Chapter 2 - The Meeting Between A Human And A Goddess

Y/n: So, this is Orairo.

You stood at a very busy street full of adventures walking to a certain destination or to a stand for food or supplies. It was indeed a sight to behold, growing up in a small town far away from the city. You heard tales of the adventures here. To be here was nothing but a pipe dream, a fantasy from when you were just a boy. But now, years of wondering turned into a reality.

Four years ago, your most cherished friend had set out to become an adventurer. Everyone in the town was sadden at this news. The two of you did everything together, laughed, and cried together. You wanted to follow her, but without any proper training, you would fall to the beasts that live in the dungeon.

At least, that's what you thought. But one day, a mysterious swordsman had passed through the town. He displayed his abilities firsthand after defending your home against bandits. When you saw his unique style of sword play, you wanted to learn more about it. So after much begging, he trained you. Showing the basics and imparting a unique power called "Sword Skills."

Armed with the sword he had given you, the two of you set out for different destinations. His path leaned him somewhere else while you journeyed to Orairo. The journey was long, but here you are. You were leagues above many starting adventurers, having money to spend. Skills to protect you, and a goal to keep pushing your forward.

There were only two things that you needed, an advisor and a family to join. Registering to be an adventurer would be your first priority. Then, finding a familia comes afterward.

You walked down the street, you're doing your best to avoid running into anyone. Of course, that proved to be quite difficult. You arrived in Orairo during a busy day, and all adventurers scattered around. Collecting their necessities to tackle the dungeon. Navigating your way around the crowd was a challenge.

There were a few times when you accidentally bumped into someone. You had to apologize quickly, for his high tier gear gave you the impression that he was 1st class adventurer.

After much effort, you finally came across the main building of the guild, Pantheon. Many adventures walked inside, carrying small pouches or even armor and weapons they had scavenged. You followed the adventurers that just went in.

When you entered, the place was just about what you expected. Ladies stood behind a counter, talking to adventurers and giving them information about the floors they would soon explore. Or imparting quests for parties. And just next to it was a cash in. You see adventurers dump monster crystals into a container. And in return, they got gold. Depending on the quality of said crystals. The bigger it is, the more they get.

You were in awe and nervousness. This was the first time you were in a place like this. When you were done staring at the interior of the Pantheon, you stood in the long line for registration. You peeked over to the front of the line, seeing an adventurer talking with an advisor. The conversation seemed like a heated one. You sighed, knowing that this would be a long wait to the front.

And indeed it was. When the moment the adventurer got done, the next person went up and had a long, detailed conversation with the advisor. Which was longer than the last one.

Adventurer: Hey, kid.

You turn to the person behind you. He was a seasoned veteran with impressive gear. Having heavy armor and a two-handed axe. You felt inferior to him. Having a one-handed longsword strapped on your back. Your armor was also different. The only protection on you was the armor plate on your chest, combined with the long black trench coat you have on.

Adventurer: I take it you're new around here.

You gave him a small, friendly smile.

Y/n: Yeah. I came to sign up being an adventurer.

Adventurer: I see. I gotta say, you're wearing quite the light gear.

Y/n: My mentor told me that wearing light armor would be better for my fighting style. Quick and powerful attacks.

Adventurer: You must have gotten quite the mentor.

Y/n: He's an interesting character, but no doubt that's he's the best swordsman out there.

Adventurer#2: Hey, Dave. The party is ready, get going, you old fart.

The adventurer named Dave smiled small.

Dave: Looks like I won't be able to get any info on the floor I want. Well, I suppose it's for the best. Looks like I won't even be able to get at the front anyway.

He glances over at the long line. You laughed just a little. Knowing what he was referring to.

Dave: I wish you the best of luck, future adventurer. Hope to meet again.

Dave leaves the line, waving his head and joining up with his party to traverse the dungeon.

Then began your long wait. You watch adventurers come and go. Leaving the building after getting what they want. Seeing others enter to cash in their spoils from the dungeon. The line grew shorter and shorted during this long wait.

The sun had set, looming over the horizon and shining its beautiful orange shine over Orairo. The light bloomed into the building, illuminating the lobby with its color.

Finally, your turn to talk came. You rest your arms on the counter.

Y/n: Hi. I came to get registered to become an adventurer.

The advisor was a girl with pink hair.

Misha: You have?

She gives you a once over. Examining your gear head to toe. She nods, seemingly satisfied.

Misha: Okay. I just need you to sign a few things.

She pulls out a paper and quill. The paper had many things you had to put down. Race, age, etc. You took your time to fill out all the blanks. You handed the application to her. She looks it over, then nods.

Misha: Normally, I would be your advisor, but I got too many people to deal with at the moment. So I'll pass you onto someone else. Before we can proceed forward, are you in a familia?

Y/n: No. I just arrived in Orairo today.

Misha: That's a shame. I'm afraid we can't permit you to enter the dungeon until you join one. Come back when you officially join a familia.

Y/n: I will. Thank you for your time.

With that objective done, you left the building and went out for fresh air. The light from the sun grew a bit darker. Adventurers were still out and about, but not many of them were around.

You estimated the time for the sun to be fully down would be in 30 minutes. With the alloted time left the day, you summarize that not many people would be up for long. You thought it would be best to rent a room for the night and rest up for the next day.

You walked the streets, checking the buildings, and the signs hung up to see which one was an inn. The search didn't take long, finding one right off the bat.

You entered the inn. Made your way to the counter and asked for a room. Giving them the required amount to rent it, you received the key and been given directions were the room is.

You headed up the stairs and, finding the room at the end of the hall to the left. With key in hand, you unlocked the door. The room wasn't all the spacious. A single bed at the corner, a next to it, and a shower. It had all the things you need before you head to bed.

A yawn escapes your mouth. You undid the straps to your sword sheath and set it on the chair. Then, remove your coat. Setting it down on the edge of the chair.

--------------------------------------------------------

After taking a long and refreshing shower, you lay on the bed. Staring at the ceiling. Thinking back to your hometown. You felt a bit homesick. But this is the direction you have chosen for life, becoming an adventurer to follow in her footsteps.

You grabbed the covers of the bed and wrapped yourself in their warm comfort. Turning the lights off in the room to sleep. The day was long and not very eventful. But you got what you needed down, now all there is left is to join a familia. A task that you would tackle tomorrow morning.

Your eyes felt heavy. The drag of today caught up, making sleep easy to do. Before you knew it, your mind went blank as you fell into a deep slumber.

---------------------------------------------------------

(The Next Day)

god: Get lost, kid!

A door slammed shut on you. When you woke up early this morning, you set out to join a familia. And so far, none of the gods wanted to take you in. One look, and they immediately sent you away. Some were nice about it, others were rude. Laughing and ridiculing you.

The more you got rejected, the more your frustration grew. Everywhere you went, you get turned down. It seemed ridiculous that the guild accepted you to be adventurer, but the gods weren't all that to impressed with your attire.

Though the constant rejection wasn't gonna keep you down. You left the door and set out to find anyone else that would take you in.

---------------------------------------------------------

(Days Later)

It all seemed hopeless. The local gods rejected you after another. Your money pouch grew lighter and lighter within the passing days. There was even a time when you had to use the bench outside the plaza as a resting place.

god: Get lost, would ya!

You were kicked out the door, hitting the ground pretty hard. The door closes, and you just sat there with your head down. Getting turned down constantly affected you gravely. Thinking that it was a mistake coming here.

And at your lowest point, a figure looms over you. Her shadow overcasting the sun's light made you look up.

The gods descended to the lower world, granting adventurers the power to tackle the dungeon. During your time in Orairo, you met with many of the gods, but the one that stood before you. She was different from all the others.

Hestia: Hello there. I see that you're looking for a familia.

You were awe struck. Here stood a goddess. Unlike any other ones out there. She had a remarkable air around her. A soothing kind aura. She had a small busty appearance and a beautiful face.

She gave you a happy grin. And you knew that this smile was genuine. Unlike all the other smiles you received here.

She held out her hand to you. You sat up, taking her hand in a kneeling position, smiling ever so gratefully. The goddess laid her other hand atop yours.

And at this very moment, you swore yourself to her famila. Vowing to protect your goddess Hestia.

---------------------------------------------------------

You followed Goddess Hestia to where your home would be. You expected the home to be a small hut, but instead, you were led to an old rundown church. The windows are shattered, the foundation itself was all cracked and ready to collapse any given moment.

Hestia: Welcome to my humble abode!

Hestia held out her arms to the church. Indeed it was not what you had expected. You doubted the sleeping arrangements were any good.

Hestia noticed your look to the barely standing church.

Hestia: Expected something else? I'm sorry if it didn't meet your expectations.

You waved your hands to dismiss what she said.

Y/n: No, no, no. You don't have to apologize, Goddess Hestia. I didn't plan what Familia I was joining. So, it's alright. I'm sure we can make do.

Hestia: I just wished I could have offered something more glamorous.

Y/n: I'm fine with whatever. Don't you worry. There's no greater feeling than starting from scratch and working your way up.

Hestia: Well, let me show you the inside and where we will be sleeping.

Hestia leads you inside. The church inside looked better than the outside. You direct your eyes to the worn wooden benches. Most seemed stable to sit and lie on. Others look like they could break down the moment someone took a seat.

Y/n: Those don't look comfortable to sleep on.

Hestia giggles.

Hestia: It's a good thing we ain't sleeping on them.

She heads up to the altar. Hestia puts her hand on a wall, revealing it to be a fake. It opens up, showing a staircase that leads down. Illuminated with candles along the path down.

Hestia: Follow me.

Hestia heads down the stairs. You follow after her. Which leads to a small room below the church. It has a bed big enough to fit three people. A closest desk, including that of a couch and a table in front of it.

Everything needed for proper living conditions was here. Much more accommodating than the small room you rented at the inn.

Hestia: Better than you thought, huh.

Y/n: Yeah... better than I thought.

Hestia: Feel free to put your stuff away.

You nod and undid the straps of your sheath. Setting it down, leaning on the foot of the bed. You took off your coat and set it down on the bed.

Hestia: Right. Shall we begin?

Hestia sits on the bed. She pats on the empty spot. You crawled on the bed and laid on your stomach. Hestia begins her work. She lifts your shirt up, and pokes her thumb with a needle. Drawing out a single drop of blood.

The tiny liquid hit your back. And then, the room was engulfed in a bright light. You felt a weird sensation on your back.

After a short few seconds, the light died down. Hestia smiles happily and gets off your back.

Hestia: All done! Welcome to the Hestia Familia!

You move to the mirror. Checking out the Falna now on your back. This was a huge step toward your goal. You turn to Hestia and take her hand into yours. Smiling appreciative to your Goddess.

Hestia falters a bit. Your smile was unlike any other mortals she saw. It held pure happiness.

---------------------------------------------------------

Late that night, Hestia fell asleep on the bed. Wrapped up in the blankets to keep warm. You laid on the couch, staring at the ceiling in thought.

Y/n:(Thoughts) Two months on the road, and I finally arrived at Orairo. Joining Hestia Familia and now, I become an adventurer tomorrow. I don't know if I'm ready to tackle the dungeon. But I gotta catch up to her.

You raised your fist to the ceiling.

Y/n: I will catch up... Leanna.

---------------------------------------------------------

(Morning)

You unpacked some of your clothing that you packed on the journey. Hestia helped put them away in a closet. In the bag, Hestia caught something interesting laying inside, wrapped up in cloth.

Hestia: What's this?

She points to the cloth. You picked it up and unwrapped the top half. Showing Hestia an interesting piece of wood.

Hestia: Is this firewood?

Y/n: Not... exactly.

You set the wood on the table.

Y/n: Where I'm from, there once stood a tree called the Gigas Cedar. A tree so tall that it was four times the height of our bell tower. No one knew how the tree came to be, just that it one day started absorbing mana around the area. Growing in size and toughness. Many people and adventurers put their backs into to get it down. But no one succeeded. Until a swordsman came to town, demonstrating his skills and cut the tree down. The tip of the tree was then cut off and handed to me by him. He said that the power within the wood could be used to create a powerful weapon. So I've been holding onto it.

Hestia interest in the wood increased. You covered the wood and left it there. You grabbed your coat, putting it on, then strapping Anneal Blade to your back.

Y/n: Alright, Goddess. I'm heading out now. I'll be back tonight. I'll be sure to bring food back.

Hestia: You're going to the dungeon? Already?

You nod.

Y/n: We won't be able to make a living if I sit here and twiddle my thumbs.

Hestia grew worried. It hadn't been long since you two met, but she became rather attached to you. Seeing her worry, you walked to her and gently patted your Goddess on the head.

Y/n: Let's get to know each other more when I get back.

Hestia: Right!

She smiles.

You left the basement, walking up the steps and opening the fake wall. It was bright and early, so getting to Pantheon at this time would be relatively easy.

With a satchel on your belt, you set off. Running to the guild before anyone else could.

You ran past many people, seeing the vendors getting their stands ready for the day. Other adventurers were out, by none had any desire to go into the dungeon at this hour.

Finally making it to Pantheon, you entered through the doors. Seeing only the advisors inside. The one called Misha, who you talked to the last time you were here, sat at her assigned desk. Waiting for adventurers to come through the door.

Y/n: Hello!

You ran over to her desk with an enthusiastic smile.

Misha: Hello. I remember you. I assume you're here because you found a Familia.

Y/n: I have!

Misha: I'm happy that you found one. Normally, I would be your advisor, but you have been passed onto someone else. She's right over there.

She points to a brown-haired elf just further down to the left.

Misha: Eina will be your advisor from here on out. She already has the details. Just inform her of the Familia you're currently in, and you'll become an adventurer shortly.

Y/n: Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.

You bowed to her and went off to talk with your assigned advisor. Eina saw you approaching her desk.

Eina: Hello, how may I help you?

Y/n: Hi, I was told that you would be my advisor.

Eina: Are you Y/n L/n?

You nod. Eina does a quick examination of your gear and appearance. She sighs, crossing her arms.

Eina: You look quite young. Are you sure this is something you want to do?

Y/n: I'm sure. I know it seems strange for a kid like me to become an adventurer. It's a path I plan to pursue.

Eina: I very well can't stop you, but pay in mind that it is my job to make sure you come back in one piece. So please listen to my words. That's all I ask of you.

Listening to her request, you nodded.

Y/n: I will.

Eina is happy to hear that.

Eina: Thank you. Now, let's get down to business. I've been informed you'll return when you join a Familia. Would you be kind to tell which one it is.

Y/n: Of course. I joined the Hestia Familia. And... I'm the only... member.

Eina: The Hestia Familia? This is certainly a surprise. And you say you're the only member?

Y/n: Yes. Would that be a problem?

Eina: No. As long as you're in a Familia. You should have access to the dungeon. But I'd advise you to join a party. It is unwise to fight alone.

Her advice was sound. Fighting in the dungeon is the safe move. Less risk of death. But in the back of your mind, you doubted that any adventurers would let you join them because of how new and weak you are.

Y/n: I'll see what I can do. Anything I should know about the 1st floor?

Eina: Aside from the werewolves and goblins, not much. You should beware that the monsters spawn in through the walls at any given moment.

Y/n: That's good to know. I think. Thanks for that. I'm off now.

Before you left, Eina spoke up.

Eina: Be sure to join a party. It doesn't matter what Familia they're in. Be sure to partner up.

You left Pantheon. Working with people wasn't your strong suit. So, instead of heeding Eina's words, you head straight to the dungeon. Walking to the giant tower and the entrance that will lead adventurers down below where the monsters lie.

You reached a fountain, relatively close to the dungeon. Other parties were already here.

Your Goddess Hestia doesn't know this, but during your training, you picked up a skill that helped you in the long run when traveling to Orairo.

A skill called "Perception." A unique one that allows you to check the status, feelings, and location of anyone in your vicinity. Be it adventurers and monsters. The effect varied on your proficiency. If they were too strong to get a read, the only thing "Perception" would pick up is the level.

You activated the skill. Needing no casting words to do so. Your eyes glow purple the moment "Perception" went active.

Many of the adventurers here are a rank higher than you. So the odds of them being on the same floor would be slim. There were others that you couldn't get a good read on. Seeing their level 3 or 4 icon above their heads.

You turned off "Perception" and prepared yourself to tackle the dungeon alone.

---------------------------------------------------------

You walked down the stone steps. Many adventurers were walking along with you as the path to the lower floors aligned with your own path.

When you finally reach the bottom steps, you hanged out close to the exit to let the other adventurers proceed to their destination in order to get fewer people around.

When you were sure that most of the adventurers were gone, you walked deeper into the dungeon. Everything was stone. The walls. Floors, ceiling. All of it. Light stones lit the path forward. Leading anyone who follows them to the lower floors.

As of yet, you hadn't encountered any of the monsters that lurk in the dungeon. But by using "Perception," you knew that going further down would lead you to them.

The walk wasn't eventful. Thinking that you passed the same wall many times. You fidget around with your fingers, feeling uneasy at the surroundings.

When you got close to the presences further in, you finally came across one of the monsters. It was a Goblin, and not just one, but five all together. "Perception" had told you that a Goblin itself is weaker than what you are. The issue is that there are five, not one.

They hadn't noticed your presence yet, so you took this advantage. Reaching behind your coat and grabbing a small needle around your belt.

The needle glowed blue, and you threw it at one of the Goblins. The needle pierced right through the Goblin, killing it instantly. The body explodes into a black vapor, leaving behind a small monster crystal. Just barely any bigger than the needle you just threw.

The Goblins were alerted by your presence. They snarled and ran at you.

Grabbing two more needles, you threw them at the two closest. Killing those two and leaving a duo of Goblins.

Thinning out the small group gave you a good confidence boost. You grabbed Anneal Blade's grip and sheathed the sword.

The first Goblin tried hitting you with its wooden mallet. You raised Anneal Blade in a defensive position. The mallet struck the blade, snapping it in the progress. Without a weapon to defend itself, all it took was a swipe with your blade, and you took the Goblin down rather easy.

The last Goblin swiped its sword at you. Blocking at the last second, you and the monster clash blades. The Goblin hadn't the strength to overpower you, so you push the Goblin's sword back. Getting the Goblin Off-balance and open to an attack.

Your blade glowed yellow, and you hit the Goblin in the shoulder, bringing your down diagonally to its hip. The Goblin explodes into vapor. You successfully killed your first five monsters, getting out of the engagement without a scratch.

The move you used is called "Slant," one of many things called Sword Skills you have in your arsenal. They consume mana, but not as much needed for a spell.

You sheathed Anneal Blade, then got to collecting the crystals on the ground. They were small things, but money is money, no matter how you get it.

Just when you thought you were done, more of the monsters appear. This time, 8 more Goblins. You tighten the knot on your satchel. Drawing out your blade from the sheath. You ran at the Goblins with a battle cry.

---------------------------------------------------------

It had been 8 hours since your departure from Pantheon. Eina had awaited your arrival. But you have yet to show. Fearing the worse, the elf spent the next five minutes pacing back and forth. Many thoughts went through her head, afraid that you might have died while in the dungeon.

And in that moment, with minor injuries, you walked in the guild. Having a visible cut on your face. Eina saw you walk and was immediately overjoyed to know you survived.

Eina: I thought the worst might have happened to you!

Eina ran up to you and grabbed your shoulders.

Eina: Most adventurers at your level don't stay down there that long! It's a miracle you even survived for that time.

You tilt your head to the side.

Y/n: Really? Huh, well, I'm sorry for worrying you. I'll be sure to come back early from now on.

Eina: I'm just glad you made it back. Oh, and your face. You must've been scared down there.

Eina hand hovered over the cut.

Y/n: Scared? I don't think that's what I was feeling. I will admit I was worried. Didn't know this adventurer thing was this difficult.

Eina: What matters now is that you're safe.

You smiled and patted Eina's head. This action made her move from you. Slightly flustered, but still happy that you made it back.

You held up a satchel full of crystals.

Y/n: So... do I turn this in over there?

Eina's jaw dropped open.

Eina: C-Can I take a peak inside?

Y/n: If you want. Be my guest.

You opened the bag, and Eina peered in. Seeing all those small stones you gathered from the monsters inside. But judging from the amount, it was clear to Eina that you slayed at least 50 monsters to get this much.

Eina: How did you get so many?!

Y/n: I didn't go rushing in, that's for sure. I have these small needles on my belt, and I catch the small group of monsters off-guard. So most of these crystals are from sneak attacks.

Eina:... Are you really a level 1 adventurer?

---------------------------------------------------------

Hestia sat on the edge of the bed in the basement. Waiting for you to come back. As she wonders just how long you've been gone.

She hears the creaking sound of the steps. You made it down. Hestia, overjoyed at your return, flings herself at you. You yell and got tackled by Hestia. Hitting the ground rather hard.

Hestia: You're back!

Y/n: Y-Yeah... I am. Goddess... can you get off, please?

Hestia: Okay!

Still keeping her enthusiasm, Hestia gets off you. You were drained from fighting in the dungeon. It took you a while to get your bearings after being tackled down like that.

After getting your balance, you sat up. Holding a bag in your hand. Hestia sees it, and you smile. Opening it up to reveal tasty potato snacks with many dressings with it.

Hestia's eyes glimmers at the sight.

Hestia: You're the best, Y/n!

She takes the bag from your hand and excitedly runs to the table to eat. You chuckled at her behavior and went over to eat as well.

A moment like this is very special to you and her. It marks the first day going in and out of the dungeon.

---------------------------------------------------------

(Nearly A Month Later)

Time passed fast. Your constant fight in the dungeon had risen your stats greatly. All of it in the 200 hundred radius. Your strength being the highest, and agility just after. You have yet to reach the rank level 2, but you feel like you reached a ceiling in your power. Stuck, and unable to move forward.

That frustration built up, but you soon learned to let go and keep fighting in the dungeon.

Right now, you are on floor 4, fighting three lizardmen with weapons. It was an intriguing fight for you.

You fought them off well, blocking their strikes and parrying all at once. One of them made the mistake of raising their weapon in the air, giving you an opening to quickly cut its arm off.

Without a weapon to fight back, you reached for your belt and grabbed a needle. You ducked underneath a sword from behind, getting low and using your legs to trip the lizardman that tried to hit you from behind.

Using a piercing skill on the needle, you threw it at the lizardman whose arm you cut off. It used a shield it had on its other hand to block the needle. However, the force and power behind it the throw pushed the back, giving you an opening to use "Rage Spike," a leap skill that impales whatever in its path.

You stabbed into the lizardman's neck, killing it with that blow. The shield it held dropped to the ground.

One of the lizardman tried to attack. So you stomped your foot on the shield that dropped and used it to block the sword. You moved the shield down, taking the sword with it.

Seizing that opportunity, you dropped the shield, rolling over the lizardman's back. Touching the ground, you did a quick upward slice, taking the monster's head off cleanly.

One of the lizardmen ran away, leaving the last one alone to face you. It held a defensive position, holding its shield high.

Charging the sword skill "Sharp Nail," you ran forward. Instead of swiping Anneal Blade like you usually do, you threw the blade while it was still active, using one of the three hit combo to not only bounce off the shield, but break through the lizard's defensive.

While the Anneal Blade spun in the air, you jumped up to it, catching the blade and spinning in a circular motion, delivering the last two hit combo on the monster. It explodes when dead.

You saw the last one running away. You got ready to give chase. Not aware of your right foot glowing blue.

When you took a step forward with that foot, you blitzed forward at a remarkable speed. Instantly behind the lizard. Not expecting that speed boost, you crashed into the lizard. Both of you roll on the ground. You acted quickly, grabbing lizard by the neck and stabbing into its chest.

It explodes, and you continue to roll until you lose the momentum to keep going. You laid on the ground, in shock of what happened.

---------------------------------------------------------

You returned back to the church, sitting on the bed as Hestia checked your status after telling her what happened.

Hestia: I see. So, you unlocked a new skill.

You turn your head to look at Hestia in shock.

Y/n: Really? What is it?

Hestia: It's called Omni Vantis. A high-speed step.

Y/n: What, like a speed boost?

Hestia: More or less. Think of it like this, you stored up momentum during your fight. Omni Vantis stored up any excess momentum, transfered it to your foot, and allowed you to do a really fast step forward.

It was quite daunting that you acquired a skill like that.

Hestia: How about that, you got a skill that compliments your fighting style. Lucky you.

Hestia places a piece of paper on your back. Copying your status on it and giving you it to have you see for yourself.

Sure enough, there it is. Omni Vantis, along with your Perception skill. You went over your stats. Barely anything increased. Lately, you've been improving at a fast rate, but ever since last week, all that progress began to slow down. Only getting a few numbers in strength and agility.

Your magic was still empty, but what caught your attention on the paper was a barely readable letters on your skill part.

Y/n: Goddess Hestia, what does this say right here?

You showed her the paper and pointed at the blurred out letters. Hestia checks her nails.

Hestia: Huh, my hand must've slipped. Sorry, Omni Vantis was the only skill you obtained today.

Y/n: Oh, that's disappointing.

You set the paper down and went to the bathroom to brush your teeth. While you were gone, Hestia touched the blurred out letters. They become clear, revealing a skill never been heard of before by Gods and Humans.

*Star King*

Hestia:(Thoughts) Star King, fast growth, and limitless potential. I had never heard of this skill before. I don't even know the requirements to meet this. It's unheard of.

Hestia looks over to you, brushing your teeth.

Hestia:(Thoughts) It would explain how he grew so strong fast during this month. But the growth stops when he reaches the ceiling of his level. And will continue when he breaks past that. Limitless potential, there's no telling how strong he'll become. Y/n...

--------------------------------------------------------

Overlooking Orairo, 11 cloaked figures stood at the very tall tower.

Figure#1: Have you confirmed it?

Figure#2: I have. The Star King has passed his title to someone else.

Figure#3: That idiot. Leaving to go journey to a town was one thing, but passing not only his teachings but that skill. What was he thinking.

Figure#4: It would seem that we will have a new king to join our ranks.

Figure#5: Doesn't matter, I, the Fire King, will deal with the boy and claim that skill for myself.

Figure#6: Now, now. Why not wait? I'm rather curious to see what the boy would do with the power.

Figure#7: As do I, Shadow King. So, let's wait. I'm sure the skill "Abyss King" is somewhere else in Orairo.

The 11 figures continue to stare at the city. Examining every adventurer to spot anyone with an abnormal growth in strength.

A/n: I changed a fair bit of this story, replacing Bell with my OC, and have him be an adventurer for a month, rather than a half. Adding my own little twist for a future side story. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Next one, you will fight a minotaur and be helped by a certain blonde beauty. See you then!
