"This is gold! Totally! Where did you get this?" He too recognizes me but his excitement did not falter one bit.
"Hi Halloween costume. Never thought I would see you in the same class." He says. Sorry about this morning. But I was speaking the truth." Before I could reply him Curry cuts angrily cuts in.
"Back off Maverick! Aren't you ashamed, bringing your faggot tendencies to a new student?"
"Back off too ugly freckles. I wasn't speaking to you!" He retorts sharply.
"What did you say about my freckles?" I hate having to stay in between arguments or a fight.
But this was not middle school where I could sit in my favorite corner of the classroom and pretend that I don't see two people going physical. Now I have switched roles with the other students who are filling out and ignoring the heated exchange. It was easy for me to pretend as I wasn't close to any of them. But this is highschool. Between two people that I can say I know.
