Chapter 1 - The Honest Woodcutter

🌱 The Honest Woodcutter

Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter in a small village near a forest. Every day, he went to the forest to cut wood and sell it to earn his living. He was very honest and hardworking.

One day, while cutting a tree near a river, his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the deep water. He became very sad because it was his only tool to earn money. Sitting near the river, he started crying.

Suddenly, a divine spirit appeared from the river and asked, "Why are you crying?"

The woodcutter explained his problem. The spirit dived into the river and came back with a golden axe. "Is this yours?" she asked.

The woodcutter replied, "No, that is not mine."

The spirit again went into the river and brought a silver axe. "Is this yours?"

Again, the woodcutter said, "No, that is not mine."

Finally, the spirit brought his iron axe. The woodcutter smiled and said, "Yes, this is mine."

The spirit was impressed by his honesty and rewarded him with all three axes — gold, silver, and iron.

The woodcutter returned home happily.
