"There she is," Aquasteine says, his warm hand on mine despite the cool of the hospital ward, the rest of my mates who I presume were seated on a chair, huddle closer to me, their brows furrowed from worry, their eyes red from lack of sleep.
"Why did you—" Alexis is about to say before he's cut off by Ramses. "I know we all have a lot of questions right now, I do too, but she is in no position to answer these questions, our duty is to our mate right now, not to satisfy our curiosity."
They all nod obediently. "How do you feel?" Aquasteine quizzes. "What did I say about questions?" Ramses shoots back. "Can you calm your ball sacks, I'm trying to care for our mate." A smile curls my lips at their banter, even though I felt like death warmed over me.
"And you're all up in her space, we all care about her as equally as you, give her some space," Ramses says.
"I'm not too sure about that," Aquasteine shoots back, walking away from my bedside to the couch.
