Silas walked toward them and stopped a few steps away, his eyes moving from one to the other, reading the way they still held their weapons and how their breathing had not fully settled. He looked at all three of them and shook his head slowly. "Did you guys even sleep at all?"
Alaric stopped the moment he saw him, his body reacting before his mind caught up. "Do you want breakfast?" he asked. Silas shook his head and said, "No. I just woke up. I'm fine."
Sean and Nick lowered their weapons and walked toward them without making anything out of it. The air between the four of them felt different this morning not tense and not relaxed, just aware of itself in a way it hadn't been before. Silas looked at all three of them and asked, "Are you ready?"
They nodded without hesitation, and Silas turned immediately. "Then let's go inside," he said. They walked together toward the entrance as the guards stepped forward to take their weapons.
