Chapter 20 - Two Million Soul Deal

As for himself, what did it matter if he only lived for ten years.

It was just that, would this female demon agree to his request.

For his family?

Woo Manyeo looked at his foul-smelling soul and let out a mocking laugh. "Fine. Sign the contract now."

Seeing Woo Manyeo agree so easily, Kivan immediately realized he had asked for too little, so he quickly changed his demand.

"No, I want two million. Two million."

Hearing that, the smile on Woo Manyeo's face vanished instantly.

He lightly pulled down part of his sunglasses with his right index finger, which revealing his pitch-black terrifying pupils and staring straight at him, his voice eerie and cold. "Do you think… a rotten gambler's soul like yours is worth that much money?"

"Don't test my patience."

Kivan was so frightened by Woo Manyeo's black eyes that he collapsed onto the ground with a thud.

Even with the wall to lean against, he could not support his weakening body.

"D-d-d-demon…"

The dark, deserted alley fell into an eerie silence.

Only the trash bins gave off waves of stench.

If one listened carefully, the sound of rats stepping on the metal containers could be heard.

A sheet of parchment and an old-fashioned quill pen floated in front of Kivan.

The sight of objects suspended in midair filled him with unprecedented fear.

And there was a voice growing more and more impatient.

"Are you signing or not!"

The impatient scolding slipped out and even Woo Manyeo himself was startled.

Something was wrong.

This was not like him.

He would not be this impulsive.

The way he usually handled things was far more calculated, far more patient.

He replayed everything he had done tonight in his mind.

At first, he thought the growing irritation in his heart was due to the urgency of time and the limited options he had available.

But the moment that impatient shout escaped his mouth, he realized something was off.

He, Woo Manyeo, would never shout at a client.

That did not align with his most basic professional standards.

After carefully sensing himself, he realized that his desire and impulse to grow stronger had been increasing, to the point that it clouded his mind and made him extremely irritable.

The man by the wall, Kivan, trembling in terror as he crookedly signed his name on the contract.

Kivan then staggered out of the alley.

The little demon in the alley had already disappeared or perhaps his eyes could no longer see him.

He had asked that demon when he would receive the money.

The demon had only said that he would know soon.

Could it be… he had been tricked…

Kivan had not gone far from the alley when he received a phone call.

On the other end of the call was a lawyer.

The lawyer said that a distant relative of his was about to die and wanted to gift him one million, which had already been transferred into his account, and told him to check it.
