Gina rushed up from her seat as soon as she saw Nikos Lykaion approaching the office door. "Sir…sir…you can't go in—"
He did not knock before entering Leander's office. The heavy doors swung open with enough force. His expression remained hard as he stepped inside.
Even in his early fifties, he carried himself like a man much younger. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Sharp jaw hidden beneath neatly trimmed silver-black beards. His grey-streaked hair was combed up and lay neatly at the sides. The expensive charcoal coat hanging over his frame only added to the quiet authority that followed him everywhere.
Leander looked up from behind his desk the moment he walked in. The tension settled between them immediately. For a second, neither of them spoke.
Then, Leander waved at his secretary. "Leave us, Gina."
"I'm sorry, sir." She bowed her head and left.
