Chapter 7-: A New Dawn and the Echoes of the Past

The sun rose, and with it, Amar's life began to shine with a newfound brilliance. For the first time, sleeping on a soft, cushioned bed brought him such profound peace that he didn't wake up until 8:00 AM.

Downstairs, breakfast was ready. Shanti began setting the table as Mr. Mehra looked around. "Vedika, Amar hasn't come down yet. Perhaps he's feeling hesitant. Why don't you go call him?"

"I checked on him earlier," Vedika replied warmly. "He's still asleep. Since he hasn't been well, I thought it best not to wake him. I'll take his breakfast up to his room later."

As Mr. Mehra headed for the office, he paused at the door and turned back. "Vedika, take Amar shopping today. Buy him new clothes—whatever he wants, let him have it."

The Secret Locket

Later, Vedika entered Amar's room with a tray of food. Amar was already awake, sitting on the bed with Radha's locket open. A sweet, haunting melody played from it. He stared at the photograph inside, whispering, "Radhika, I miss you so much. Do you still think of me? Please, don't ever forget me." He pressed the locket against his chest.

Startled by Vedika's presence, Amar looked up. "Amar, beta, that locket is beautiful. Where did you get it?" she asked.

A flash of fear crossed Amar's face. In a trembling voice, he replied, "Ji... Ma, a friend gave it to me."

Hearing the word "Ma," tears welled up in Vedika's eyes. Her ears had yearned for twenty years to hear that word. In her joy, she completely forgot about the locket. Seeing her tears, Amar panicked. "What happened, Ma? Did I say something wrong?"

She simply shook her head with a loving smile and began feeding him with her own hands. To Amar, this felt like a dreamland. An orphan boy, now living in a mansion, surrounded by a mother's unconditional love—it was beyond anything he had ever imagined.

A Day at the Mall

After breakfast, Vedika took Amar to a massive shopping mall. As they drove through the city, Amar watched the people outside—some walking in the scorching heat, others on cycles. It reminded him of his own past, of the days he wandered without parents, working tirelessly just for two meals a day. Today, he had every luxury, yet his heart felt the void left by Radha.

At the mall, Vedika picked out various outfits, holding them up against him. "What do you like, beta?"

"Whatever you choose, Ma," he replied softly. After shopping and a quiet lunch, they returned home to a family that truly cherished him. Amar's new life had begun beautifully.

Five Years Later: London

The scene shifts to London. Radha appeared, dressed in simple, elegant Indian attire. Despite living abroad, she remained a shy, sweet girl, untouuched by the arrogaance of wealth.

The phone rang, and Radha rushed to answer. It was her father, Mr. Khanna. "How are you, Radha beti? Do you even remember your father?"

Radha laughed. "Oh Papa, how could I ever forget you? Is everyone well back home?"

Her uncle, Mr. Anthony, entered the room, and Radha handed him the phone. Just then, Chanchal came running in. "Come on, Radha! We have to go to the market. I'm going to introduce you to someone very special today!"

"Special? Who is it?" Radha asked, but Chanchal simply dragged her out of the house.

They arrivqd at a chic restaurant in the marketplace and ordered coffee. Radha kept asking about the mysterious guest, but Chanchal just teased her. "Drink your coffee and wait. You'll see for yourself when he arrives."

They sat there, sipping their coffee, waiting for the "special person" to walk through the door.

Has Radha forgotten Amar over these five years? And who is this special person—is it Amar, or someone new?
