In the damp, shadows of the Wanda Plaza level B2 parking garage, Brother De sat in his Camry. Ah Cai, acting as a tactical advisor, leaned over a tablet, his eyes fixed on a pulsating red dot.
"De-ge, the dot is moving! That idiot Haining finished shopping with his mistress. He's heading for the exit," Ah Cai said with a fawning grin. "Ah Hai, get ready. Box him in. Don't let him breathe!"
"What's the point of grabbing the car now?" Ah Hai muttered, gripping the steering wheel. "The guy is a 'dead pig'—he's got no cash left. If we take it back now, we just have the headache of trying to flip it."
"Patience, Ah Hai. We have to play the part," Ah Cai chuckled darkly. "I know Haining. He's still got some emergency stash hidden away. Watch me. I'll make him spit it out willingly."
Just then, Haining's white Prado appeared, carrying a flashy young woman in the passenger seat. Ah Hai floored the accelerator, swinging the Camry directly across the Prado's path. Cras-sh! The two cars collided with a sickening crunch of metal.
"Damn it! Can't you drive?!" Haining roared as he stormed out of the car.
But as soon as he saw Brother De, Ah Hai, and the traitor Ah Cai—who had been missing for half a month—stepping out of the Camry, Haining's knees turned to jelly. "Ah Cai... De-ge... how... how did you find me?"
"Haining, don't give me that act," Ah Cai stepped forward, wearing a mask of fake regret. "I'm sorry, brother. I handled things poorly. But De-ge found me, and this car situation needs a resolution. Ripping out the GPS was useless. Beihai is a small city—where did you think you could hide?"
"I don't have a single cent!" Haining shouted, puffing out his chest in a desperate bluff. "The car is right here. If you've got the guts, just kill me!"
Brother De's face hardened, but Ah Cai quickly stepped in, holding up his phone with a sinister glint in his eye. "Haining, don't be so eager to die. I've got something special here. I was thinking of sending it to my sister-in-law, Honghong. You know, that girl in your passenger seat is quite the looker. I'm sure Honghong would love to meet her."
Haining's face went ghost-white. Cold sweat poured down his neck. "Ah Cai... don't do this. Let's talk business. Don't bring family into this."
"The cash, or the video to your wife?" Ah Cai swayed the phone back and forth. "De-ge isn't a monster. Pay five months' worth of the loan right now, and you keep the car. If not... well, I guess I'll have to invite Honghong down here to help us repossess it."
Haining looked at his mistress, then thought of his fire-tempered wife at home. His mental defenses shattered. "Fine! I'll transfer it! But we have a deal—once I pay this, the car is mine for good. Don't come looking for me again!"
"33,008 yuan. Scan the code," Brother De said, his face a stone mask as he held out the QR payment screen.
As Haining's hands shook while completing the transfer, he peeled away toward the exit like a man escaping a burning building. Ah Hai watched him go, looking confused. "Boss, we really let him drive off for just 30k? Isn't that a massive loss for us?"
"Drive off to where?" Brother De's cold expression broke into a predatory grin. "Ah Hai, keep your eyes on that new tracker we planted. Tonight, when he's fast asleep at the Evergrande complex, call the tow truck. We're bringing that rig back to the warehouse."
He lit a cigarette, his eyes cold as ice. "If I let a 'sucker' like him drive my car for even one extra day, I might as well shut down Hengli Finance."
Ah Cai chimed in immediately, "Genius, Boss! Did you see that girl in his car? Not bad, right? Tonight, after we secure the asset, let me arrange someone just like her for you!"
"Hahaha! Ah Cai, you really are rotten to the core." Brother De slapped Ah Cai on the shoulder. Their laughter echoed through the dark, damp garage, a sound so hollow and cold it could make your skin crawl.
