Lux woke up. Today, his life would change. He would finally enter a beast contract. The only thing standing in his way were just a few hours.
Today was Friday. That meant the weekend was ahead. Lux was looking forward to it, but first, school was calling.
"Hm… so, blood from Alex and Daniel. Those bastards. It will be hard, but I do not feel sorry for them."
Lux clenched his fist. He stared into the corner of his room and thought. Those two had made his life hell for months. He had no problem getting revenge, but in a fair fight they would quickly overpower him.
But he did not need to win.
Making them bleed would be enough.
A cruel grin spread across his face.
"It will be my pleasure to make you both bleed."
Lux did not know why Throne had chosen him. In fact, he knew almost nothing about the beast. Not even its rarity. Still, he hoped it was something divine.
Without wasting more time, Lux stood up, looked around his empty room, and left for school.
On the way, he thought a lot. He hoped Throne was his chance. His chance to change.
The school day passed normally. Too normally. It almost felt like Daniel and Alex somehow knew Lux was planning something. But that made no sense. How could they?
After the final lesson, the teacher made an important announcement.
Soon, every student with a beast would present it and fight in front of the entire school. The event would take place in a few days.
Lux did not even know if he could participate.
But one thing was clear.
He would go through with it.
Later, on a small street, Lux stood behind a tree. He was watching the two boys sitting on a bench.
"Yo, are you joining the tournament?" Alex asked, trying to sound cool.
Lux felt disgusted by his tone. He clenched both fists.
"I cannot wait to crush you," Lux thought with a faint grin.
Daniel answered calmly, "Of course I am joining. What about you?"
After a short pause, Daniel smirked.
"Do not tell me you are scared."
Alex laughed. "No, I just never fought with my beast before."
That was enough.
Lux stepped forward.
The two bullies noticed him immediately. Alex stood up, grinning wickedly.
"What are you doing here? Get lost. You disgust m—"
Before he could finish, Lux moved.
A powerful force shot forward. His fist.
It hit Alex directly in the nose. A crack echoed as blood burst out. Alex was sent flying and crashed onto the ground, unmoving.
Lux whispered coldly, "Good night."
Alex lay still, unconscious. Blood flowed from his nose.
Lux then noticed something else.
The contract appeared beside him in the air.

"Good. Now only you remain," Lux said, turning to Daniel.
Daniel laughed. "Only me? Let us see how long you last, idiot."
He threw a fast punch. Lux had barely a second to react, but he moved on instinct. He ducked and avoided the attack. At the same time, he struck Daniel in the stomach.
The hit landed perfectly.
But it felt… different.
Stronger.
Lux felt it. His body was changing. His bones felt harder. His confidence surged.
"I actually got a chance…" he muttered with a grin.
Daniel stepped back, holding his stomach, staring at Lux in shock.
Then suddenly, Daniel pulled something out of his pocket.
A dagger.
The blade was silver, the handle gold.
Daniel smiled like a madman. "I took this from one of the rich kids in class. Nice, right?"
Lux's pulse rose. Was this idiot really about to use a weapon?
"From the rich kids? You mean Amelia?"
Lux did not know her well, but everyone talked about her. She was the richest girl in school. Beautiful, admired by everyone.
And this bastard robbed her.
Lux clenched his fist.
"You really have no shame, do you?"
Daniel laughed. "You should not talk. You attacked us out of no—"
Before he could finish, Lux struck again.
A powerful punch hit Daniel in the stomach, filled with pure anger. Lux hated thieves, especially those who stole from kind people.
The blow landed faster than before. Daniel had no time to react.
And Lux did not stop.
He punched again. And again.
All the anger from months of bullying exploded. Lux struck Daniel's face repeatedly until his own fists went numb. Blood splattered onto the bench and dripped down.
Finally, Lux let go.
Daniel collapsed like a lifeless sack onto the ground.
"You pigs… leave me alone from now on, or next time will be worse. Understood?"
Alex, still on the ground, nodded weakly.
Lux smirked. "Good. Oh, and I will take this."
He picked up the silver dagger and stepped back before walking away calmly.
"I did everything, right?"
The contract appeared again.

"Oh… right. My own blood."
Before he could finish, he suddenly tripped over his own feet. The dagger pierced into his leg as he hit the ground.
"Argh… well, that works perfectly," he muttered.
Luckily, it was not a serious injury.
The contract appeared once more.

Joy filled his voice as he realized what he had just obtained.
