Christina did not sleep that night.
She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling while Daniel slept beside her as if nothing had happened. His back was facing her, and the distance between them felt larger than the entire city.
Three years of marriage, yet she had never felt so lonely.
In the morning, Christina woke up early and prepared breakfast as usual. Eggs, toast, and black coffee — Daniel's favorite.
When Daniel came downstairs, he didn't even look at her.
"I have a meeting. I'm leaving early," he said coldly.
Christina hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"Daniel… about the hospital test…"
"I said I don't have time," he interrupted, putting on his watch.
Christina lowered her eyes.
She had always been gentle, always patient, always the perfect wife. But today, something inside her felt different.
"Daniel," she said softly, "we are husband and wife. If there is a problem, we should face it together."
Daniel suddenly slammed the table with his hand.
"There is no problem with me!"
Christina was shocked by his reaction.
He had never reacted like this before.
Why was he so angry?
Before she could say anything else, Daniel grabbed his jacket and left the house.
The door slammed loudly.
Christina stood alone in the dining room, looking at the breakfast she had prepared. Slowly, she sat down and ate alone.
The food tasted like nothing.
Her phone suddenly vibrated. It was a message from an unknown number.
Unknown Number:
"If you want to know where your husband is every night, come to Moonlight Hotel tonight at 9 PM."
Christina's hands froze.
Her heart started beating fast.
She stared at the message for a long time.
Was this a joke?
Or… was this the truth?
That night, Christina stood in front of Moonlight Hotel. The building lights were bright, and luxury cars were parked outside.
Her heart was beating so fast she could barely breathe.
She walked inside slowly and asked the receptionist with a trembling voice:
"Room 808… please."
The receptionist looked at her strangely but still gave her the room number direction.
Christina walked toward the elevator like a robot. Her mind was empty, but her heart was full of fear.
When she stood in front of Room 808, her hands were shaking.
She slowly pushed the door open.
And then she saw it.
Daniel… on the bed… with another woman.
Christina felt like the world stopped.
The sound of the door made Daniel turn his head.
When he saw Christina, his eyes widened in shock.
"Christina?!"
The woman beside him quickly covered herself with the blanket.
Christina stood there, silent, her face pale.
She did not scream.
She did not cry.
She just looked at him quietly.
But her eyes… were completely broken.
"How long?" she asked softly.
Daniel said nothing.
"How long have you been cheating on me?"
Daniel frowned and stood up, not even looking guilty.
"So you found out. Good. Saves me the trouble of telling you."
Christina felt her heart shatter completely.
"I wanted to tell you anyway," Daniel continued coldly.
"My family already arranged my marriage with her."
Christina looked at the woman on the bed.
She was young, beautiful, and… pregnant.
Christina's eyes slowly moved to the woman's belly.
Her voice trembled.
"She's… pregnant?"
Daniel looked at her coldly and said the words that destroyed her life.
"Yes. Unlike you, she can give me a child."
At that moment, Christina felt like someone stabbed her heart.
She looked at Daniel for a long time.
Then she nodded slowly.
"I understand," she said quietly.
Daniel was surprised by her calm reaction.
"I will sign the divorce papers."
After saying that, Christina turned around and left the room.
The moment the elevator door closed, her legs gave up and she fell to the floor, crying silently.
That night, Christina lost her husband…
