CeCe lay flat on her back, staring at the ceiling as if the rough stone above her would suddenly open up and swallow her whole out of pity, her entire body still trembling in waves that refused to calm no matter how many times she told herself it was over, that she was back, that nothing was chasing her anymore… but her heart didn't get the message because it kept pounding like she was still running for her life.
She dragged the blanket fur tighter around herself, curling like that would protect her from whatever madness she had just experienced, her lips pressed into a thin line as the memory replayed whether she liked it or not.
That terrifying creature with those cursed nine tails that looked nothing like anything cute or magical, but instead like something dragged straight out of a nightmare designed to ruin her entire existence.
"Ahhh…" she groaned softly, squeezing her eyes shut as if that would erase it. "I don't ever want to experience that again in my life, I swear…"
