Chapter 3 - chapter 3: Moving into His World

đź“– The CEO Contract Bride

The car door closed with a soft thud.

Tessa sat inside the luxury vehicle, her hands resting neatly on her lap as the engine hummed to life.

Outside the window, the mansion slowly faded into the distance.

She had already spent a day inside it—but leaving it even briefly felt like stepping out of a controlled environment into something unfamiliar again.

Across from her sat the CEO.

Silent.

Composed.

Focused on his phone.

As usual, he hadn't said much since they got into the car.

Tessa glanced at him briefly, then looked away.

"How long does it take to get there?" she asked.

Without lifting his eyes, he replied, "Twenty minutes."

She nodded slightly.

Then silence returned.

---

Tessa turned her gaze out the window.

The city passed by in a blur—traffic, pedestrians, vendors, buildings layered with movement and noise.

It reminded her of her life before all of this.

Busy. Uncertain. Unstable.

But familiar.

Now everything felt structured.

Controlled.

And… quiet in a different way.

---

She exhaled softly.

"This is really happening," she thought.

Not just a meeting.

Not just a temporary arrangement.

She was being introduced into his world.

A world filled with expectations she was still trying to understand.

---

"Relax your posture," the CEO suddenly said.

Tessa blinked and turned to him.

"What?"

"You're tense."

She looked down at her hands.

He had noticed.

Of course he had.

She adjusted her shoulders slightly.

"Is it that obvious?"

"Yes."

She gave a small sigh.

"I'm not used to this kind of lifestyle."

"That will change," he replied calmly.

She raised a brow.

"Will it?"

"It has to."

His tone left no room for argument.

---

The car slowed down.

Tessa looked out the window again as they approached a large gated entrance.

Security guards stood at attention as the vehicle passed through.

The environment outside was different from the mansion—but equally controlled.

Tall buildings.

Glass structures.

People moving with purpose.

This was clearly a business district.

---

The car came to a stop.

A valet opened the door.

"Sir."

The CEO stepped out first, then turned slightly, waiting.

Tessa followed, stepping out carefully and adjusting her dress.

As soon as she stood upright, she felt it—

Eyes.

People nearby were looking.

Not openly staring.

But observing.

Recognizing.

---

"Stay close," the CEO said quietly.

Tessa moved beside him.

They walked together toward the entrance of a modern building.

The doors opened automatically as they approached.

Inside, the atmosphere was refined.

Polished floors. Soft lighting. Professional staff moving quietly in the background.

Tessa could feel the difference immediately.

This wasn't just a building.

It was a place of influence.

---

As they walked through the lobby, a few people paused subtly to acknowledge the CEO.

"Good afternoon, sir."

"Welcome."

He responded with slight nods, continuing forward without slowing down.

Tessa walked beside him, trying to match his pace.

---

They entered an elevator.

The doors closed.

Silence returned.

Tessa glanced at the digital panel as the elevator began ascending.

"So… is this your company?" she asked.

"Yes."

She nodded slowly.

"Big."

He didn't respond.

Not because he disagreed.

But because it was obvious.

---

When the elevator reached its floor, the doors opened into a wide, open office space.

People were moving between desks, discussing files, working on screens.

The moment the CEO stepped out—

The energy shifted.

Heads turned.

Movements slowed slightly.

"Mr. CEO."

"Sir."

Greetings followed quickly.

Tessa noticed how naturally everyone reacted to him.

Not fear.

Not excitement.

Respect.

---

He walked forward, and Tessa stayed beside him.

Whispers began subtly among some of the employees.

"Is that… his wife?"

"I heard he got married recently…"

"She looks different from what I expected."

Tessa heard fragments of the conversation.

She kept her expression neutral.

But internally, she felt the pressure building again.

---

They reached a glass-walled conference room.

Inside, several executives were already seated.

When the CEO entered, they stood up immediately.

"Good afternoon, sir."

He nodded once.

"Sit."

They obeyed.

---

Tessa followed him inside and stood slightly behind him, unsure where she was supposed to go.

One of the executives glanced at her briefly but said nothing.

The CEO pulled out a chair slightly and gestured.

"Sit."

Tessa hesitated for a second, then took the seat beside him.

---

The meeting began almost immediately.

Documents were distributed.

Charts displayed on the screen.

Discussions followed in a structured, professional tone.

Tessa listened quietly, observing everything.

She didn't fully understand the technical details—but she could follow the general flow.

Decisions.

Proposals.

Approvals.

Revisions.

---

At one point, the CEO turned slightly toward her and lowered his voice.

"You're not required to participate."

She nodded.

"I know."

"Observe."

"I am."

He returned his attention to the meeting.

---

As the discussion continued, Tessa remained silent.

But she noticed something.

The way he spoke.

Clear.

Direct.

No unnecessary words.

When he made a decision, no one questioned it.

It wasn't just authority.

It was confidence backed by control.

---

After nearly an hour, the meeting concluded.

The executives began gathering their materials.

"Thank you, sir."

"Thank you."

They filed out one by one.

---

When the room finally emptied, Tessa exhaled slightly.

"That was intense," she said quietly.

The CEO stood up.

"It's normal."

She looked at him.

"For you, maybe."

He glanced at her briefly.

"You'll adapt."

---

As they left the conference room, they walked back through the office space.

This time, the whispers were a bit more noticeable.

But Tessa ignored them.

She kept her focus forward.

---

Outside the building, the evening light had begun to settle over the city.

The car was already waiting.

Tessa and the CEO got in.

The door closed.

Silence returned once again.

---

Tessa leaned back slightly in her seat, her thoughts still processing everything she had just experienced.

A completely different world.

Structured.

Powerful.

Demanding.

---

She turned her head slightly toward him.

"Do you ever get tired of all this?" she asked.

He paused briefly before answering.

"No."

Tessa nodded.

Not surprised.

But still thoughtful.

---

The car continued moving through the city as the sky gradually dimmed.

For Tessa, today had marked more than just a visit.

It was her first real step into his world.

A world she was now tied to.

Whether she was ready or not.

---

And somewhere within that realization…

A quiet truth began to settle in.

This arrangement was no longer just a contract on paper.

It was becoming her reality.
