The words were ringing loudly in my ears even after I had left the office. The world coming to an end or someone close to me suddenly dying would not have sounded as badly crushing and devastating. The world spins before it crashes and buries me under its weight.
I went back to the classroom to take my school bag. I'm feeling so many things all at once. I feel so empty like a tree that has been hollowed out. My brain desperately searching for hope to cling to that this is not real. But that escape mechanism isn't working right now.
