Chapter 3 - CH:3 - THE SCRIPTED PROTAGONIST

" 'You worthless piece of shit, I hope you were never born' said my mother when I was… I don't know, maybe 3 years old and she also hit me whenever she was angry. I was born in a…"

"Wait did you tell me that you remember what your mother told you when you were THREE YEARS OLD" exclaimed the therapist sitting opposite to me.

"Yes" I said back. "Well you are a prodigy or a genius of some kind" he said now chuckling to himself, but I didn't understand why he laughed at me for being a little more intelligent than him, but I did not ask him.

"Well please continue your…" before he was able to complete his sentence I stood up from my sofa, took my phone from my pocket and rang someone I knew…

"Hello Moriarty speaking, the suspect has been confirmed as the Serial killer please take him into custody" I said to my accomplice now ready to arrest the therapist seated near me who was a prime suspect in a series of murders.

I knew what the reaction of the therapist would be now either angry due to me finding out his real passion or a hatred to kill me and run but I didn't care.

I heard a glass breaking sound and looked back only to see him with a broken vase in his left hand ensuring that he was the criminal who stabbed 3 civilians with his left hand's fingerprints on the tool used to kill.

He charged at me with a terrible posture, with his body weight too forward, forward head position and rounded shoulders I could easily parry him apart, put him down to the ground and KILL HIM WITH HIS OWN VASE.

But I didn't care, I just moved a bit to his right with my hands in the leg pocket and kicked him away where he now fell towards an old antique table and broke it.

He was not able to move and now the cops were inside the room with him being handcuffed. He swore at me, and said,

I WILL KILL YOU

That stirred something inside me, and I knew there was a broken vase beside my right leg right now and I knew what I had to do. I picked it up slowly.

I slowly walked towards the captured criminal struggling to escape from them. I now stood behind him, leaned my head to the side of his neck and said into his ears, "I will Kill you before you kill me then" and sliced his throat.

He struggled no more and fell down. Everyone looked at me in a frightened and doubtful expression. LESTRADE exclaimed at me, "What the hell have you done? You have killed the suspect and now you are a criminal too!"

I said nothing but now I KNEW what was going to happen, Lestrade ordered to hold me captive and they did, but I did not struggle and accepted the order.

I was then brought to the FBI Head Quarters. I was then questioned by higher authorities in the Interrogation rooms fully painted white, a table and two chairs opposite to each other.

"Why did you kill the suspect? Is this planned? Were you an accomplice in crime with him? Did you want yourself to be safe?"

Unlike others who would keep their mouth shut and get into greater trouble I spoke, "No this wasn't planned, No I am not an accomplice, I killed him because he told me that he would kill me and hence to eliminate the threat I killed him"

"What do you mean you eliminated a threat? He was in our custody anyway."

"All I did was eliminate a threat. If you think that as a problem, then are you his friend who will help him escape from prison and hence help him kill me"

He was left speechless then. Lestrade opened the door and came in, saluted to the higher authorities and whispered in their ears. I predicted that my '3500th case' has come to me and in order to help Lestrade, a temporary bail has been brought for me.

The officer now sat down in his chair slowly and said to me, looking at me with a very serious mood, "I think you have already found about… about your new case. There had been a… a… PLANE CRASH IN THE JOHN F. KENNEDY AIRPORT today and our FBI agents there have reported it to be a PLANNED INCIDENT"

"Oh…Okay, then when are we leaving and give me the details about the case as soon as possible, is the site secure for investigation", I asked.

He was the only one who was close to me, who talked to me in a very friendly way even though I often ignored him and only used him when I needed him.

Two months have gone by.

He walked in front of me in the jail I was held in with a file in his hands which was most probably handling CONFIDENTIALS which he told he would show me when we are travelling to the crash site.

I read the file which informed me about a Audio recording from before the plane crash amongst the two pilots with INSIGNIFICANT NAMES.

"It was no doubt a psychological shock obviously but I also think it is not the first time this has happened or is it Lestrade", I asked.

"Yes MORIARTY there has actually been two links that is two murders related to this case, the first one being a suicide by a gun in an Interrogation room when being questioned by the Crime Psychologist. And the second one the more intriguing murder being the Death of the Crime Psychologist himself."

"Well that was an interesting twist of turn and I would like to learn his name and I need to see his clinic before we go to the crash site"

"It was closed down Moriarty, due to no rightful heir of the asset and since it was declining in its business"

"Then take me to the receptionist of the clinic, if you don't know her address then find it… That may lead us to a clue"

Lestrade somehow found out the address of the receptionist. We went to her home immediately. It was a mess.

She lived with her mom in an old rented house, she had cried over something all night, most probably it being her loss of a job and unable to pay her rent to the house owner for 2 months which may have led him/her to throw out the households.

"Lestrade prepare her the money she needs to pay for the rent since we may be needing her for the investigation frequently"

Then I sat on the sofa, bent myself forward, looking down at the floor, and held my hands locked to each other when Lestrade asked the questions about the murder.

"Who was the first witness of the corpse? Where were you before the murder and where did you last see him before his death?"

The series of questions pressured her for sure, after all two strangers have barged into her home in one of the worst situations possible or maybe not the worst ever…

She slowly opened her mouth, only whispers coming out but I observed her voice keenly, she said, "I was the 1st witness, I last saw him a week before his death as he went out of station to some meeting or some work, and I was in my home… He was a good man, paid my salary regularly, treated me as his own daughter… But I was shocked when I… when I…"

"That is enough, Thank you madam. Lestrade let's go." I quickly got up off my sofa and Lestrade did too.

We were heading out, but suddenly a hand grabbed my left hand long sleeve and she said she remembered something and told me that

"ON THE DAY OF HIS DEATH, SOMEONE… AN ENTHUSIASTIC… AND A CHARISMATIC MAN CAME TO ME AND ASKED ME THAT 'I WANT TO TALK TO 'GOD' JUST ONE MORE TIME' AND SAID THAT 'THE GOD' WAS MY BOSS' ASSISTANT"
