Chapter 1 - the lost child

The sun was beginning to set behind the hills, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple. In the small village of Anandpur, people were slowly returning to their homes after a long day. But near the edge of the village, under a tall banyan tree, stood a little boy named Raju—alone and frightened.

Raju had come to the village fair with his parents. There were bright lights, sweet shops, music, and laughter everywhere. Excited by the colorful balloons and toys, he had let go of his mother's hand for just a moment. But in that one moment, the crowd carried him away, and when he turned back, his parents were nowhere to be seen.

At first, he thought he would find them easily. He ran from one stall to another, calling out, "Ma! Baba!" But his voice was lost in the noise. As the fair slowly ended and people began to leave, Raju realized he was truly lost.

Tears filled his eyes. He walked and walked until his legs grew tired, and finally, he stopped under the banyan tree. The world around him suddenly felt too big and too quiet.

Just then, an old man named Hari passed by. He noticed the little boy sitting alone and gently asked, "Why are you crying, child?"

"I can't find my parents," Raju sobbed.

Hari's heart softened. He gave Raju some water and said, "Don't worry. We will find them." He took Raju to the village square and spoke to the shopkeepers. Soon, the news spread that a lost child had been found.

Meanwhile, Raju's parents were searching everywhere, their hearts filled with fear. When they heard the announcement in the square, they rushed there as fast as they could.

The moment Raju saw them, he ran into their arms, crying—but this time, with relief. His mother held him tightly, and his father thanked Hari again and again.

That night, Raju learned an important lesson—to never wander away. And the villagers of Anandpur were reminded that kindness and care can light the darkest moments.

Under the same banyan tree, the wind whispered softly, as if telling the story of the lost child who was found again.
