That was the name that beta tester 83 decided that he was going to have his player character named. As the right to be a beta tester for The Decagon, the first true VRMMORPG, was finally happening from Kynatech. Those in the know about these types of things were bump rushing through the requirements just to get the rights to go through the interview process for their beta tester status. Beta tester 83 heard the stories from the other few in their area, where they were being kept for now. There were apparently going to be ten different areas of the facility that they were going to be transported to. That they were slowly being filled up with other beta testers. Thus, for now, they were all just chilling in the different area that was also being managed by Kyantech.
Also, the company was handling things with their real lives, actually managing to put them on pause for now so that they can focus fully and completely on the beta test once it starts.
'That a trillion dollar company owned by a trillionaire for you,' Beta tester 83 thought.
They had so much money that they could literally pay to have ten thousand and nine people's lives put on hold while they are busy with their company's beta test. All without revealing the reasoning why they were doing it, beyond the fact that they were just handling something for Kynatech. Several people were probably in the clear because they more than likely already worked for Kynatech directly or indirectly. One does gain a trillion dollars for both themselves and their company without having a stake in almost everything after all. How they were able to do that and now get stopped is part of the reason they were able to bypass the billions in the first place. Others had failed numerous times to reach the trillion number because they were stopped by the numerous filters of finance.
The Great Filter of Finance
The money equivalent to the ones that people apply to the idea of why they had been able to find life beside themselves in outer space. There were filters out there that prevented life from getting past a certain point in its development. Well, that became a thing differently than one expected, as companies and people came to get richer and richer. The more they gain, the closer they get to losing a majority of it for numerous reasons. Without proper planning, foresight, and vision for themselves, there were all sorts of filters that were preventing them from getting past the first major filter. That being said, gaining one thousand billion dollars, as that was the basically like having merely a single dollar to be a trillionaire after all. It takes reaching a thousand billion ten different times to reach the mythical number of one trillion. The number really was a mythical number, not in the sense that it was not real, but the fact that just getting there in that likelihood might as well be a myth. Yet, no matter how small, there is some truth within every myth, as nothing is formed from nothing. Finding that truth is how one can make them real.
Anyway, Beta tester 83 was already done with their character creation. It was something they did not want to waste much time on, as they were not interested in all the details they were asking for. It did not interest them in the slightest. They just wanted to get into the game as fast as possible, the moment they were going to be allowed to. They were not going to waste people's time by being one of those who are delaying everyone else from logging into the game even a second longer.
Sure, they were told that the character they create can not be changed or altered once they complete the process. That was something Beta tester 83 just brushed off as being for the beta test only, as they claim there is going to be no wipes for this beta test, all they want is. It was a beta test; of course, there are going to be wipes, and probably what they meant was no accounts would be wiped, as characters themselves would be, though. There are countless games where the account itself is left intact, but the character connected to the account is not. There were those who were taking what they were told too seriously and overthinking what they were told. However, there were those who were taking this seriously and really taking their time to create their characters, as that was what annoyed beta tester like number 83.
'Annoying people taking this too seriously, as it's just a beta test.'
These were the thoughts of number 83 and others who shared their opinion about this. If there were only eighty three of them now, and they were some wasting time on the character creation process. They could only imagine how many people were going to overthink and spend possibly days creating a character for themselves.

That name was the only thing that Beta tester 83 spent time on thinking seriously about. As the account name and the player character name were one and the same. Thus, since they were sure that this was the only thing that would not truly get wiped. They spend the most time ensuring that they have a name they want to be connected to their account going forward. As duplicate names were not being allowed, the beta tester who wanted a certain name had to lock it in now. Cause otherwise they could lose the right to use that name for themselves later on, after all. They actually had to come up with real names, too. They were not allowed to use numbers and/or symbols in a name they wanted to claim, at least that version of it. The system was also truly serious about the real name being used, not the person's birth name, of course. That was not required, but it actually had to look and sound like a name, as no random string of numbers was being allowed.
