Not long after entering the Ghoul Restaurant, Shuu Tsukiyama politely excused himself.
"Important matters require my attention."
His tone remained elegant as ever.
He handed the guests over to the restaurant staff.
"Please follow their instructions."
"We will meet again shortly."
His gaze lingered on Ken Kaneki.
A hint of undisguised anticipation flickered in his eyes.
Then—
Tsukiyama turned and disappeared deeper into the luxurious restaurant.
Ren understood perfectly well what was happening.
Tsukiyama was preparing tonight's "main course ceremony."
And Kaneki—
Was the true centerpiece of tonight's feast.
"Gentlemen, please follow me."
A waiter dressed in a sharp black suit bowed politely.
…
The staff led them to separate shower rooms.
Warm water poured down.
Ren closed his eyes.
Letting the water flow over his body.
Afterward—
They were provided with formal black suits.
Soon he was escorted into a luxurious reception room.
A maid wearing a white faceless mask pushed in a silver cart.
On the tray:
Coffee.
Delicate desserts.
"Please enjoy these appetizers."
Her tone was flat.
Then she quietly left.
Ren looked at the food.
But did not touch it.
Most of the dishes prepared by Tsukiyama's restaurant contained human flesh.
Carnage spoke inside his mind.
[There is something mixed inside…]
[You would not enjoy it…]
He nodded silently.
Even after transmigrating into this world—
His human instincts still rejected cannibalism.
Carnage could deal with that part.
The waiter standing nearby said nothing.
Only watched quietly.
"Where is Kaneki?"
Ren asked casually.
"Mr. Kaneki has already gone upstairs."
The waiter answered politely.
"According to Master Tsukiyama's arrangement."
"You will join him shortly."
Ren already knew what that meant.
Kaneki was currently participating in the restaurant's entertainment event.
Being hunted.
Like prey.
After several minutes—
The waiter checked his watch.
"Mr. Ren."
"It is time."
…
This time—
He was escorted to a much larger chamber.
The moment he stepped inside—
Two massive guards wearing white masks appeared from the shadows.
They stood behind him.
Clearly serving as Tsukiyama's personal security.
Then—
A mechanical hum echoed.
The platform beneath his feet began rising.
Like an elevator.
The ceiling opened.
Light poured down.
A few seconds later—
The elevator stopped.
His vision expanded suddenly.
Before him—
A massive arena appeared.
Its structure resembled an ancient Roman colosseum.
Spotlights illuminated the center.
And inside the arena—
Kaneki was running.
Terrified.
Behind him chased a giant figure.
A monstrous ghoul wearing a blood-stained red hood.
The Dismantler.
His enormous body looked like a mountain of flesh.
In his hand—
He dragged a gigantic rusted saw.
Each swing produced a horrifying metallic shriek.
Around the arena—
The stands were filled with ghouls wearing ornate masks.
They screamed.
Roared.
Pounded the railings.
Excitement filled the air.
The scent of blood was everywhere.
Just as Ren stepped forward—
A guard spoke coldly.
"Young Master Tsukiyama instructed us to keep you here."
"You may participate during the tasting stage later."
Ren paused.
Then smiled faintly.
So that's his plan.
His gaze lifted toward the upper VIP balcony.
There—
Tsukiyama leaned elegantly against the railing.
His mask concealed most of his face.
But the mocking smile was obvious.
"What if I refuse?"
Ren turned calmly.
Looking at the guards.
"Then we will take necessary measures."
The second guard spoke quietly.
"Please cooperate."
Inside his mind—
Carnage roared excitedly.
[Kill them…]
[I want rivers of blood…]
Ren watched the arena.
Kaneki was barely escaping the Dismantler's attacks.
"Not yet."
He murmured.
"Let Kaneki learn something first."
First Nishio.
Now Kaneki.
Troublesome juniors.
He continued watching silently.
Until—
The Dismantler raised the massive saw.
Preparing to cleave Kaneki in half.
"…Alright."
Ren moved.
But suddenly—
A gloved hand pressed down on his shoulder.
"Please do not—"
THUD.
The guard's voice stopped instantly.
Two crimson tendrils shot forward like lightning.
Piercing both guards' skulls.
Their bodies collapsed silently.
…
In the arena—
Kaneki backed into a corner.
There was nowhere left to run.
The Dismantler loomed over him.
The enormous saw descended.
Kaneki trembled.
Despair filled his eyes.
He closed them.
Waiting for death.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
No pain came.
Instead—
Warm liquid splashed across his face.
Kaneki slowly opened his eyes.
The Dismantler stood frozen.
A crimson tentacle pierced straight through his chest.
Blood burst outward like a ruptured dam.
The giant saw fell to the ground.
CLANG.
Then—
The massive body collapsed.
Dust rose.
From within it—
A familiar figure stepped forward.
Retracting the crimson tentacle.
"Chiyu-nii!"
…
The arena erupted.
"What is he doing?!"
"Kill him!"
"Who is that ghoul?!"
Ren ignored the screaming crowd.
He pulled Kaneki up from the blood-soaked ground.
"Yomo has been training you."
He examined him briefly.
"You can protect yourself now, right?"
Kaneki nodded shakily.
"Good."
Then—
He turned toward the stands.
His gaze locked onto Tsukiyama.
"Kaneki."
He spoke quietly.
"This is your third lesson."
"All misfortune in this world…"
"…comes from the weakness of the individuals involved."
Then—
He walked forward.
Into the spotlight.
The arena fell silent.
Under hundreds of watching eyes—
His body began to change.
Crimson symbiote matter burst from beneath his skin.
Bones cracked.
Flesh twisted.
Tentacles erupted outward.
His form expanded violently.
Soon—
A towering monster nearly three meters tall stood in the arena.
Carnage.
Its entire body was covered in flowing crimson symbiotic flesh.
Sharp spikes protruded from its head.
Its claws resembled scythes.
Several tentacles twisted behind it like living serpents.
Carnage looked down at the two dead guards.
Disdain filled its pale, pupil-less eyes.
If Tsukiyama's guards were all this weak—
They were no threat.
And the ghouls in the stands?
Ren felt only contempt.
Pampered elites.
Obsessed with "refined dining."
Yet lacking true combat strength.
Not a single kakuja-level ghoul among them.
Even if this entire place was destroyed—
None of them would dare report it.
Because revealing the truth would attract the CCG.
Which meant—
Carnage could slaughter freely.
Carnage opened its massive fanged mouth.
Tentacles twisting wildly behind it.
And roared toward the terrified audience:
"Let there be carnage!!!"
