"The so-called Three Basic Techniques…"
Gulp—gulp—gulp—
Tanaka Shuichi continued scribbling on the blackboard as if nothing had happened.
But at this point, nobody in the class was in the mood to listen.
Every so often, their eyes drifted toward the boy still casually drinking.
The boys looked at him with fear… and a little admiration.
Some of the girls were afraid too.
But others were looking at him with obvious affection.
There was no helping it.
Youyu might be a drunk, but he was absurdly handsome.
His black, slightly messy hair framed a face that was almost unfairly perfect.
His narrow eyes, made hazy by alcohol, somehow only made him look more attractive.
Though he was still very young, the sharp perfection of his features had already made it impossible for the girls in class to look away.
Strangely enough, most people who drank heavily looked rough and unpleasant.
But the more Youyu drank, the better he looked.
Youyu personally blamed that on the Wine God System.
Not that he cared much about appearances.
Looks didn't matter.
Wouldn't it be better to spend that time drinking a few more cups instead?
Ring ring ring—
At that moment, the bell for the end of class rang out, and Tanaka Shuichi let out a long sigh of relief.
"Class dismissed. Everyone, stay safe on your way home."
After saying that in a hurry, he left the classroom as fast as he could.
"Kijin, let's go. Your mom said to come home for dinner."
"Yeah, yeah, I just remembered too. Hurry."
…
After a few awkward exchanges, the boys in class fled like their lives depended on it.
Even most of the girls hurried away.
The reason was simple.
Looking at Youyu, who was very obviously drunk again, even the girls who liked him were afraid he might go on a drunken rampage.
If other people got drunk, they might throw things or make a mess.
If Youyu got drunk, he cut people.
As for Asuma, who had been thoroughly traumatized, he had already run off covering his face the moment class ended.
In front of the whole class, he had charged at Youyu ready to fight—and Youyu had never even drawn his sword. Yet Asuma himself had collapsed in terror.
As the son of the Third Hokage, Asuma was burning with humiliation.
At this point, he only wanted to get away from this awful place and go home to nurse his wounded pride.
"Lin, let's walk home together."
Obito Uchiha awkwardly walked up to Rin Nohara, his head lowered and face red as he spoke.
"Uh…"
After waiting for a long time and hearing no response, Obito finally looked up—
Only to see Rin walking toward Youyu.
…
"Come, let's drink to our hearts' content. Let all else fade away, leaving only wine and poetry."
Clearly drunk off his head, Youyu casually recited lines from his previous life.
"Y-Youyu-kun? Are you okay?"
Kurenai Yuhi stepped to his side, her crimson eyes filled with worry.
Youyu looked obviously drunk. He was even saying things no one could understand.
"Youyu-kun, you really drank too much."
Rin came over too, supporting his unsteady body with one hand.
"Oh? Two pretty little beauties. Want to have a drink with me?"
Youyu lifted his head and grinned when he saw Kurenai and Rin.
Then, before they could react, he pulled both of them into his arms.
"Y-Youyu-kun…"
In Youyu's embrace, both girls looked a little flustered.
It wasn't as if they were unwilling, but…
Kurenai and Rin glanced at each other from up close, their expressions complicated.
Huu… huu…
Just as they were about to say something, they heard soft breathing.
The two girls looked up.
Youyu had fallen asleep.
"Lin! Youyu, you bastard!"
When Obito saw his dream girl pulled into Youyu's arms, he froze for a moment.
Then fury exploded out of him.
Ignoring the fact that he was hopelessly outmatched, he looked ready to charge over and risk his life.
"What are you doing? Go away!"
Still in Youyu's arms, Rin glared at Obito and lowered her voice sharply.
"L-Lin, but…"
Under Rin's angry stare, Obito came to a stop.
"Just leave already. Keep your voice down too. Don't wake Youyu-kun."
"Guh—!"
Obito stood there in a daze.
Looking at Rin's furious expression and listening to those words, he suddenly felt like crying.
He had come to save Rin from being bullied by Youyu.
And now she was annoyed at him for being too loud and possibly waking Youyu up?
"Why are you still standing there? Hurry up and go. What if you wake Youyu-kun?"
Rin frowned.
"I… I got it."
Obito bit his lip and slowly turned away, walking toward the classroom door.
"Obito, keep your footsteps quieter."
Just as he was leaving, Rin's voice reached him again.
His body trembled, but he obeyed her and made sure every step he took was as light as possible.
His back looked unbearably lonely.
