Chapter 2: First Summon! The Blade-Sealing Jōnin!
A clear mechanical voice echoed in Su Ye's mind.
"System?!"
Su Ye was so excited he nearly shouted for joy.
"Help! System!"
[Host, do not worry. During the binding period, the automatic protection mechanism has been activated. You will not suffer any harm.]
Hearing this, Su Ye let out a long sigh of relief.
He had been genuinely afraid the System would activate too late and he'd die before even getting started.
"Then bind it right now!"
[Binding in progress…]
[Ding!]
[System successfully bound!]
Only after hearing "success" did Su Ye finally relax completely.
"System, good thing you showed up in time. A few seconds later and I would've been finished."
[Would the host like to claim the beginner's gift package?]
"Claim it!"

Su Ye was stunned.
Three thousand Jōnin? Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu?
A single beginner package was this generous?
The entire shinobi world probably couldn't gather three thousand Jōnin combined. And Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu was one of Naruto's signature techniques — nearly impossible to kill when used properly.

Su Ye smirked. "System, don't be so stingy."
[What do you mean?]
"You almost showed up too late and let me die. Don't you think you should compensate me?"
[…You want both?]
"Exactly. Children make choices. I want everything."
[Understood.]
To Su Ye's surprise, the System agreed without any hesitation.
"You… really agreed? I was just testing you."

Su Ye was genuinely moved. This System was incredibly generous.

With the System's encouragement, Su Ye felt his confidence surge.
He no longer had anything to fear.
Back in reality, the battle was still raging.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Dozens of identical clones instantly appeared around Su Ye, acting as human shields in front of him.
The Root agents' shuriken tore through many clones, turning them into puffs of white smoke.
"What?! He can use Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu?!"
"That forbidden technique… He actually learned it!"
"Stay calm! He's only a chunin. Even with this jutsu, he's no match for us!"
The three Root members quickly regained their composure. As elite members of Root, they were comparable to regular jōnin. A mere chunin didn't scare them.
The only female agent among them acted first.
"Wind Release: Wind Blade Finger!"
She formed seals rapidly. Chakra gathered at her fingertips, and with a flick, a terrifying three-meter-wide wind blade shot toward Su Ye.
At the exact same moment, Su Ye reached into the special space and summoned his first ninja.
"Come out!"
Bang!
White smoke exploded. A tall, imposing figure appeared in front of Su Ye.
The man had a strong face, broad shoulders, and carried a long blade. He was clearly a close-combat specialist — a blade-wielding Jōnin.
"Wind Release: Rending Slash!"
The summoned Jōnin didn't hesitate. He formed seals with his blade and swung it in a powerful arc.
Crack!
The massive wind blade was sliced in half. The slash continued forward and struck the female Root agent, cutting her cleanly in two before she could even scream.
"Holy shit… that strong?!"
Su Ye's eyes widened in delight.
One slash and a Root elite was dead. This guy was on at least the level of early-series Kakashi or might even be stronger.
"Damn you!"
The remaining two Root members were furious.
"You killed Hatano! I'll kill you!"
They charged with short blades drawn. The blade Jōnin met them head-on without fear.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The three clashed violently, blades flashing in the moonlight.
"Not bad! Fighting two at once and still holding his ground," Su Ye muttered in admiration.
Suddenly, one Root member leaped back and began forming seals.
"Water Release: Water Dra—"
Before he could finish, a cold blade light flashed through the air and sliced cleanly across his throat.
Blood sprayed. The man's eyes filled with terror as his life drained away.
The blade Jōnin followed up with a second decisive strike, finishing him instantly.
"Beautiful!" Su Ye cheered, clapping once.
The last Root member roared in rage and spat out a massive fireball.
"Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"
The fireball wasn't aimed at the summoned Jōnin — it flew straight toward Su Ye.
"Heh. As expected of Root. Pretty crafty."
Su Ye's eyes narrowed. If the attack had targeted the Jōnin, it would likely have been cut down. By aiming at him instead, the Root agent forced the summoned ninja to defend, buying time to either attack or escape.
Unfortunately for him, he had underestimated Su Ye.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
Two fireballs collided in mid-air, sending sparks flying everywhere.
While the Root agent stared in disbelief, a blade light flashed behind him.
Slice!
His head flew off his shoulders.
With all three enemies eliminated, Su Ye finally exhaled in relief. His gaze fell on the bisected female Root agent, and he shook his head.
"Tsk… what a waste. Did he really have to cut her vertically?"
[Ding!]
