Cherreads

Chapter 2 - Tutorial complete

"Yelp!"

The creature shrinks willingly causing enough displacement in its direction.

The pipe of the athletic guy is well attached to its neck.

CRACK.

The wolf bangs against the pillar in agony.

"I... I hit it?" The male is gazing at his pipe with amazement.

"You're amazing!" I say, fainting at unnatural awe. "You saved me!"

He blows himself up, and he does not notice his bloody arm.

Be near, sir, I will keep you safe.

I nod, the corporate pupil who is being pathetic and grateful.

It is the girl in glasses who suddenly screams on the other side of the room.

"The timer! Just survive! and fight it alone, beat it out

I look at the hologram display.

[Time remaining: 2 minutes.]

The wolf is grappling to give himself up. Its right eye is profuse with blood. It's enraged.

It does not give a thought to the timer. It simply desires to kill.

It begins shredding up the fugitives. The screaming begins once more.

And I keep well back of my shield. We continue to move, on the other side of the room to the side of the carnage.

I observe my internal condition.

My breathing is even. My pulse is steady.

I have no emotion towards the dying people.

I am completely self-aware in terms of emotions.

[Time remaining: 10 seconds.] [9... 8... 7...]

The wolf kills another one and points towards us. It is hobbling, yet speedy.

[3... 2... 1...]

The wolf leaps.

The athletic man raises his pipe with closing his eyes.

[0. Tutorial complete.]

Flash.

The wolf disappears in mid-air.

The wall nebular room fades away.

Our location is a huge deserted metropolis square. The sky is a ground-coloured purple.

We can see that the survivors are gasping, crying and falling on the floor around us.

Of fifty perhaps two dozen are remaining.

Another holography screen is seen in the sky.

[Introduction to the First City, Welcome to Oasis. Evaluating performance...]

Player: Lee Seo [Kills: 0] [Damage Dealt: 12] [Contribution: F] [Reward: 100 Survival Points.

I look at my score.

F.

The pure bottom level.

I stare at the sporting man beside me. He is enclosed in a golden light.

[Reward: 500 Survival Points] [Contribution: B] [Player: Kang Min-ho]. Free anymore:--Brave Heart.

He stares at his hands and his eyes are all wide in shock and pride.

He saved people. He engaged in a struggle with the monster. He got the reward.

I made it, says Kang Min-ho, reaching down and giving me a hand. Fine, all right, sir?

I look at his hand. then I investigate his eyes.

I do not see a saviour. I see a resource.

Yes, says I, and I allowed him to lift me up, holding his hand. I ensure that my knees bend to a degree in order to make him bear my weight. "Thanks to you. I owe you my life."

He smiles. It is a sincere, cordial smile.

He does not know at all the organizational structure that we are going to enter.

It is not a safe haven of this city. It is only an extended part of an enclosure.

The organizational awareness assists in knowing how the emotions work within a given culture.

An order of precedence will develop immediately.

Others with 'brave hearts' will be first consumed, hacked, and thrown away by the really despicable ones.

Alas, unless, of course, they were mine.

And I look at the girl with the glasses. She sits on a fragment of concrete, which is hyperventilating. I must also find a way to win her. She sees the System dynamics more than anybody in the System.

However I am not able to go south upon her. When I become too competent I ruin my camouflage.

I spud Kang Min-ho.

There is that girl, I say, weakly pointing. She is like she is just about to take a shock. You.... you should go and see whether she is all right. You are a strong one she will feel safe with you.

I am resorting to influence. The area of influence in the light of emotional intelligence implies this, whereby one influences others to help themselves towards achieving goals, the ones who assist them in building themselves.

Right, Min-ho says, and the effect of his heroic complex is complete.

He runs toward her.

I stare at her in a far-off way. It is vital to establish relationships. When you are interested in making relationships, this will result in forming some form of social network and expanding the number of relationships you can form.

Yet it is better still when you proxy construct them.

They talk. She gazes back at him with appreciation.

There is a rudimentary team being formed.

A meat shield. A brain.

and me, the worthless company melt down.

Up to the a purple sky I look.

The Game of Emotional Death.

That is what it is. The System is nourished with our panic, our sorrow, our frantic need to live.

However, I am pure in conscientiousness. Conscientiousness refers to being loyal to the emotional self-employee journey and being entirely accountable of your moods.

I brush the dirt off my suit pants.

I shall be the irrelevant, unseen background.

And from the shadows, I will operate.
