Simona dropped a message to Gideon regarding Edmund's arrival in the capital.
The notification caught his eye halfway to the vehicle, causing him to stop dead in his tracks while Adeline had already climbed into the passenger seat.
Seeing him dial a number instead of getting in, she couldn't stay inside. She opened the door and stepped back out onto the gravel driveway.
"Is he really coming to the capital?" Gideon asked the moment the call connected, demanding confirmation.
"Edmund is already in the capital and has checked into a hotel," Simona asserted. "I just sent you a picture. You can see for yourself."
Adeline moved to stand right next to him as Gideon lowered the phone to look at his screen. Together, they stared at the image of a man. Gideon's jaw tightened instantly in recognition while Adeline looked on blankly, having no idea who the man was.
"Yes, it's him," Gideon replied into the phone. "So, where do you plan to meet him?"
