Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 {Ice Nine Color Lotus Herb}

"I just want it," Ludovica said, her voice firm. Zoey threw up her hands in exasperation.

"Fine, fine, fine! I'm done with you! Now that we've got everything, let's head back. Tomorrow, you'll take the soul train, then the fleet to Blue Star Hera Planet, where Dixia Liyin Academy is located, in Dixia City." Ludovica's frown deepened, her anger growing with each passing moment. She cursed the person who accepted her letter, wishing she could strangle them to death.

Ludovica's expression was a mask of indifference, her eyes cold and unyielding. She was a person who had grown up in a world where emotions were a luxury she couldn't afford. She had learned to shut off her feelings, to numb herself to the pain and suffering around her. And yet, despite this tough exterior, there was a fire burning deep within her, a flame of fury and resentment that threatened to consume her at any moment.

As she thought about the person who had accepted her letter, Ludovica's mind became a maelstrom of violent fantasies. She imagined herself stabbing them, again and again, the blade sinking deep into their flesh as they screamed and begged for mercy. She pictured herself destroying them, tearing them apart with her bare hands, feeling their life force ebb away as she stood over them, triumphant.

But as the fantasies played out in her mind, Ludovica felt a cold, calculating voice whispering in her ear.

"Calm down, Ludovica. Don't let your emotions get the better of you." It was a voice she had learned to listen to, a voice that had kept her alive in a world that seemed determined to destroy her.

With a deep breath, Ludovica pushed the fantasies away, forced herself to calm down. She knew that she couldn't let her emotions control her, not now, not when she had so much to lose. She had to keep her wits about her, had to think clearly and strategically if she was going to survive the challenges that lay ahead.

As she stood there, her eyes fixed on some distant point, Ludovica felt a sense of resolve harden within her. She would not be swayed by her emotions, would not let her desire for revenge cloud her judgment. She would play the game, would use every trick in the book to get what she wanted. And if that meant being ruthless, if that meant hurting others, then so be it. Ludovica was ready to do whatever it took to achieve her goals.

Ludovica's eyes sparkled as she gazed at the 2,000-year-old Ice Nine Color Lotus Herb. She had been searching for this rare herb for ages, and finally, it was in her possession.

With a single petal, she could create an elixir to help her mother, Zoey, who was suffering from a mysterious poison that even seasoned healers couldn't detect.

Ludovica's hands moved with precision as she carefully extracted a petal and began her experiment. Her messy bun and experimental glasses only added to her adorable and beautiful healer persona.

As she worked, Ludovica's focus was solely on the task at hand. She was determined to create the elixir that would save her mother's life. Her hands moved with a precision that belied her tender age, and her eyes shone with a fierce intensity. The experimental glasses perched on the end of her nose, and her messy bun was a testament to her single-minded focus.

But just as she was about to make the final step, Ludovica's eyes widened in shock. She had been so engrossed in her work that she hadn't noticed the dull egg-like object that had been observing her from the shadows. The egg, which seemed to be imbued with a strange energy, began to glow, and Ludovica felt a shiver run down her spine.

The Ice Nine Color Lotus Herb, which had been the key to her experiment, began to glow in response to the egg's energy. Ludovica's eyes widened in horror as she realized that the egg was somehow affecting the herb. The petal she had extracted began to wither and die, and Ludovica felt a wave of despair wash over her.

"No, no, no!" she cried, her hands flying to her mouth in dismay. The herb, which had cost her a small fortune - 150 million star dust - was now ruined. Ludovica felt a wave of frustration wash over her. Why had this happened? What was the purpose of this strange egg-like object?

With a heavy sigh, Ludovica slumped against her workbench, her head in her hands. She had been so close to creating the elixir, and now it seemed like all her efforts had been for nothing. But as she looked up, she saw that the Louis pad on her workbench was still active, displaying a holographic screen that showed the data she had collected.

With a newfound determination, Ludovica leaned forward, her eyes scanning the data on the screen. She would not give up. She would find a way to recreate the elixir, no matter what it took. And as she worked, the door to her bedroom burst open, and a loud voice boomed in, "Ludovica, it's time to go!"

Ludovica's head jerked up, and she turned to face the intruder, a scowl on her face. Who was it? And what did they want?

She was not in the mood for interruptions.

As they arrived at the Nere Station, the tension between them was palpable. Ludovica's nod was her only response to Zoey's words, a subtle acknowledgment of her mother's presence.

The drive had been a silent one, with neither of them breaking the ice. But now, as they stood outside the station, Zoey's words spilled out like a pent-up dam.

"Remember where you came from. This is star dust, there is only 100,000 within this rey card. Remember, if one fights you, let them hit you first, then the rest is self-defense."
