Synopsis
What if, for some reason, Elsie couldn't use the detention bin? I've reconstructed the original story based on that premise. On August 26, 2023, I received the cover illustration from Minori Tabe! I never expected to receive something like this, so I'm incredibly grateful! Original image: https://www.pixiv.net/artworks/111160583 Note: This story does not belong to me. This is one of the best fanfics I have ever read so I want to share it so that more people can enjoy it. If the original author wishes to remove the work please let me know. Additionally, as this is a non-profit project, I will not be accepting donations. Title: もしエルシィが勾留ビンを使えなかったら Author: 天星

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Dokuro Skull, head of the Ghost Countermeasures Division, was more troubled than ever before.

Rather than saying I was troubled, it would be more accurate to say that I was at a loss because I didn't know what to do.

She is a leader in an organization called the Ke -tai.DrivemosquitosoulTama

And for a certain reason, they are trying to recruit a certain demon into the Soul Runners, or rather, they must recruit one, but... there was a major obstacle to this.

The Runaway Soul Squad is an organization dedicated to capturing the souls of evil sinners who have escaped from hell.

Because runaway souls escape into the cracks of people's hearts, capturing them is extremely difficult.

By filling the void in their hearts, they drive out runaway souls and then capture them.

Since filling the void in people's hearts is, in principle, left to humans, the devil's main job is to advise collaborators and capture runaway souls.collaboratorsBuddy

And there's one demon who needs to be added to the Soul Runners, Elysia de Root Ima... but she can't be captured using the "Detention Bottle," a tool essential for her capture.

She is a bit of a failure, but that alone might be enough to force her in. However, the fact that she cannot be held in bins is a fatal flaw.

There's no point in driving out a runaway soul if you can't capture it. It will only hide in the hearts of other people again.

That would be fine, or rather, not fine at all... In the worst-case scenario, the powerful runaway soul could materialize and be resurrected.

...Should I have another demon handle the capture? No, if they find out I can't use the detention bottles, I'll be fired in an instant.

(What should I do about this...?)

 Therefore, Dokuro was troubled.

Several hours passed without any solution being found... and she made a decision.

"That's right, I'll watch Billy's Boot Camp to change my mood."

It's been unexpectedly shelved. At least it's not being completely dumped on me.

The television she uses is specially made and can even receive radio waves from the human world.

Switch channels and look for Billy's Boot Camp.

Her appearance is that of a skeleton wearing a cloak, and there's absolutely no indication that she needs to train or lose weight... but there must be some issue that only she understands. Probably.

"...Huh? You haven't done it?"

It seems like it's been cancelled due to a special program.

I was slightly annoyed, but I randomly flipped through the channels.

"......!!"

And then it stops at one channel.

"Oh, I hadn't thought of that!"

After doing some research, I made some adjustments to the plan.

"...Okay, that's perfect!"

She grabbed the documents she had just finished writing and ran out of the room.

The TV, which had been left on, was showing some kind of music program.
