Mary was there, left speechless and blushing, as I had never seen her. Her face was more shocked and more disturbed than mine was, yet her face still bloomed internally and externally.
"My Lord? W-What is Lord William doing here?" I asked Lord Sebastian, casually shifting from Mary's still face.
"He's here to help us, my lady!" He said, walking toward me, smiling. His cool demeanor made my heart flutter.
"H-How? Does he know?" I asked him, lowering my eyes as his eyes caused my throat to dry.
"Don't worry, he won't tell anyone. Besides, we'll have another person to help us, and yes, he is good at finding things." He said, taking another step toward me, tickling his right dimple, making me nauseous.
"Trust me, my Lady! I won't tell anyone, and besides, I believe you." He said, slightly bowing to me as I shifted my wide-opened eyes toward him. He looked less annoying that night as compared to the other day.
"Aureline, isn't it great? Now there are four of us, just here to help you!" Mary said, glancing shyly at Lord William, as he glanced smirking toward her back. She was probably saying that because she had started to like him.
"Fine, let's start now!" I looked back toward Lord Sebastian, still there, looking at me, showing off his hypnotizing dimples.
Suddenly, I heard someone running toward the kitchen. We all turned to look who it was, and it was the doorman.
He stopped and, with a shaking breath, said, "Mary, the viscountess, she's back!" His voice trembled due to constant running.
"What?!" Mary and I looked at each other in shock.
"Already? How?" My face was in constant shock.
"Don't worry, I'll go and check!" She stepped toward me as she patted my back.
"In the meantime, hide somewhere!" She said before turning, but as she turned, Lord William grabbed her hand and said teasingly, "Can I come with you too, Mary?"
"Of course not, my lord." She smiled shyly as she made her hand free from his charming grip before walking away.
"We must get somewhere." I held my head.
"Do you read books, my Lady?" Lord Sebastian asked me.
"Eh, yes! But why are you asking that right now?" I asked him back.
"Good! Then can I see your collection? In this way, we can hide and maybe have a moment together." I again lowered my gaze, blushing warmly.
"That seems great, my Lord," I said. I started walking away, gesturing to him slightly to follow me.
"And what about me, Sebastian?" He asked, placing his hand at his waist.
"You can hide behind the cabinets." He said teasingly, leaving him alone in that kitchen.
"So how much do you like reading?" He asked me as we walked steadily toward my room. I did not know how he looked as I was leading him.
"Shhh! First, let's get in. What if mother hears your voice?" I hushed as I opened the door. I felt the doorknob was colder this time as I was heated up due to that gentleman's presence.
"Your call, ma'am." He said, warmly as I looked in hid deep eyes.
We entered the room. The crisp-warm air hit us like a swift haze.
"It's pretty!" He said, still smiling.
"Pretty? What?" I asked, as I looked at him again, but this time it was hard to take my eyes off him as he approached me. The distance between us decreased so that I felt his breath on my skin.
"Your room! It's pretty, but I have to admit that it's nothing compared to your beauty, my lady." I felt his every breath on my face. His tone was whispery.
"Th-thank you, my lord!" I said. I tried very hard to look somewhere else, but something about him made me freeze. His face looked more daring, more gorgeous, more charming, and more dangerous from that near point.
"Just call me by my name, my Lady. Just call me Sebastian." He said, smiling. His dimples looked hollower as his smile was hypnotizing.
I just glared at his face for a minute until he said, "If you don't mind, my Lady, can I call you by your name?" His hand slowly brushed mine, sending me shivers down my spine. His touch gave me goosebumps.
"Y-yes, my Lord, I mean Sebastian." I smiled at him hesitantly.
"Didn't you came her for having a look at my book collection?" I finally left the contact with his daring eyes and his touch.
"Yes, well, you are correct, my friend, Aureline." His words made me flutter for another moment. He made me contact his eyes for the second time. Just then, Mary opened the door, revealing her relieved face.
"Did I interrupt something?" Her tone was full of tease as she saw Sebastian and me.
"Of course, no, Mary!" I said as I walked toward her.
"She's gone now, for sure!" Said Mary after smiling at me teasingly.
"But why did she even come back?" I asked her as I tried very hard to ignore his presence, but it just became difficult and difficult for me overtime. I was still feeling his slight touch at the front of my hand.
"She said that she left her purse in the Drawing room." She said. Her hands were all sweaty as I noticed them.
"What is the deal with your hands?" I asked her as I pulled her right hand toward me.
"Eh, nothing!" She said nervously.
"Tell me, right away, Mary!" I said. I was frightened yet determined to find out.
"Yes, Aureline, I will, but let's go downstairs for now." She glanced at Sebastian, trying to explain to me that it was his presence that was making her stay silent.
"Is it anything related to mama?" I asked her a question again.
"No, Aureline! This is not anything related to the viscountess or anything bad." She assured me gently, smiling, snatching her hand away as she opened the door and started walking away.
Just then, I felt a familiar hand placed warmly at my shoulder from behind, "We have a dream to investigate, Aureline." Sebastian said, gesturing me to take the lead.
