Chapter 1 - The Canvas of Chaos (The Lead Illustrator)

The city of Dhaka had transformed into a nightmare of corrupted layers. As Kuraish and Nila stepped out of the apartment building, the familiar heat of the city was replaced by a strange, static-filled breeze. The sky wasn't blue or gray—it was a flickering gradient of neon purple and deep black, like a GPU failing under a heavy load.

"Where... where do we go?" Nila whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the city's crumbling reality.

Kuraish looked down at the street. A rickshaw was floating three feet off the ground, its wheels spinning in reverse. The pavement was breaking apart into perfect 1-meter cubes, some of which were simply vanishing into transparency.

Suddenly, a system notification flared in red before Kuraish's eyes:

[World Event: The Great Flattening]

Current Status: 3D Environment converting to 2D Raster.

Warning: Avoid the 'Flat Zones' or you will be compressed.

"We need to move, now!" Kuraish grabbed Nila's hand.

They ran toward the main road, but their path was blocked by a massive, shimmering wall. It looked like a giant, semi-transparent 'Crop Tool' border that was slowly closing in on the neighborhood. Anything outside the border was being cropped out of existence.

"Kuraish, look!" Nila pointed toward the intersection.

A group of survivors was trapped behind a overturned bus. They were being surrounded by 'Glitch Hounds'—beasts made of jagged polygons and red error text. One of the survivors was trying to fight them off with a metal pipe, but the pipe simply passed through the hounds like they were ghosts.

"They're on a 'Hidden Layer'," Kuraish realized. "Physical weapons won't touch them unless the layer is set to 'Normal'."

Kuraish raised his right hand. The Eraser Tool icon on his palm glowed with a fierce white light. He felt a surge of cold energy flowing through his veins. This wasn't like 'Opacity' or 'Move'. This was destructive.

[Active Skill: Eraser Tool]

Target: Glitch Hounds (x5)

Cost: 15 Stamina per deletion.

Kuraish took a deep breath and made a sweeping motion with his hand, as if he were cleaning a whiteboard.

"Delete!" he roared.

As his hand passed through the air, a white trail followed his fingers. Wherever the trail touched a Glitch Hound, the creature didn't just die—it was scrubbed away. One by one, the hounds turned into white dust and vanished, leaving no trace behind.

[Kill Confirmed: +50 XP]

[Stamina: 12/100 - WARNING: LOW STAMINA]

Kuraish stumbled, his head spinning. Using the Eraser felt like pulling a muscle in his brain.

The survivors stared at him in awe and terror. The man with the pipe stepped forward. "Who are you? Are you the one who did this to the world?"

"I'm the one trying to fix it," Kuraish panted, sweat dripping down his face.

Before he could say more, the 'Crop Tool' border moved again, vibrating with a sharp, electronic sound. A nearby building was sliced perfectly in half as the border passed through it.

"We can't stay here," Kuraish said, looking at the group. "If that crop box closes, we're all deleted. We need to find the 'Source File'—the place where this glitch started."

He looked toward the horizon, where the National Parliament Building (Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban) stood. It was glowing with an intense, golden light, looking like the only 'High-Resolution' object in a world of pixels.

"There," Kuraish pointed. "That's the center of the Canvas. That's where we'll find the Editor."

But as they started to move, a giant, shadow-like hand descended from the purple sky. It held a massive, glowing 'Pen Tool'. It began to draw a dark, jagged line across the road, creating a bottomless canyon that separated Kuraish from the other survivors.

[New Boss Detected: The Lead Illustrator]The 'Pen Tool' line in the ground didn't just create a canyon; it started to bleed black ink. The liquid was thick, swirling like a fountain pen's leakage, and from it, smaller, needle-like figures began to emerge. These weren't 'Glitch Wanderers'—they were 'Vector Sentinels', sharp, precise, and incredibly fast.

"Stay back!" Kuraish warned Nila and the survivors. He felt his hands trembling. His stamina was low, and his vision was pulsing with a dull red light.

The sky-high hand of the Lead Illustrator moved again. It began to draw a circle around Kuraish, a glowing blue path that looked like a 'Selection Marquee'.

[Warning: Area Selection in Progress]

[Action: Transform/Distort incoming]

Kuraish realized the danger instantly. If he was selected, the Illustrator could 'Distort' his body, stretching his limbs or crushing his organs with a simple drag of a cursor. He had to break the path before the circle closed.

"I need more power... just one more command," Kuraish muttered, his teeth gritted.

He looked at Nila. She was holding a small, glowing shard she had picked up from a shattered 'Glitch Hound'. It was a 'Hex Code Fragment' (#FFFFFF)—pure, raw light.

"Nila! Throw me that fragment!" Kuraish shouted.

Without hesitation, she tossed the glowing cube. As it touched Kuraish's hand, his stamina bar flashed and refilled to 40%.

[Stamina Boost: +30]

[Temporary Buff: Overprint - Your next command will have double the range.]

Kuraish didn't wait. He didn't use the Eraser this time. Instead, he reached out and 'grabbed' the edge of the blue Selection Path that was closing around them.

"If you want to select me," Kuraish roared at the sky, "then you have to deal with the Invert!"

He tapped his interface with two fingers.

[Command: Invert Selection]

The world flipped. Suddenly, Kuraish and the survivors were outside the selection, and the Vector Sentinels and the Lead Illustrator's hand were inside it.

The giant hand hesitated, its own path now working against it. The Selection Marquee began to shrink, compressing everything inside it. The Vector Sentinels were crushed into single black dots, and the giant hand was forced to retract back into the purple clouds, leaving a trail of digital sparks behind.

The canyon in the road remained, but the immediate threat was gone.

"Is it... over?" Nila asked, her breath hitching.

"No," Kuraish replied, looking at his palm. The 'Eraser' icon was vibrating. "It just realized I'm not a bug in the system. I'm a rival editor. We have to reach the Parliament Building before it 'Saves' these changes to the world."

The group began to move again, weaving through the pixelated ruins of the city. But Kuraish knew his stamina wouldn't last forever. He needed a permanent fix, or he would eventually be 'Deleted' by the creator of this chaos.
