Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

In a sprawling, luxurious estate overlooking the city, sunlight danced across the crystal-clear surface of a modern pool. Jordin sat cross-legged on a plush outdoor cushion, completely engrossed in a handheld game, his thumbs moving swiftly across the screen.

Beside him, Nate Brook stepped out of the water, his muscular body soaked and dripping, a single towel draped loosely over his waist as droplets traced down his chest. Pausing to wipe the water from his brow, Nate looked down at his friend.

"You still up for tonight?" Nate asked, his voice cutting through the soft ambient hum of the filtration system.

Jordin didn't look up immediately. "I don't know," he muttered, suddenly feeling at an odd, inexplicable loss for some reason.

Nate's brow furrowed, a flicker of suspicion crossing his features. "Is it about that lady?"

At the mention of Elsa, a jolt of restlessness shot through Jordin. He kept playing his game, trying to act casual, but the truth was heavy: he had checked on the club earlier and found out she had quit. The sudden realization that he couldn't see her again left him surprisingly unsettled.

Nate felt a spike of intrigue. To him, she was just some random woman who had somehow messed with his friend's head. He could get any woman he wanted, Nate thought, shaking his head in disbelief.

"You could get any lady you know if you're so into it," Nate said, looking down at Jordin with a dismissive wave.

Jordin knew that wasn't it at all. It wasn't about casual flings; he liked her already, his dark, ink-black eyes holding an unexpected trace of quiet sadness. It wasn't about sex—her presence had simply made him feel at ease in a way no one else ever had, drawing him in with a magnetic pull that both captivated and deeply annoyed him.

"I guess so," came Jordin's low, distracted reply.

Nate shrugged, accepting the vague answer as he picked up a chilled glass from the side table and sank into a cushioned lounger. He took a slow sip, studying the peaceful environment around them. The pool was designed with a stepped entry that sloped down toward the deep end, flanked by lush, tropical greenery and towering plants that wrapped the space in a tranquil, secluded oasis—a peaceful sanctuary that Nate usually loved, though today his friend's distraction hung heavy in the air.

Back in the corporate world, Aaron stepped into the private executive elevator to head down to the main lobby for an off-site client meeting. Isabella stepped in right behind him, carrying a sleek leather folio tucked securely under her arm.

As the heavy doors slid shut, a soft, cool breeze from the ventilation system stirred the air, carrying the crisp, expensive floral notes of Isabella's designer perfume. She stood tall and poised, occasionally adjusting the lapel of her blazer and tossing her dark, glossy hair over her shoulder with an air of absolute, unshakeable self-assurance.

Aaron, however, stared straight ahead at the polished metallic doors, his thoughts instantly bypassing her entirely. He wasn't thinking about the logistics, the client, or the woman standing inches away from him. He was thinking of Natalia—her bright, gentle smile, the way she could light up his world with the goodness of her soul, the silky softness of her skin against his lips, and the sweet, wholesome domesticity waiting for him at home. Compared to his wife, Isabella felt completely plain, a mere corporate ghost in a world that meant nothing to his heart. His soul craved only Natalia, dismissing any stray, high-society attention without a second thought.

Aaron arrived home at precisely 2:00 PM, his broad shoulders instantly shedding the heavy corporate armor and the crushing weight of the boardroom the second he stepped through the front door. The cool, quiet sanctuary of the house wrapped around him, but his singular focus—the only thing that truly mattered—was Natalia.

In the sunlit kitchen, Natalia stood slicing fresh carrots on a rustic wooden board, wrapped in an aura of quiet, domestic grace. She was a breathtaking vision of natural beauty—pure, gentle-souled, and radiant with a wholesome, godly spirit that grounded Aaron's chaotic world entirely. The moment he looked at her, his soul cleaved to her with absolute, unadulterated, all-consuming love.

Silently, like a shadow of pure devotion, Aaron stepped up behind her. Before she could react, his strong arms slid securely around her slender waist, pulling her flush against his chest.

Natalia gasped softly in surprise, her breath catching, before a bright, radiant, genuine smile broke across her face as she had seen him entering into the kitchen and instantly recognized his scent and touch. "Aaron..." she breathed.

Without missing a beat, Aaron buried his face deep in the crook of her warm neck, inhaling her clean, comforting fragrance—a intoxicating mix of vanilla, soap, and home. He pressed an intimate, lingering kiss against her soft collarbone, trailing his warm lips slowly upward toward the sensitive skin of her ear and neck. Natalia shivered with pure pleasure, her eyes fluttering closed as a soft, breathless sigh escaped her lips, though she managed with some effort to keep her grip on the paring knife.

"Aaron... please," she murmured playfully, a melody of amusement and longing in her voice. "I'm still preparing the meal, you know."

Aaron pressed a final, deeply tender kiss onto her shoulder before pausing, though every single fiber of his being screamed to lift her up against the kitchen counter, bury himself deep inside her, and lose hours in the passionate, skin-to-skin union of their bodies. His love for her only deepened with every passing day—it was a steady, burning, eternal flame that no other woman on earth, not even the striking and efficient beauty, could ever replicate, threaten, or even compare to. Isabella was a ghost, a mere shadow of business, compared to the vibrant, breathtaking reality of his wife.

"You are so impossibly beautiful and hardworking," Aaron whispered roughly against her sensitive skin, his voice thick with unadulterated adoration.

Natalia blushed deeply, her cheeks warming as she turned her head to look back at him with sparkling, profoundly affectionate eyes. She leaned backward, pressing her weight comfortably against his chest, completely melting into the sweet, unscripted devotion in his voice.

"I want to change and join you in cooking," Aaron said softly, pressing one last lingering kiss to her cheek.

Natalia smiled warmly, her eyes shining with utter devotion. "Okay."

Aaron quickly bounded upstairs to freshen up, slipping out of his heavy suit and into a comfortable casual shirt and soft shorts. Within minutes, he was back in the kitchen. He stepped right up beside her, taking over the vegetable chopping with an easy rhythm, sharing quiet laughter, stolen touches, and a deep, enveloping warmth that made the afternoon feel entirely timeless.

That evening, the Aaron wayne household was filled with a warm, golden glow and the gentle clatter of silverware against porcelain. Aaron and Natalia sat at the head of their elegant dining table, surrounded by their children, who were happilyeating their meal. Plates were filled with hearty, home-cooked food, and the room echoed with easy laughter and the sweet, innocent stories of the kids. Aaron watched Natalia from across the table, his heart swelling with a fierce, protective pride as she wiped a smudge of sauce from their youngest child's cheek with a tender, motherly grace.

Once dinner concluded and the dishes were cleared, it was time for bed. Natalia walked the Marcus, Aaron holding Diana in his arms heading to their rooms, the soft murmur of bedtime stories drifting down the hallway. With infinite patience and gentleness, the both couples tucked each child in, pulling the blankets up to their chins, pressing a soft kiss to every sleepy forehead, and whispering gentle goodnights until their breathing slowed into the deep, rhythmic cadence of sleep.

When the both couples finally slipped back into the master bedroom, the lights were dimmed to a soft, amber hue. Aaron was already longing for the embrace of Natalia, sitting on the edge of the expansive king-sized bed. The moment Natalia closed the door, the heavy burdens of the outside world melted away entirely.

Aaron pulled Natalia into his arms. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling her sweet, familiar scent, his hands sliding down to curve firmly against her lower back.

"You were amazing with them," Aaron murmured, his voice a low, rough whisper against her ear.

Natalia smiled, her hands resting against his chest as she looked up into his eyes, which burned with an intense, unmistakable hunger. "They're always full of energy," she breathed, her voice catching as his lips brushed lightly against her jawline.

Without another word, Aaron lifted her effortlessly into his arms, carrying her toward the center of the bed. Natalia let out a soft, delighted gasp, wrapping her arms around his neck as he laid her down gently amidst the plush pillows.

The bed became a sanctuary of unbridled passion and deep, soulful connection. Aaron hovered over her, his gaze mapping every inch of her face as if memorizing it for a lifetime. He pressed slow, worshipful kisses down her throat, tracing the sensitive curve of her collarbone, eliciting soft shivers and breathless sighs from her lips. Every touch was deliberate, fueled by an absolute, consuming devotion that no other person could ever command.

Natalia arched into his touch, her fingers tangling in his hair, pulling him closer as the world outside faded into absolute nothingness. Their movements shifted from slow, tender adoration into a rhythm of deep, heated passion, their bodies locking together in a seamless, electrifying union. Every single touch, every whispered endearment, and every breathless sigh brought them closer, lost in a wave of good, soul-deep loving that lasted long into the quiet hours of the night.
