CHAPTER 10
ALL EYES ON HER
JAY JAY P.O.V.
The gate felt heavier today.
Same school. Same place. But not the same feeling.
I stepped in slowly. Eyes everywhere.
Whispers followed me. not loud. But enough.
"They're from Section E..."
"That's her..."
"The one from yesterday..."
I exhaled quietly.
JAY (to herself):
"Just walk."
So I did. Straight to class.
The noise was there. As always. But i stopped. The moment I entered. Silence
Not complete. But different. Watching. Judging. Waiting.
Ci-n stood up instantly.
CI-N: "You're back!"
I blinked.
JAY:"Obviously."
He grinned. Relieved
CI-N: "Good. That means you didn't die."
JAY:"That was the expectation?"
CI-N: "Low expectations keep me happy."
I almost smiled. ALMOST.
RORY (observing): "No bandage."
EDRIX (quiet): "Covered. Hair."
I froze for a split second.
They noticed. Of course they did.
Rory leaned back. Eyes sharp.
RORY: "You don't like attention."
JAY: "You don't like silence."
RORY: "Fair."
Edrix didn't speak. But his gaze lingered.
Then came a voice-
CALIX: "You came back."
I didn't turn immediately.
then I did..
He was already looking at me.
Same expression. Same challenge.
CALIX: "I thought you'd run."
I leaned slightly against the desk.
JAY: "I don't run."
A few reaction errupted.
He smirked.
CALIX: "Good."
He stood up. Walked closer.
Now everyone was watching.
CALIX:"Then don't hold back this time."
There it is push. Direct. I felt it this time. That slight shift inside. Dangerous.
Before I could respond,
KEIFER: "Sit down, Calix."
Calix stopped. didn't turn.
CALIX: "...Why?"
Keifer didn't move. Didn't even look at him.
KEIFER:"You're annoying."
Calix let out a small breath. almost a laugh. and stepped back.
CALIX: "Fine."
Rory leaned slightly toward Edrix.
RORY (low): "Reaction control."
EDRIX: "Delayed trigger."
RORY: "Yesterday wasn't random."
Edrix nodded.
EDRIX: "I checked."
RORY: "And?"
EDRIX:"She got expelled."
Rory's eyes sharpened.
EDRIX:"Violence case."
"Details... limited."
Rory leaned back. Thinking.
RORY:"So something big happened."
EDRIX: "And it wasn't recent."
Both of them glanced at me. At the same time
I felt it. The stares. The tension. The curiosity. I ignored it. But, not everything can be ignored.
CI-N (whispering): "You're famous now."
JAY: "I hate you."
CI-N: "You'll get used to it."
I hope not.
KEIFER P.O.V.
Keifer was watching. thinking.
She came back... but she's holding it in
His gaze shifted to Calix, then back to her..
Suddenly- The bell rang
No one moved immediately.
Be cause something has changed. Not loud. But real.
Section E wasn't just watching anymore. They were waiting. For something. Or Someone to break.
I leaned back slightly. This place isn't normal. These people aren't normal. They're watching me like i'm one of them. I closed my eyes for a second. Then opened them.
the class was normal. Atleast for them. But for me.... I don't know what I feel.
The lunch bell rang....
