Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Seafront Restaurant

The car once again arrived at Hang Lung Plaza.

Zhou Xing parked the car.

"What are we doing here?"

An Ya asked, puzzled.

As a Flight Attendant who frequently flew to Shanghai, she had naturally heard of Hang Lung Plaza, known as a shopping paradise.

"Didn't you say you wanted to buy matching couple's watches with me? This is the only place for that,"

Zhou Xing said, one hand on the steering wheel as he turned to look at An Ya.

"Who said I wanted matching couple's watches with you..."

An Ya blushed, then covered her mouth, pointing in shock at the Richard Mille on Zhou Xing's wrist. "You bought your watch here?"

A luxury item from Hang Lung Plaza, and the king among luxuries at that.

One could imagine the value of this wristwatch.

An Ya immediately felt a bit embarrassed and asked, "How much did this watch cost?"

"Less than seven hundred,"

Zhou Xing said nonchalantly.

"Seven hundred... dollars?"

An Ya hesitated.

"What do you think?"

An Ya lowered her head, feeling the question was ridiculous even to herself.

How could Zhou Xing, who splurged millions at the bar and drove a luxury car worth over ten million, possibly buy a watch worth only seven hundred dollars?

That meant the watch's value was close to seven million.

Even knowing famous watches were expensive, An Ya still found it hard to accept.

What was it like to wear an apartment on your wrist?

Recalling how she had boldly talked about buying a watch like Zhou Xing's in the car earlier, An Ya felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment.

"Let's go,"

Zhou Xing opened the car door, ready to get out.

"Stop teasing me,"

An Ya said, both shy and annoyed, playfully hitting Zhou Xing's arm. "Millions at a time? How could I afford that? I couldn't even if you sold me."

She thought Zhou Xing was teasing her, enjoying seeing her embarrassed.

Zhou Xing smiled and looked at An Ya's fair, delicate, yet bare wrist. "Since we're here, let's buy you a watch. You don't seem to be wearing one, and isn't a watch essential for Flight Attendants?"

For Flight Attendants, when communication devices couldn't be used on the plane,

watches became their most frequently used tool during their shifts.

An Ya naturally owned a watch, but it only cost a few hundred dollars, and she only wore it for work.

Since it wasn't a branded watch and served no decorative purpose, there was no need to wear it when going out.

"It's too expensive here; I can't afford it,"

An Ya said pitifully.

Her annual salary probably couldn't even buy the cheapest watch here.

"Let's just take a look first,"

Zhou Xing said, pulling An Ya out of the car without another word and heading straight into Hang Lung Plaza.

As soon as they entered the plaza,

salespeople from various luxury brands spotted Zhou Xing, their eyes lighting up with enthusiasm as they hurried over from afar.

That morning,

a young magnate had appeared in Hang Lung Plaza.

In less than an hour there,

he had gone on a shopping spree, purchasing goods worth over seven million.

Salespeople shared information among themselves.

Looking at photos in their group chats, they were all incredibly envious of Luo Qianqian, who had accompanied Zhou Xing.

To their delight, in the afternoon... Zhou Xing had returned!

Faced with such a super rich magnate, how could they miss the opportunity?

The usually aloof luxury salespeople acted like enthusiastic real estate agents in front of Zhou Xing,

pouring out the utmost enthusiasm of their lives.

An Ya was also startled by this reception, clinging to Zhou Xing's arm, her face tense.

Zhou Xing ignored the salespeople, taking An Ya straight to the Cartier store.

Although he had the means to buy An Ya any of the top ten watch brands, several times over without issue,

it wasn't necessary!

Placing a woman on too high a pedestal wasn't a good thing.

Human desires were insatiable.

So, it was better to take things step by step.

Although Cartier wasn't very famous in the watchmaking industry, its flashy designs were deeply loved by women.

"Good afternoon, sir. Welcome to Cartier. How may I assist you today?"

The Cartier salesperson felt blessed by the goddess of fortune, her face beaming with joy as she warmly greeted Zhou Xing and An Ya.

Zhou Xing pointed at An Ya and said to the salesperson, "Find her a suitable watch."

"Of course, sir. Please take a seat here for a moment. I'll take the lady to select a watch right away."

The salesperson guided Zhou Xing to a seat, brought him a glass of Perrier water, and then took An Ya to the watch counter.

An Ya, put on the spot, felt too embarrassed to refuse outright.

She could only follow the salesperson to the counter.

Her original intention was just to look and then find an opportunity to refuse.

However... when she saw the counter filled with watches—each with novel designs, studded with diamonds, dazzling and abundant—she couldn't take her eyes off them.

The salesperson took out an exquisite ladies' watch and placed it in front of An Ya. "Madam, what do you think of this watch?"

"This watch is from Cartier's most classic Ballon Bleu collection. The strap is made of classic, durable alligator leather, combining aesthetics with breathability for comfortable wear."

"The guilloché sapphire dial, sword-shaped hands, and a total of twenty-six diamonds embedded in the front and back of the case. Your hands are very beautiful, fair and slender. Wearing this would definitely enhance your elegance."

The salesperson enthusiastically took the watch off the display. "Let me put it on for you so you can see how it looks."

An Ya looked at the watch on her wrist, wanting to refuse, but the words just wouldn't come out.

Because this watch was simply too beautiful.

Even though she knew she couldn't afford it, she still wanted to gaze at it a little longer.

"How much... is this watch?"

An Ya glanced back at Zhou Xing, saw he was sitting on the sofa playing with his phone, not paying attention, and then whispered to the salesperson.

The salesperson said with a bright smile, "The official price for this watch is currently 136,800."

An Ya shuddered and instinctively wanted to take the watch off.

The next moment,

a hand landed on her shoulder.

She turned to see Zhou Xing standing behind her, having appeared out of nowhere.

Zhou Xing glanced at the watch calmly and asked, "Do you like it?"

An Ya hesitated for a moment, then tried to find fault with the watch. "This strap seems a bit tight; it's uncomfortable to wear."

Zhou Xing looked at the watch on An Ya's fair wrist; it fit perfectly.

After all, the salesperson had adjusted the strap in advance.

He didn't expose her. "It's fine. I actually prefer it tight."

"It'll loosen up with wear."

An Ya listened. While that made sense, she felt something was off.

Suddenly, her face flushed red, and she glared at Zhou Xing, scolding, "You pervert!"

Even with little experience, in this era of highly developed internet, she couldn't possibly be completely clueless.

"Swipe the card, check out!"

Zhou Xing ignored An Ya and directly handed over his bank card.

"Right away, sir."

The salesperson happily took the bank card. "I'll process it for you immediately."

"No, Zhou Xing, this is too expensive,"

An Ya pleaded with Zhou Xing as soon as the salesperson left.

Over one hundred thirty thousand was more than she could accept.

"If you like it, then keep it. You can consider it a small gift from me. Of course, I wouldn't mind if you treated it as a token of our love."

Zhou Xing smiled, a teasing glint in his eyes.

"Who... who's in love with you?"

An Ya's face turned red as she muttered softly, "I haven't agreed to anything yet."

Yet her hand covered the watch, her eyes curved into crescents, her brow filled with joy and excitement.

Zhou Xing paid no more attention to An Ya, inputting the password on the POS machine.

Payment successful.

The salesperson placed the packaging box and small gifts into a bag. "Thank you very much for your support of Cartier. We look forward to your next visit."

The two walked out of Hang Lung Plaza.

An Ya looked at Zhou Xing with a pout. "Didn't I say I'd show you a good time? How did it turn into you buying me a gift?"

"But you seem much more familiar with Shanghai than I am; you don't need me to show you around at all."

Before Zhou Xing could reply, An Ya continued on her own, "You must have ulterior motives, bad intentions, planning something improper..."

Halfway through, An Ya realized the implication and stopped.

Wasn't she implying that Zhou Xing's improper intentions were directed at her?

"How did you know I have ulterior motives?"

Zhou Xing asked with a laugh.

An Ya immediately fell silent, unable to respond.

Afterward, the two didn't choose another upscale venue but went to a place An Ya often visited to relax.

The Bund.

Eating some ordinary snacks.

Feeling the breeze from the riverbank.

It felt quite nice too.

Soon... night fell.

The Huangpu Riverbank instantly came alive.

Skyscrapers lit up brightly.

On the river, countless cruise ships sounded their horns, preparing to set sail.

Having played all afternoon and expended a lot of energy, An Ya's stomach couldn't help but growl.

An Ya covered her stomach, looking somewhat embarrassed at Zhou Xing.

Zhou Xing didn't say anything, glanced at his wristwatch. "It's about time. Let's go."

"Where to?"

"Board the ship for dinner."

Since they were at The Bund, it was only natural to experience the Huangpu River Night Cruise, renowned alongside the Lujiang Night Cruise and Pearl River Night Cruise as one of China's three golden waterway tours.

Pier 3, 99 Waima Road.

A giant cruise ship was docked.

Four decks in total, with a grand and elegant exterior.

The white hull bore the words "crystal princess."

The crystal princess.

A luxurious five-star cruise ship!

Different from ordinary Huangpu River cruise ships, the "crystal princess" had an investment of about 50 million yuan, making it the first ship on the Huangpu River to undergo a five-star cruise ship rating assessment. It was also currently the best-equipped and most well-facilitated sightseeing ship on the Huangpu River.

The crystal princess cruise ship integrated fashionable technology, not only serving sightseeing and entertainment functions but also hosting events like aquatic fashion shows and water weddings. It was a veritable floating stage on the Huangpu River.

All this was told to him by Zhang Yan, who had also helped him reserve a spot.

Taking An Ya aboard, they went up to the second deck and arrived at the restaurant area.

As a floating stage, it naturally offered dining, and with relatively high-end ingredients at that.

They could choose between a buffet or ordering à la carte.

Zhou Xing, without a doubt, chose the latter.

Sitting by the window, they enjoyed an unobstructed view of the Huangpu River scenery.

Under the dazzling lights,

they ordered Western cuisine, paired with red wine.

The gentle river breeze blew in, refreshing and delightful.

At seven o'clock,

the crystal princess set sail on time, ready for the night cruise on the Huangpu River.

The Oriental Pearl Tower, The Bund, the International Architecture Exhibition... a series of beautiful sights unfolded before their eyes.

This time, An Ya didn't miss the opportunity. She stood on the deck, taking photos for a long time before finally being satisfied.

Returning to her seat, looking at the red wine in her glass and the delicacies on the table,

her gaze grew somewhat distant. "Is this what the life of the rich is like? So simple yet extraordinary? Do you live this excitingly every day?"

"Of course not. What are you thinking?"

Zhou Xing chuckled. "I'm an ordinary person too. How could I live this luxuriously all the time? It's because of you that I specially picked this place."

"I heard that girls like romantic places like this."

"That way, my chances of success are higher."

An Ya looked at Zhou Xing. "So you prepared all this specifically to win me over."

"Then, may I ask, have you been successfully won over?"

"You guess!"

An Ya said playfully, her face full of mischief.

Zhou Xing also smiled slightly.

Feeling the gentle river breeze,

the wine didn't intoxicate, but the person was already enchanted.
