Jay POV
We left the restroom after our little meeting.
I ran toward Section E.
I was… happy.
At least, that's what it looked like.
The news still echoed in my head, and for a moment, it almost felt like everything was normal again.
Almost.
As I entered the classroom, my eyes immediately found Denzel.
Without thinking—
Jay: "Denzel!"
Almost the entire section turned to look at me, but I didn't care.
I walked straight to him and pulled him into a tight hug.
A bone-crushing one.
The kind that looked full of happiness…
but held something else underneath.
The class immediately started questioning—
Felix: "What happened, Jay?"
Ci-N: "Yeah, what happened?"
More voices joined in.
Too many.
I raised my hand.
And just like that—
Silence.
I slowly walked to the front of the class.
Turned around.
And smiled.
Jay: "Section E… I have wonderful news."
I pointed at Denzel, my smile widening just a little.
Jay: "That idiot is going to have a daughter."
A few gasps.
A few surprised looks.
But I didn't stop.
Not yet.
Jay: "So… please don't break her heart, okay?"
My tone was light.
Almost teasing.
But the words—
They landed.
Slowly.
I tilted my head slightly, like I was just remembering something small.
Jay: "Oh, and… Grace was actually going to leave you."
The room went still.
Jay: "But don't worry."
A soft smile.
Jay: "I stopped her."
A pause.
Just enough for it to sink in.
Jay: "A child should have both parents, right?"
Silence.
Heavy.
Uncomfortable.
Denzel didn't move.
Didn't speak.
Because he understood.
I let a second pass.
Then I turned slightly.
Now looking at Calix.
Same smile.
Same calm.
Jay: "And Calix…"
He straightened immediately.
Jay: "Mica was saying she wanted to break up with you."
His face dropped.
Right on cue.
I gave a small shrug.
Like it didn't matter much.
Jay: "But don't worry, I told her not to."
A pause.
Jay: "For my hard work's sake."
A faint smile.
Soft.
But sharp.
Jay: "And also… she shouldn't suffer for the mistakes her boyfriend makes, right?"
That one hit deeper.
Because it didn't sound like blame.
It sounded like truth.
Silence filled the entire room.
No one laughed.
No one spoke.
No one even moved.
And just like that—
I was done.
I walked back to my seat.
Sat down like nothing happened.
Took out my phone.
And started scrolling.
Like this was just another normal day.
Behind me—
No one dared to speak.
Because the way I said it…
smiling, calm, almost happy—
hurt more than if I had screamed.
