Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 Champa and Vados Defeat

Deep within the World of Void, an hour had already passed since the battle between the two Gods of Destruction concluded. Yet, the clash between Whis and Vados showed no signs of stopping.

Clack!

Their staves collided with a sharp crack before they instantly recoiled. What followed was a blur of high-level exchanges: haymakers, sweeping kicks, and palm strikes. The momentum of the fight shifted back and forth like a pendulum.

Unlike the flashy, cataclysmic displays of the Destroyers, the combat between the two Angels was surprisingly understated. There were no colliding laws of physics, no prismatic energy flares—just pure, unadulterated martial arts.

Compared to the Gods of Destruction, their movements were far more economical, each strike infused with the martial arts' ultimate essence.

"Your physical instincts haven't improved a bit since our last match thousands of years ago," Vados noted, meeting his fist with her own. She could feel his power; it was stagnant, unchanged. "How did you find the courage to challenge me again?"

"Don't you realize how far you overstepped the line this time, Sister?" Whis used the recoil to take a step back, swirling his staff into another strike.

Clack!

Vados blocked it easily, her eyes narrowing. "Just because of that? Are you really so eager to lose to me again?"

"In battle, winning and losing is perfectly natural, isn't it?" Whis replied calmly.

Vados was momentarily speechless. "When you first challenged me, I thought perhaps you had finally started taking your training seriously. Given your talent, I might actually have been worried. But looking at your current strength, you haven't changed at all. I suppose you'll just have to accept another defeat!"

Disappointed that her brother was acting on a reckless impulse rather than actual growth, Vados accelerated. If her previous movements were a steady drizzle, they were now a torrential downpour. Clack-clack-clack! The collision of ultimate martial arts grew more intense by the second.

Inside the transport Cube, Shin watched with a puzzled expression. "Lord Ancestor, why does it look like they're just... having a regular brawl?"

Before Old Kai could answer, Gran chimed in, his brow furrowed in concentration. "You've got it wrong, Shin. The more powerful a warrior becomes, the more perfect their control over their energy. You won't see the messy, explosive outbursts like you see with Vegeta or Frieza from someone above a Destroyer's level unless they're doing it on purpose."

Beerus nodded in approval. "At the Angelic level, they rarely even need to use cosmic laws. The simplest movements are often the most lethal."

Old Kai added, "Look closely, Shin. Have you noticed that despite the intensity, they haven't caused a single speck of collateral damage to the environment? That's what's confusing you; it's too controlled."

Kusu, listening to their analysis, smiled. The inhabitants of Universe 7 are more perceptive than I thought. "Watch closely now," she said suddenly. "Whis is making his move."

Everyone fixed their eyes on the projection. The exchange was reaching a fever pitch. To an outsider, it looked like a harmless dance, but anyone who had ever faced an Angel knew the truth: a single stray tap from them carried enough weight to shatter a galaxy. As Whis often said, a true master leaves the environment untouched.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Vados's expression suddenly shifted from confidence to confusion. "Your strength... something is wrong!" She dodged a palm strike only to have a staff whistle past her ear. Whis didn't answer, his body twisting at an impossible angle to avoid her counter.

"No! Your instincts are different too!" Vados gasped.

While all Angels exist in a state of Constant Ultra Instinct, there are varying degrees of perfection. The gap between a standard Angel and the Grand Priest is astronomical. Now, Whis was demonstrating a level of physical autonomy and power that far surpassed his previous limits. He had been hiding his true progress the entire time.

"You've been sandbagging!" Vados hissed, gritting her teeth. Among elite fighters, a tiny margin makes a world of difference. The advantage she had held for millennia was evaporating.

Through Kusu's projection, the spectators could finally see Whis taking the upper hand. Gran pumped a fist. "Yes! Knock her flat, Whis!"

"I took down Champa, you better take down Vados!" Beerus yelled into the void, his excitement matching Gran's. Even the Supreme Kais were cheering as if they were the ones in the ring.

"These guys are quite the riot," Kusu giggled, though her eyes remained glued to the fight. Vados, you really let your guard down this time, she thought.

"How about it, Sister? Still think I'm just looking for a reason to lose?" Whis chuckled, thrusting his staff forward. The strike seemed to bypass the very concepts of time and space, appearing instantly at Vados's chest.

"So fast!" Vados didn't have time to retort. Her Ultra Instinct forced her body to lurch sideways, but Whis followed up with a punch that sent her reeling.

"I might not enjoy training any more than Lord Beerus does," Whis said, pressing his advantage, "but you know my talent. A little bit of effort is all it takes to catch up to you!"

The battle entered its final, white-hot phase. Despite Whis's advantage, defeating an Angel is no small feat. Another hour passed before Whis found the opening he was looking for. As their staves locked, Whis intentionally let go of his weapon, using the momentum to slip past Vados's guard.

"No!" Vados realized her mistake too late. The leverage was gone, and her balance was compromised.

Whis decided it was time for a little payback. A shimmering silver glow—pure Angelic Energy—cloaked his fist. He threw a single, decisive punch.

BOOM!

The impact was like the dawn of creation. The World of Void, a place of absolute nothingness, was suddenly flooded with overwhelming power. Kusu's eyes widened, and she quickly added a third layer of protective shielding to the Cube.

The void itself groaned under the strain. The energy spilled into the multiverse, fracturing space and even freezing time for four minutes across several sectors!

Every Angel and Destroyer in the multiverse felt the shockwave. They turned their heads toward the World of Void in stunned silence, wondering what could possibly have caused such a terrifying surge of power.

In the Palace of Zen-Oh, the Grand Lord clapped even harder. "Whis is so cool!"

The Grand Priest wore a proud, yet slightly exasperated smile. "To think he was hiding that much. He likely gained that boost during the month he spent training with his eldest sister. If he actually practiced regularly instead of lounging around with Beerus, he'd be even further along. That cat really is a bad influence."

Back on the Sacred World of the Kai, thirty minutes after the fight had ended, everyone had returned.

"A-choo!" Beerus sneezed violently. "Someone is definitely talking trash about me."

"Are you okay, Lord Beerus?" Gran asked.

"I'm fine. I'm used to being hated," Beerus muttered, waving it off. He turned his gaze to Whis, as did everyone else—even a very disgruntled Vados.

"Ho-ho-ho! Why is everyone staring?" Whis asked innocently.

"Whis... was that really the full extent of an Angel's power?" Gran was still vibrating with excitement. That last punch could have turned a universe into dust.

"It was a bit of Angelic Energy, yes," Whis said nonchalantly.

"I can't believe you've grown this much," Vados sighed. "I suppose I can't bully you anymore. I should have done it more often while I had the chance." She looked at the unconscious, swollen Champa on the grass and gave him a sharp kick.

"Ungh... Is it morning?" Champa sat up, stretching his arms and blinking.

Vados facepalmed. Having a Destroyer like this was a stain on her reputation. "Lord Champa and I have overstayed our welcome. It's time to go." She tipped her head to the group, grabbed the confused Champa by the scruff of his neck, and vanished in a streak of light.

Kusu watched them leave before turning back to Whis. "The rest of our siblings definitely noticed that little display. You won't be able to hide your strength anymore."

"That's fine," Whis said with a shrug.

"You're still as lazy as ever, though," Kusu noted with a mock-stern face. "At this rate, when will you ever reach my level?"

"I'm not lazy, Sister. I'm a connoisseur of life and fine dining. You should try taking a break yourself sometimes."

Kusu rolled her eyes. "You and Beerus both... so much talent, yet so much lethargy." She turned to look at Gran. "Since you two refuse to train yourselves, make sure you don't waste this boy's potential. He actually seems to enjoy working hard."

"Of course," Whis said, patting Gran's head. "With my guidance, he'll surpass all of us eventually."

With a final nod, Kusu also departed, leaving the Sacred World of the Kai in peace once again.
