Keifer's POV:
I stayed. Even after she told me to leave, I stayed in that plastic chair until the sun bled into the horizon. I watched the flickering light of her phone on the bedside table—the phone that Rory and Edrix had bugged. Every message she sent, every location she visited, would sync directly to my device.
It was a violation. I knew that. But with my monster of a father and my relatives circling like vultures in Manila, I couldn't lose her. Not after my mother died protecting what was mine. I had to go to London to reclaim my inheritance—to get the power I needed to burn them all—but leaving Jay was like tearing my own heart out.
"Wait for me, Jay," I whispered, though she kept her back turned to me. "I was forced to do it. Just... please, wait."
She didn't answer. She didn't understand. To her, I was just the boy who broke her heart and then watched her break her body.
Section E's pov :
While Keifer sat like a statue by Jay's bed, the rest of us were falling apart in the hallway. The "Section E" that everyone at HVIS feared looked like a group of lost children.
"I did the math," Ci-N whispered, his small frame shaking as he leaned against the cold hospital wall. "If we hadn't let her run... if I had just grabbed her arm..."
"Stop it, Ci-N," David said, though his own voice was thick. He was usually the calm one, the anchor, but even he couldn't look anyone in the eye.
Edrix and Rory sat in the corner, their laptops open but their screens dark. They had already installed the tracking software on Jay's phone—a task Keifer had demanded to "ensure her safety" from his relatives. But looking at the red light of the heart monitor through the window, the 'safety' felt like a lie. We were the ones who drove her into the street.
"We're monsters," Blaster muttered, punching the vending machine. "We played with her feelings for a 'plan' against Aries, and now she's laying there with a shattered leg."
Even Felix, who was usually focused on his Kuya Percy's memory, looked devastated. None of us knew that Percy was alive and watching from the shadows of the ER entrance, his eyes burning with a silent promise of revenge against us all.
