Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Chapter 3:

Takahashi watched the flying ship thread farther and farther away from him.

He had a conflicted look on his face as if he didn't know whether he should try and find his own way back or seek the aid of others in the area.

Eventually he reached into his tactical suit to pull out what looked like a locket, on opening it, the picture of three people was revealed. One of those three was non other than himself who was carrying a blushing woman while a young girl sat behind his neck on his shoulders.

That photo was one of him and his little family. After the mission earlier, Takahashi was scheduled to return to his home city back to his wife and daughter, but from the looks of things, it would take him a lot longer than he expected.

He stared intently at the locket for awhile before his gaze turned stern and he closed it and kept it back before glancing at the flying ship that was now several Hundreds of meters away.

He had no idea what that portal he'd come through was, but he had an inkling that wherever it was it had brought him, he'd at least get some answers if he found someone to ask.

While he had no idea whether the people piloting such a marvelous ship was friendly, he decided he might as well follow the ship for now until he found out just where the hell he'd been sent to.

He drove through the snow for who knew how long in pursuit of the flying ship, fortunately for him, the ship moved at a modest pace so he was able to keep up.

RUMBLE....

" The Fxck?" Takahashi mumbled, raising a brow when the ground beneath his feet began to tremble. Snow shuffling about all around him.

CREEEE!!!!

A creature resembling a gargantuan worm suddenly emerged from the snow covered earth several paces behind him.

Takahashi made no effort to slow down his bike while staring at the white creature with bits of frost protruding from it's body.

It seemed the creatures reason for emerging was him, because the moment it did, it's head shifted in his direction, revealing a mouth filled with horrifying circular rotating fangs that came in rows upon rows.

Though he'd been momentarily dumbstruck, he quickly regained his composure and twisted his accelerator, causing his bike to speed off at top speed.

" CREEEEEE!!!"

The beast let out a screeching sound, as if enraged its prey was fleeing before it's very eyes.

it quickly dove back into the ground and began chasing after him, the snow ploughing upwards as it sped through the earth.

Takahashi continued to speed forward without looking back, right now he didn't want to test out what would happen if he engaged in a fight with that thing.

Since he'd never heard or seen such a thing before, right now, his thoughts about were he actually was, were begining to spiral towards the thought that he wasn't on Earth anymore.

Of course they were, after seeing the flying ship, he was reluctant to accept it, but now seeing such a ferocious creature, he knew that he had to accept it.

The monster continued to chase after him, but unfortunately, compared to the speed of Takahashi's motorbike, it simply couldn't compare.

The vehicle has been especially modified by Takahashi himself in other to push it past what most bikes could compare to.

And so, after awhile, the man left the creature in the dust and continued to speed off after the flying ship in the distance, with his gear safely locked in place at the back of the bike.

Along the way, several more of those large creatures emerged and began giving chase, but without fail, they all failed to catch up to him and could only watch helplessly as he escaped into the distance.

Takahashi didn't know how long it had been since he'd been driving through this snowy plain, maybe several minutes? Hours?

Time became irrelevant because all he did was patiently follow after the flying ship.

Right now, he was more worried about losing it and being lost in this frozen wilderness.

Perhaps lady luck finally spared him a glance, because off in the distance, he noticed a large forest.

Takashi wasn't quite relieved because he knew it'd be difficult to keep an eye on the flying ship while navigating through the forest but since he didn't really have much of a choice since the flying ship was flying over that very forest, he headed forward.

He had to slow down his speed as he entered the forest due to the countless trees around.

Like he predicted, it became a lot harder to follow the flying ship with his eyes due to how thick the forest canopy was.

But luckily would have it, when it was proving difficult to keep an eye on the ship, he came across a road which cut through the forest.

He slowed his bike to a stop at the road, glanced at it and at the forest canopy. After some hesitation, he drove his bike onto the road.

He decided he might as well try his luck with the road than risk getting lost in the forest by following what he could barely see.

His bike continued to drive along the road for awhile, until eventually, he found himself exiting the forest.

" Finally..." Upon exiting the forest, he spotted what looked like a village in the distance.

VRRR VRRR

Takahashi reeved his bikes engine before speeding towards the village.

With his speed, he arrived at the village with little times spent.

He skilfully drifted to a stop along the village perimeter. Due to the sound of his engine, several villagers popped their heads out of their windows to take a look.

It was already evening by the time Takahashi had arrived and most of them had gone in early for the night.

On seeing a strange visitor atop a strange creation, their eyes were filled with interest.

Takahashi of course noticed their gazes, he watched as some of them stepped out of their houses heading towards him.

Seeing that some of them held makeshift weapons like rakes, hoes and the like in hand, he was glad.
