Chapter 101 - Chapter 97: I Like You

Even after the attendants told them they were free to ask for anything and that the royal hospitality team would fulfill any request, Wada's group still sat stiffly on the sofas, too nervous to move recklessly. In the end, all they did was eat the food already laid out for them and make no further demands.

Luminous Dyna was so hungry her stomach was practically glued to her spine, yet even she did not ask for more. This was a royal service team, after all. Who knew if they were directly under the Queen of England herself…? In any case, when a horse girl got hungry, her thoughts tended to spiral. And once she started spiraling, every imagined possibility grew larger and larger in her head. In the end, Dyna decided that once they were settled in properly, she would sneak off alone to find something else to eat.

"Dyna… just what kind of status does this European friend of yours have? To be able to summon a royal reception team to take care of us… this is honestly a bit overwhelming…" Even Opera O had never seen a scene like this before, so she was unusually restrained. In Japan, her unmatched霸王 aura had vanished entirely, replaced by a meek and well-behaved Opera O.

To that, Dyna rubbed her cheek with an equally confused look. "Actually, the friend I know is a French horse girl. But it seems like she asked another friend to help us arrange this… Um… this is…" She glanced down at the place name Zhuofu had sent her and, stumbling over the unfamiliar syllables, read it aloud. "A training ground in Saint Ives?"

Foreign place names like this were a nightmare for her to pronounce. Then again, that was only natural. She had been a complete country bumpkin from beginning to end. Even when visiting an unfamiliar racecourse in Japan, she would spend ages marveling over everything. Britain—a place she had only ever seen in TV news—was another matter entirely.

Opera O, however, was surprisingly familiar with British locations and famous sights, so she answered, "Saint Ives, yes. The crescent-shaped golden beach there is very famous. But if we're going from here… it'll take four or five hours, won't it?"

"Eh? Four or five hours?" Dyna froze. She had assumed they would find somewhere close by to settle in and rest tonight. She had never imagined the plan was to send them directly to the summer camp site. And if it was in a famous tourist area, then wouldn't it be packed with people?

The thought instantly made her uncomfortable. A seaside training camp meant swimsuits, and she did not own anything like a school swimsuit. She would have to wear a standard one-piece. And for the sake of movement, she could not even add a skirt to it…

She already felt mortified enough in Tracen's pool. If it were on a crowded beach like that… with that much embarrassment piling up, Dyna honestly felt she might just dive into the sea and float away for several months, only returning when it was finally time to go home.

But that was not her immediate problem. Right now, she had to swallow her pride and ask the attendants for more food. If they were really going to spend another four or five hours getting to Saint Ives, she was absolutely going to starve to death.

"Please wait just a moment. We will bring you more food right away."

The attendant was delighted. They had been idle to the point of panic. If this reception ended with Miss Frankel discovering they had not received a single additional request from her guests, she might very well get angry with them. Fortunately, Dyna had finally asked for food. Otherwise, the attendant might have ended up dropping hints just to make them ask for something.

So he immediately summoned the team's head chef and had him prepare what amounted to a full spread of Japanese cuisine for Dyna. Though traditional British food could be hard to praise, the royal hospitality team's chef had at least touched upon the cuisines of most countries in the world. He knew enough.

"Ohhh! Finally, some work! I'm going to make that horse girl crawl out of this room stuffed to the brim!" the chef cried excitedly, flipping pans with both hands. Cooking for horse girls was one of his greatest pleasures. There was no praise more glorious to a chef than hearing, It's delicious!

When Frankel arrived, she had only just stepped out of the car and cheerfully waved through the open window. "Thanks, mister driver Next we'll be switching to a bigger car, so I'm leaving the rest to you"

Behind her, Zhuofu followed with a flushed face, still panting faintly. During the ride, Frankel's chest had nearly smothered her to death several times over. Anyone would have ended up looking like that.

The driver nodded. "Six people. I'll bring the proper vehicle. Please don't worry, miss. By the time you leave the terminal, you'll be able to get straight in and head for Saint Ives."

Completely satisfied, Frankel nodded, grabbed Zhuofu by the hand, and strode boldly toward the private lounge she had arranged for Dyna's group.

"Off we go, little Zhuofu! Time to meet your friends~ By the way, what language should I use with them? English? French? Hmm… my Japanese isn't perfect, but it's good enough, right?"

She was still speaking French to Zhuofu, and hearing all those possibilities made Zhuofu marvel yet again over how many languages Frankel seemed to know. English, French, and Japanese were already enough to give her a headache…

Could Frankel even speak Chinese? But why would she need Chinese? Was she planning to race in China? Hong Kong's races should not really mean much to her, should they? Zhuofu could not make sense of it, but she still offered a suggestion.

"If you're confident in your Japanese, then Japanese would definitely be best."

After all, back when Zhuofu and Dyna had tried speaking to each other in English, the result had been hilariously awful on both sides. Everyone knew trying not to laugh was incredibly hard—and yet the two of them had somehow spent over a month holding it in.

"Soga Got it" Frankel clapped her hands brightly.

Japanese horse girls were all so small and cute, after all~ In her impression, they were all soft and fragrant and adorable. The thought alone had made her tremendously interested. She, too, wanted a tiny soft little thing she could scoop into her arms and squish whenever she pleased.

Unfortunately, every horse girl around her was busy racing, and no one had the time for that.

Of course, given her rank as a baroness, Frankel could easily charm whichever horse girls she found pleasing—but she had no intention of becoming like her elder sister Galileo, who flirted all over the place and nearly ended up with furious women marching to her doorstep. Thankfully, Sea the Stars had managed to calm the enraged horse girls at the time, tie Galileo up, and throw her out as compensation. From that incident, Frankel had learned one very important lesson—

Do not casually flirt with emotionally charged young horse girls. Otherwise they really would storm your home and make you disappear.

Galileo had only just returned home a few days ago. Her coat still shone as beautifully as ever, but the desolation written on her face was unmistakable.

Just imagining it was horrifying enough. And so Frankel had firmly resolved to be a one-hearted, devoted horse girl.

"Ohhh So this is the place, right? Smells so good Are they eating in there?"

She noticed the attendants at the entrance and nodded at them. The room's soundproofing was excellent, so they could hear nothing from outside. As for the bell they had left inside, it was electronically wired—if it was shaken, the signal would register no matter how far away they were. A private lounge of this caliber naturally would not skimp on soundproofing.

"Yes, miss. That chestnut-haired horse girl seems to have quite an appetite. This is already the third time she has requested more food."

The attendants were positively delighted. Apparently she had merely been too shy to ask before. Now that she had finally let go of that restraint and given them work to do, they were overjoyed.

Frankel gave that some thought, tapping a finger against her cheek as she removed her sunglasses. "I see~ Thanks for all your hard work. We'll probably be a little while longer, so please keep waiting, okay?"

"It is our duty, miss. Please feel free to command us. We will serve you with all our hearts."

"Good~"

And with that, Frankel brought Zhuofu straight to the door and pushed it open.

Inside, Dyna was completely immersed in devouring food. She was so hungry that she was barely tasting anything before swallowing it, almost like Hakkai. Since there were no outsiders present, she had stopped caring how she looked. A mountain of empty plates sat nearby waiting to be cleared, and though she was eating quickly, her movements still carried a certain grace.

The moment Frankel saw Luminous Dyna's eyes, she was stunned.

They were red—like red gemstones.

Frankel had never seen eyes that beautiful, that deep reddish chestnut. And Dyna's chestnut hair was just as lovely, clearly maintained with extraordinary care. She wore a T-shirt under a white jacket, with khaki jeans hugging her legs in a way that traced out their elegant line. Frankel could see the strength hidden beneath those jeans. At first glance, what struck her most was Dyna's figure—but the moment one sensed her aura at all, it became obvious that immense power slumbered inside her.

Like a volcano. One that would only erupt under the stimulus of the racetrack.

Frankel stared, momentarily speechless.

Meanwhile, Wada's group stared just as blankly at the suddenly arrived Frankel and Zhuofu. Zhuofu, in particular, looked unbearably awkward.

Still, she forced herself to speak, in somewhat stiff Japanese. "Hello~? I'm Dyna's friend, Zhuofu. This is Frankel. She's also a horse girl running in the Classics this year, just like Dyna…"

Before Zhuofu could even finish, Frankel had already transformed into a flash of light and appeared right behind Dyna. She was just about to do something when Zhuofu yanked her back.

"Haha… She's also the one who helped arrange the training site for us. She's a special baroness in Britain, and at the same time a member of the Al Juddmonte royal family in Dubai."

"Ro… royal family?!" Opera O had never imagined a horse girl of that status would help them, so she turned in even greater shock to stare at Dyna—who had only just finished another bowl of food and finally looked up. She was still chewing when she saw Frankel and nearly choked.

She hurriedly pulled out a napkin, wiped her mouth, stood, and bowed all in one practiced motion. "Hello! Miss Frankel—no, Baroness Frankel! It's an honor to meet you. I'm terribly sorry you had to see me in such an embarrassing state… but the flight from Japan to Britain was so long, I got a little too hungry… Please don't mind it!"

Perhaps this was what horse girl instinct looked like under pressure. Dyna's English came out in one smooth, remarkably fluent stream. The moment Frankel heard it, her eyes lit up even more.

In perfectly natural Japanese, she replied, "It's fine, it's fine I don't mind at all! You really are a beautiful horse girl"

"Eh?"

Beautiful? Now? Dyna could not make sense of that timing at all. Still, she answered honestly, "Maybe… so?"

With a hand to her forehead, Zhuofu understood the situation immediately. Frankel was, to some extent, a face enthusiast. Strictly speaking, Dyna's features were not impossibly dazzling by horse-girl standards—this was a world where nearly everyone looked like an elf. But the aura she carried made up the difference many times over. Frankel had not fallen for Dyna's looks alone. She had been drawn in by her atmosphere—that warmth that radiated from head to toe, the kind that made anyone facing her feel comfortable.

"Mmhm So you're the Luminous Dyna little Zhuofu told me about Let's get acquainted. I'm Frankel. You can just call me Frankel—or little Fran—normally, okay? Because~ well, you do look a bit older than me, after all."

Frankel acted as though they had known each other forever, and Dyna had never been good at handling people this naturally familiar.

As a result, the lounge quickly split into two groups:

Dyna and Frankel on one side.

Wada, Qirui Jun, Opera O, and Zhuofu on the other.

"So… is Baroness Frankel always like this?" Wada asked quietly.

"Not really… Most of the time, she has this smiling expression that makes it impossible to tell what she's thinking. Honestly, this is my first time seeing her act like this too. I haven't known little Fran for very long…" Zhuofu explained, then after a pause added, "Actually, the way we met was kind of funny. I do have a little Al Juddmonte royal blood myself, so by family hierarchy, I really should be calling her older sister."

Back then, the Al Juddmonte side had even wanted to give Zhuofu a formal royal title in Dubai, but she had refused. She had grown up in France. Dubai felt far too distant from her life, so there was no point. Even so, after repeated refusals, Al Juddmonte still insisted on sending her tens of thousands a month as pocket money.

Zhuofu could only say that once again she had smelled the stench of Middle Eastern wealth.

Of course, once all that money landed on her, it somehow turned fragrant.

Qirui Jun fell into deep thought. The grandmotherly part of her brain could not quite process all of this. In the end, she gave up thinking about it entirely.

"Hey, hey Want to exchange contact info? I can show you around Britain all summer, you know?"

Frankel took out her phone. The gold ornament on its case was so blatant that Dyna had no doubt it was made from real gold. Faced with Frankel's request, Dyna naturally had no reason to refuse.

Once she obtained Dyna's contact information, Frankel's delight only deepened. The moment she put her phone away, Dyna's own phone buzzed softly with a new message.

Dyna had wanted to look at it immediately, but with Frankel right there, she held herself back. Checking her phone now would feel disrespectful, wouldn't it?

Seeing Dyna put it away unread, Frankel's smile widened.

Because the person who had sent that first message… was Frankel herself.

And she had sent it precisely because she knew Dyna would be too polite to read it immediately.

Frankel had never really believed in love at first sight before. But the moment she met Luminous Dyna, her view changed completely.

Horse girls really could fall in love at first sight.

Luminous Dyna was strong, beautiful, and carried a steadfastness in those lovely eyes. She was like a rare flower blooming high in the mountains—appearing before Frankel in full, vivid glory, and capturing her in an instant.

And the message Frankel had sent her was as simple as could be.

Just a few words.

I like you.
