Chapter 28 - Brie’s Dream

"She seems absolutely fine and I'm exhausted. Does my link stay active while I'm sleeping?"

[Yes]

Sora noticed Brie hadn't moved for an hour or two, sleeping peacefully with her head and arm on his chest. Her calm, smooth breathing relaxed him. He smiled and eventually drifted to sleep.

The moment Sora fell asleep, Brie's dreams started.

Brie was in their mansion, hosting a Council meeting. The demons and werewolves were not there, but the group still argued. She couldn't make out the words… or any of the faces. Just Sora's. He sat calmly next to her with the same crown the Current King wore.

A guard rushed into the meeting room. "They're outside… demons! Lots of them!"

"Now they're attacking our house? This is bullshit!" Sora yelled.

As Brie walked out of their front door, an angelic white light flashed and she was alone.

She could see the stars and the cosmos. She wasn't sure what she was standing on. When she looked down, she noticed she was floating.

'Woah, where am I?'

The sound of crackling and rumbling echoed throughout space. The air felt heavy. The smokey odor overwhelmed Brie and she started coughing. She noticed flames shooting around the cosmos and a star exploded, then another, and another until all the stars were gone.

She watched in horror as the fire consumed the entire area until another white flash occurred.

"My sisters…" a young man uttered and collapsed into another man's arms. The entire building behind them collapsed and Brie put her hand over her mouth in horror. 'What is going on? This is horrific–"

Flames engulfed Brie and teleported her away.

'Why can I see myself and why am I dressed like that? Why do I still smell smoke and fire?'

"You look absolutely gorgeous Brie! I can't believe you're getting married!"

"Your mom's right. Girl, you look amaaaaaaaaaazing!" Sasha said gleefully.

"Yes Brie, I don't think I've ever seen anyone look so beautiful." Leila said. "I can't believe how fast time flies when you're not locked away in a dungeon!"

"Just make sure you consummate your marriage tonight dear! Dorian always insisted we waited until we were married. He hasn't changed at all! Every time we make love, he looks at me with such love and compassion, even though it's been over 2500 years," Camilla cheerfully told Brie.

"I bet you two will have the cutest babies," an unrecognizable woman said.

Brie noticed how red her cheeks were. She was sitting in her wedding dress, with amethyst eye shadow on her left eye and aquamarine on her right eye… to mirror Sora's eyes. Her beautiful blue hair neatly done, down to her shoulders with her bangs swept neatly to the left side.

"Ok time for the veil then we get you down the aisle–" the voice trailed off.

The scene engulfed in flames… and the smoke lingered. Brie started screaming.

*******

Immense pain caused Sora to suddenly wake up in a panic. He grabbed his chest and started breathing heavily. Brie was shaking and muttering indistinguishable words in her sleep. He hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear. "Stay strong, you can make it through this!"

*******

Brie sat in a chair alone in a burning building. Fire and smoke filled the room, but she couldn't move. She didn't recognize the room and panicked as the cries and screams of children echoed throughout the burning room.

Aphrodite finally appeared in front of Brie. The goddess' body illuminated in an angelic glow and her blonde hair went nearly down to her waist. Her golden eyes stared right into Brie's as she spoke.

"Hello Brie. I'm so glad to finally meet you. I'm sorry I couldn't bring Sora's father along, but he says he loves you and he's glad to call you his daughter."

"Your… so beautiful. Please tell him thank you for me. Why did you want to meet me? Can't you just see us from the heavens?" Brie asked. "Also, why does every one of these dreams smell like smoke and fire? Why are their children screaming all the time?"

"Oh… apologies, let's move somewhere more comfortable." Aphrodite snapped her fingers and the two of them stood in blank, white space.

"Sorry about that. Those were simply the dreams you were having before I arrived. I don't have control over your dreams, it's just where I'm able to meet with you or anyone else I choose to visit."

"Thank you for your blessing. I never imagined meeting a god or goddess. Now I've fallen in love with someone born as one!" Brie said while blushing.

"You are welcome, love. The reason I wanted to formally meet you is to show you the future the gods and goddesses saw of Sora destroying the world," Aphrodite said with a small frown. "However, you must not speak of this future to anyone other than Sora."

Before Brie could speak, she noticed Aphrodite and her were standing on a battlefield full of humans, demons, vampires, Uthra, a dragon and other races she didn't recognize. None of them moved, like they were frozen in time. Then she saw Sora, floating in the air with a massive ball of magic.

"LOCKHEARTS REIGN!" Sora shouted in an evil tone.

The massive ball of magic flew high in the sky and exploded. Tiny magical droplets rained down from the sky, landing on every being frozen on the battlefield. Once the droplets touched the person, they exploded.

'There's not a single person left…" Brie covered her mouth and cried, but the scene wasn't over.

Sora teleported to Primrose, the capital of Prosperia. "WRATH OF LOCKHEART!" he screamed.

A mass of energy started swirling with colors: blue, red, black, white, green, yellow, pink, red… every color on the spectrum. It continued to expand while swirling until it was a massive ball of magic. Sora used his right hand to propel the ball and scorched the entire city, leaving a trail of ash and dust.

"That's what humanity gets for betraying me." Sora said furiously. "Now where are these vampires hiding…"

"ENOUGH! I CAN'T WATCH THIS ANYMORE!" Brie screamed in horror.
