Chapter 35 - CHAPTER 31

Hello, Legends.

Against all odds, I am still alive.

Anyway—

CHAPTER 31Jay's POV

The moment our plane landed in London, I thought I would finally get a chance to rest.

I was wrong.

The second I checked my schedule, my entire mood disappeared.

A meeting.

Normally, I wouldn't care.

I attended dozens of meetings every month.

But when I opened the details, I nearly dropped my phone.

Watson Empire.

Out of every company in the world, it had to be Watson Empire.

I closed my eyes.

Maybe I was seeing things.

I opened the schedule again.

Nope.

Still there.

And just when I thought it couldn't get worse—

I read the next line.

Meeting with CEO Mark Keifer Watson.

"...You've got to be kidding me."

I stared at the screen.

For years, I had managed to avoid him.

And now?

I was supposed to sit across from him and discuss business.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear someone calling my name.

"Jay."

No response.

"Jay."

Still nothing.

"JAY!"

I jumped.

Gorya stood beside me with her arms crossed.

"Where are you lost?"

"It's nothing."

She narrowed her eyes.

"Whenever you say it's nothing, it means it's everything."

I sighed.

A few minutes later, I explained everything.

The meeting.

Watson Empire.

Keifer.

All of it.

When I finished, Gorya remained quiet.

Then she smiled softly.

"Face him."

I blinked.

"What?"

"Face him, Jay."

I looked away.

"Gorya—"

"You can't hide forever."

Her voice became gentle.

"One day you'll have to face him."

I knew she was right.

That was the annoying part.

I sighed.

"Fine."

A small smile appeared on my face.

"I'll face him."

"There you go."

Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around her.

She immediately rolled her eyes.

"Okay, that's enough."

I laughed.

"Thank you, Ate."

"Now let's go eat. Everyone is waiting."

When we arrived at the restaurant area, the children were already seated.

The moment they saw us—

"MAMA!"

"TITA!"

The entire place became noisy.

I smiled and sat down.

But then...

A strange feeling settled in my chest.

Like someone familiar was nearby.

I frowned.

Slowly looking around.

And froze.

My heart nearly stopped.

No.

No way.

Not now.

Not here.

Section E.

I immediately recognized them.

Aries.

Angelo.

The others.

For a moment I simply stared.

Years had passed.

Yet I still recognized them instantly.

But something was different.

Then I noticed it.

Wives.

Children.

Families.

They had all moved forward with their lives.

For some reason, that realization hit harder than I expected.

Then panic kicked in.

Why were they here?

Did they somehow find me?

No.

That couldn't be possible.

Right?

I immediately stood up.

"We're changing tables."

Everyone looked confused.

Thyme blinked.

"What?"

"We're changing tables."

"Why?"

I pointed.

The boys turned.

The second they saw Section E, they understood.

"Oh."

Kevin sighed.

"That's a problem."

"Exactly."

Ren nodded.

"Moving sounds good."

I crossed my arms.

"If they see me, they'll ask questions."

"Questions I don't want to answer."

Everyone immediately agreed.

We had barely started moving when someone called out.

"Hi, Thyme."

I froze.

Of course.

Of course it had to happen.

Keifer.

The universe clearly hated me.

I immediately lowered my head.

"Jay?"

"He knows you?"

Thyme nodded.

"We've met through business before."

Then he looked at us.

"You girls and the kids go ahead."

"We'll talk to them and come back."

I nodded.

"Don't take forever."

A few minutes later, we were seated in a hidden corner.

The children immediately started ordering food.

Meanwhile, I couldn't stop myself from glancing toward the other side.

Thankfully, they couldn't see us from here.

But we could see them.

And unfortunately—

Keifer was there.

I quickly looked away.

Nope.

Not dealing with that today.

Keifer's POV

Something felt strange.

The moment I saw F4 changing tables, I knew something was wrong.

Then there was the woman standing beside them.

I had only seen her side profile.

Yet something about her felt familiar.

Very familiar.

Before I could think about it further, the women and children disappeared toward another table.

Leaving only the boys.

"Hi, Keifer."

Thyme greeted.

"Hi."

I hesitated.

Then asked the question that had been bothering me.

"Who was she?"

The atmosphere changed instantly.

Their jaws tightened.

Their expressions became serious.

Kevin answered first.

"Our younger sister."

Ren added quietly,

"Our life."

The way they spoke made it clear they were protective of her.

Interesting.

Before I could ask anything else, two women approached.

One walked toward Kevin.

The other toward Thyme.

"The kids are waiting."

The woman sighed.

"And MJ Aum is refusing to eat until you comes back."

Immediately, Mj stood up.

The woman rolled her eyes.

"She's carrying twins and still acts like this."

Everyone laughed.

The second woman crossed her arms.

"And your children aren't any better."

She pointed toward the tables.

"They refuse to eat until their dads come back."

Then she added,

"And your sister's children are doing the exact same thing."

I frowned.

"Sister?"

Thyme smiled.

"Oh right."

He pointed toward the first woman.

"This is my wife, Gorya."

She waved casually.

Then Kevin pointed toward the second woman.

"And this is my wife, Kanning."

She smiled politely.

I nodded.

Something still felt off.

Then Thyme's phone rang.

He answered and put it on speaker.

A familiar female voice immediately filled the air.

"Where are you people?"

Everyone winced.

The voice continued.

"Your niece and nephew are refusing to eat."

A pause.

"Your own children are refusing to eat."

Another pause.

"And before anyone asks, yes, my children are refusing to eat too."

Several people laughed.

"I sent people to bring their husbands back, not start another meeting."

Silence.

Then the voice continued.

"If you don't come back right now, I will personally come over there."

Another pause.

"And trust me, none of you want that."

The call ended.

My entire body froze.

That voice.

Why did it sound so familiar?

It sounded exactly like—

No.

Impossible.

It couldn't be.

Could it?

Before I could ask anything, Thyme stood up.

"We should go."

Everyone nodded.

A few moments later, they disappeared.

Yet my eyes remained fixed on the direction they had gone.

For some reason...

I wanted to follow them.

But before I could move, Angelo called me over.

The moment passed.

Later that night, I lay in bed staring at the ceiling.

Tomorrow was going to be busy.

I had a meeting with the CEO of MKM.

Then I needed to check on the children and their training.

Everything was planned.

Everything was normal.

Yet one thing refused to leave my mind.

That voice.

That familiar voice.

A voice I hadn't heard in years.

A voice that sounded exactly like Jay.

With that thought lingering in my mind, I slowly drifted to sleep.

Unaware that tomorrow...

The CEO of MKM and the girl he had never forgotten were the same person.
