"Yamauchi-kun," she began, her voice echoing clearly in the dead-quiet room. "I believe you owe this class more than just a silent walk to your seat."
Various thoughts whirled in my mind, as something felt a bit off.
"What is it, everyone? Do you all really believe I have something going on with Chabashira sensei or what? That's just a rumor! And that pic is just a coincidence, that's all. Happy now?", I talked so fast arrogantly, that I sounded like Yamauchi, myself.
But their expression, and that atmosphere didn't change.
"Is that so?", Horikita spoke up, "Then, I am sure you can explain this."
She took out her phone, and ran a sound recording.
"...Huh?"
At first I had no idea what this was about, but as I listened on the recording, things looked pretty grim for me.
Because this recording had my voice in it.
Of that very moment when I spoke with that class B girl, Chihiro, and the entire scheming to trap Chabashira.
Each and every word was clear, and loud, heard by the entire class.
As soon as the recording stopped, I looked around everyone, as if trying to say that its not me.
But it was too late.
Because the problem was not that I schemed against my own homeroom teacher.
The troubling fact, which made me look like an enemy was that, this recording was sent to Horikita from Sakayanagi.
Now from a neutral bystander, it would look like, Yamauchi took orders from Sakayanagi, to weave this scheme with that Chihiro girl, to jeopardize my class' position.
My voice was as clear as a day, but the girl's voice was not confirmed by the others, so they don't really know who the other person was.
This conversation took place after that fight last evening, when I talked with Chihiro, about the contract, behind the infirmary.
I had mae sure that no one was around us, while we talked.
So, how in the world, Sakayanagi got her hands on this recording.
One clear hypothesis is the fact that I have been betrayed by Chihiro.
We are not exactly acquaintances, so she had no reason not to sell me out.
I knew this before I made that contract with her, that there is a chance that this might happen.
Yet, I went on with the contract, because of her character.
Chihiro Shiranami is a good straight forward person, as I have said before, to which I concluded after revitalizing Yamauchi's memory of her.
She would not do anything like that, to her benefactor.
So, either I made a wrong judgement, or there was someone else present at that scene who recorded our conversation.
I took a step back, and fully recalled the ruckus from presious evening, and calculated a few suspects who might have done so.
But, that wasn't the problem here.
The main problem is the fact that I have been working for Sakayanagi, a clear enemy of our class.
It didn't take much time for her, to turn the entire class against me.
Now, if it was the same old Yamauchi, he would have defended himself, with rubbish claims, etc.
What about me?
Was there anyone who was in my support?
If I try defending myself, some might stand up for me, like Sudo, and Ike, and maybe Kushida, as she was present at the karaoke, which I attended too, and maybe Hirata as well, as he is a goody-two-shoes.
But, the majority of them, really wouldn't understand.
Just as I was about to say my piece in this temporary trial, the sudden knock on the front door, made the entire class to turn their heads towards the source of the knock.
And it was the finla nail in the coffin for me, in this narrative driven scheme against me.
"Is Yamauchi Haruki-kun here?", a devilish smile curled up on her face, as Sakayanagi appeared right in front of everyone, as if she was waiting for everyone, to listen to the recording.
Her presence only solidified the theory that Yamauchi Haruki is a traitor.
"Ha...she got me....", I thought to myself, as I made my way out of the class, to have a talk with Sakayanagi.
Things got a lot more tedious, cause of the next special exam.
The In-Class voting, in which you have to vote someone out of this class.
As I have become a traitor of the class, its not hard to guess who they are gonna vote.
Now then, what should I do?
