"I monitor all primary walkways from the core interface," Ren replied, stepping up to the railing beside her. He reached out with a slender, warm hand, gently adjusting the heavy fur collar of her coat to shield her neck from the draft. "And as much as I admire your unyielding restraint, that tiger was exceptionally foolish. Had Caspian been the one standing behind that pillar, Tybalt's head would currently be decorating the lower courtyard spike."
Hana let out a short, raspy chuckle, leaning her shoulder slightly into Ren's side. "Caspian is down at the forge turning raw alloy into wall plates. I didn't want him melting the lower foundation over a tiger who thinks he's smooth."
