CALIX
It is unsettling how profound the sense of calm is hitting me from holding her small, delicate body so tightly close. The feeling that nothing else in the world matters except a particular moment. I have not felt like this in a long time.
Truly thinking about it, I don't feel like I have ever.
The way she fits right into my embrace like she belongs in it. Her body is way too soft and sweet to the touch and is making me conscious of my hands as if she has suddenly become a fragile delicate object.
Feels as though she is made of luxuriously soft cushion instead of blood and bones.
It must be because she has baby skin. I can smell the powder on her as well as her usual scent. The thought of just holding her like this and being here for the rest of the night flickers in my mind.
I must be going crazy. I want to just play with her a little and leave—nothing more or less.
