Chapter 28 - CHAPTER 28: The Breakthrough to Spatial Mastery

The core cultivation facility was located in a tower at the absolute center of the sect compound, sealed behind multiple layers of protective formation arrays. Only the sect master and the most elite disciples had access to it.

The tower contained chambers specifically designed for breakthroughs—rooms where the ambient qi was concentrated and controlled, where safety formations would automatically activate to prevent accidents and contain any excess power that the breakthrough might release.

Luo Chen was given access to the highest chamber, a room that had been used by the sect's most talented disciples for major breakthroughs.

He spent two weeks in preliminary preparation, meditating and refining his understanding of space. Finally, the night of his breakthrough arrived.

Luo Chen entered the cultivation chamber and settled into a meditation pose. Tian Qing sat outside the protective barrier, ready to intervene if something went wrong.

As Luo Chen began the meditation sequence that would lead him to the Spatial Mastery realm, he became aware of the sheer scope of the space law stretching out before him.

He had understood space up to this point in a somewhat abstract way—as something that could be folded, compressed, and navigated. But now, as his consciousness expanded in preparation for his breakthrough, he perceived space in its entirety.

The three-dimensional space that humans inhabited was revealed to be merely the thinnest possible layer of something far vaster. Through the Celestial Eye, he could perceive four-dimensional space—a realm where lines of space twisted through perpendicular directions that the human eye could never see. Beyond that was five-dimensional space, six-dimensional space, and on into realms of such incomprehensible geometry that his mind could barely maintain coherence.

All of this space was governed by rules, by laws. And the Space Law was the principle that allowed a cultivator to manipulate those rules within the limits of their understanding.

As his cultivation base passed the threshold into the Spatial Mastery realm, Luo Chen felt his understanding expand in real-time.

The dantian in the center of his body, which had previously resembled a spiral galaxy, suddenly transformed. It became a three-dimensional mandala of impossible complexity—a fractal structure that contained infinite detail at every level of magnification. The Space Law and Time Law, still rotating around the axis of causality, now had many other elements orbiting them—individual laws and principles related to spatial manipulation, temporal flow, and the connections between them.

Around him, the chamber filled with visible spatial distortions. The air shimmered and warped. Objects seemed to exist in multiple places simultaneously. The walls of the chamber appeared to recede to infinite distance and converge to a single point at once.

Then, as suddenly as it had begun, the chaos resolved into perfect order.

Luo Chen opened his eyes.

He was covered in sweat, his clothes torn by the internal pressure of the breakthrough. His body ached from the ordeal. But inside, he felt the presence of a complete, vastly more powerful dantian. More importantly, he felt the Space Law and Time Law operating in perfect synchronization, strengthened and refined by their mutual rotation around the axis of causality.

He had achieved a breakthrough to the Spatial Mastery realm—the realm where cultivators could create pocket dimensions, teleport across vast distances, and manipulate large areas of space simultaneously.

When Sect Master Tian Qing examined him after the breakthrough, the sect master's eyes widened with awe.

"Your dantian," Tian Qing breathed. "It is far more complex than before. I can see at least a dozen different principles integrated into your core. You have done something that I did not think possible—you have integrated the Space Law and Time Law so perfectly that they are no longer separate phenomena but components of a unified whole."

"Is this good or bad?" Luo Chen asked.

"Neither. It is unprecedented. The implications of what you have achieved... I will need time to contemplate them fully."
