Chapter 92 - Overwhelming Victory — A Way to Save Ninetales

"It's time for all of you… to give me an answer."

Mewtwo's voice echoed coldly across the battlefield.

With just a wave of its hand—

several Team Rocket elites, along with their Pokémon, collapsed unconscious.

If not for Mewtwo deliberately holding back—

they would already be dead.

Seeing Mewtwo regain its senses and immediately side with the League—

even Giovanni paused for a moment.

"…I didn't expect Mewtwo to truly choose the League."

There was a hint of regret in his voice.

Yet his expression remained calm—

as if he had already anticipated this outcome.

"We're withdrawing."

Athena clenched her fists unwillingly—

but nodded immediately.

"Yes, Boss."

Among the Four Executives, her strength might not be the highest—

but her loyalty to Giovanni was absolute.

She quickly issued the retreat order.

"Leaving?"

"Did you ask me first?"

Mewtwo's eyes glowed blue—

and all remaining Rocket elites were instantly pinned in place.

Apollo, seeing the situation, prepared to flee.

Red, however, revealed a dangerous smile.

"Trying to run? Too late."

He looked at Mewtwo.

"Forget the small fry—help me deal with this one."

Apollo's heart nearly stopped.

How is this guy commanding Mewtwo?!

Before he could react—

Mewtwo appeared behind him.

That calm blue gaze—

felt like death itself.

With a single motion—

Mewtwo tore off one of Apollo's arms.

A scream tore through the battlefield.

The second-in-command of Team Rocket—

a peak Elite-level trainer—

was nothing more than a ragdoll before a true Legendary.

Mewtwo frowned slightly.

It had expected to tear him apart completely.

"…You interfered."

It glanced at the Elite Peak Houndoom.

Moments earlier—

Houndoom had used Crunch to save its master.

Despite trembling—

Houndoom still stood in front of Mewtwo.

"…Annoying Dark-type."

A single Aura Sphere—

and Houndoom was critically injured.

But—

Apollo had already escaped into the air on Crobat.

"Running?"

Mewtwo raised its hand—

psychic force seized Crobat midair.

It dragged them down—

but at the last moment—

Crobat kicked Apollo away—

charging Mewtwo with suicidal resolve.

Mewtwo casually tossed it aside like trash.

Apollo summoned a third Pokémon—

Weezing—

and fled again.

Just as Mewtwo prepared to finish him—

the heavily injured Houndoom unleashed one final Dark Pulse—

disrupting its vision.

Mewtwo crushed it with a massive rock.

"Crobat! Houndoom!! AHHHH—!!!"

Apollo's scream echoed like a wraith.

For a trainer—

losing two core Elite Pokémon—

was worse than losing an arm.

Still—

Mewtwo launched a final psychic blade.

Weezing fell from the sky.

But—

Apollo escaped.

Barely.

Mewtwo turned to Red.

"…Sorry. I underestimated their bond."

Red waved it off.

"It's fine. Losing that much—he's half-crippled already."

"I'll deal with him myself one day."

Mewtwo nodded—

then shot toward Giovanni.

Against the true mastermind—

it didn't waste words.

It attacked.

But Giovanni—

a true Champion-level trainer—

was far harder to pin down.

In the end—

he sacrificed:

Two Elite PokémonOne Champion-level Steelix

—and escaped with a handful of subordinates, including Athena.

While the top figures escaped—

the rest weren't so lucky.

Nearly a hundred elite Rocket members—

were wiped out.

Only a few survived.

A devastating blow to Team Rocket.

In the aftermath—

the League launched retaliation.

Dozens of Rocket bases were destroyed.

Viridian Gym was sealed.

Even the Goldenrod headquarters was raided—

but it was already abandoned.

But for Red—

none of that mattered right now.

To treat Ninetales—

he went straight to Pallet Town, seeking Professor Oak.

"Professor Oak… is there any other way to treat life-force depletion?"

In the lab—

Red, Ash, Gary, and others all looked at him expectantly.

Oak adjusted his glasses.

"There are generally two methods."

"First—Celebi Forest's spring water."

"But only the water after opening a time-space rift works."

"And Celebi hasn't appeared in nearly five years."

"Second—seek Legendary Pokémon that govern life."

"Ho-Oh… or Xerneas."

"But sightings of them are even rarer—once in a century."

Red frowned.

What now…?

Should I issue a bounty?

But the chances are slim…

Oak placed a hand on his shoulder.

"It's not hopeless."

"If another Legendary is willing to help, it can at least stabilize her condition."

Joy Xue spoke up:

"What about Latias?"

Oak shook his head.

"Still too young. Not enough power."

Red then asked:

"…What about Mewtwo?"

Oak's eyes lit up.

"That would absolutely be enough."

"But didn't Mewtwo disappear after that incident?"

"…Can you contact it?"
