinched a little.
"Do you think you scare me" he said. Murmurs spread through the crowd, just like he wanted.
'If I don't act now, things would get out of hand'. He faced Ceasar then said "Fine, I accept the duel"
