I reacted by collecting the bag from her before she could finish speaking. It's the hello kitty design bag that Rex had gotten me for my birthday.
My mind unwittingly goes back to what Calix had said about him. No wonder he didn't respond to my calls and texts or show up today. The tears return to prick my eyes, it was too much to hold back in this time.
It just would have been better if he hadn't walked into my life like a savior only to disappear all of a sudden.
What good is there in being helped out from a pit only to be thrown right back in properly.
