Chapter 1 - I Logged Out… But My Stats Stayed in Real Life

Chapter 1 — The Game Ended

The world ended at 3:17 AM.

Not with an explosion. Not with a war.

With a message.

[SERVER SHUTDOWN INITIATED]

I stared at the screen, fingers frozen on my keyboard.

"No… no, no, no—"

The dungeon boss was at 1% HP.One hit.

One hit.

Years of grinding. Sleepless nights. Missed chances. Lost friends.

All of it—

[CONNECTION LOST]

Black screen.

Silence.

I didn't move for a long time.

The only light in my room came from the dead monitor, reflecting my own face back at me.

Level 100.

Top-ranked player.

And now?

Nothing.

"...What a joke."

I leaned back in my chair, laughing quietly.

Not because it was funny.

Because it hurt too much not to.

I don't remember when I fell asleep.

But I remember waking up.

Because something was wrong.

My room felt… different.

Too sharp.

Too clear.

Even the sound of the wind outside felt louder.

"…What?"

I sat up slowly, my body unusually light.

Stronger.

That was the first thing I noticed.

Stronger than I should be.

Then I saw it.

Right in front of my eyes.

Floating.

Transparent.

Impossible.

[STATUS WINDOW]

My breath stopped.

"…No way."

My hand trembled as I reached out—

And the screen moved with my vision.

LEVEL: 100HP: 9999 / 9999MP: 9999 / 9999

STRENGTH: 999AGILITY: 999INTELLIGENCE: 999LUCK: 999

"…That's not funny."

This had to be a dream.

A hallucination.

Something.

I stood up.

Too fast.

The chair behind me shattered.

Silence.

I looked back slowly.

The wooden legs… snapped clean.

Like paper.

"…I didn't even try."

My heartbeat started rising.

Fast.

Too fast.

"No. No, this isn't real."

I walked to the wall.

Placed my hand on it.

"Just a dream."

I pushed.

Lightly.

The wall cracked.

I froze.

A thin fracture spread across the concrete like a spiderweb.

Dust fell.

"…What the hell?"

[SKILL ACTIVATED: SUPER STRENGTH (PASSIVE)]

The message appeared instantly.

Cold.

Mechanical.

Real.

"…Skill?"

My voice came out dry.

Then—

Another message.

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION]You have logged out of the game.

But the system did not log out of you.

Silence filled the room again.

But this time—

It wasn't empty.

It was heavy.

"…So this is real."

I looked at my hands.

Then the cracked wall.

Then the broken chair.

A slow smile formed on my face.

Not happiness.

Not relief.

Something else.

"...If this is real…"

I stepped forward.

The floor creaked under my weight.

"…then the world is about to change."

Outside, in the distance—

Sirens began to echo.

And somewhere…

Not far from here—

Something screamed.
